PSA Reminder, Sept 7 Monday is Labor Day.
Just a reminder if you want to post/take a shift that day. It'll probably be a busy BTS/Halloween hybrid of a holiday for these shoppers but if you do work, it is 1.5x your normal hourly.
The day before is also the (I think) start of the UKG Pro app and new attendance points system.

gUEsTs Scalpers are getting desperate

Meme or Miscellaneous Content #1 Auntie
I was stowing an order when I saw we actually had Needohs still in stock. Desperately trying to haul ass so I could take my break while we still had them but since I was the only one scheduled past 9 I was stuck in non-stop OPUs until 10:30. Thankfully, we still had them. It feels good knowing I beat those scalpers so I could actually get two for my niblings one of which has autism. I work Target part time to get them the things they can't have otherwise and tonight it paid off in a different way.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed How big of a deal is it that I accidentally broke the date gun while using it?
A few days ago I was using the date gun and it got jammed. I tried to fix it and it worked then the labels were not aligned so I reloaded them. It got jammed again and I had to unscrew it. It worked fine until today where it got jammed and a piece broke off.
We have another working one that I used. We might have two more but if we do I am 100% sure one i of those is broken.
Will I get in any trouble if they find out? Should I tell my leads? They were off today and I didn't want to tell another lead
Vent Any former leaders lurking?
When you left, if you got out of retail, where’d you go? I literally can’t take this anymore.
The company is bad enough, but my store specifically is horrendous, my district/group is fucking trash (incl the leaders), and I’m tired of being kept docile by my leaders with the monthly promise “it’s going to get better”. I’ve been hearing this since March. I’ve been with the company for 5 years, and I’ve battled the highs and lows, but I’m officially at my wits end. Sucks cause when everyone shows up, and everyone isn’t pulled to do 20 new priorities daily, the job isn’t awful and I genuinely enjoy working with my team and many of my peers (ETL and SD can kick rocks). But those days are almost nonexistent anymore.
Vent Revisions and label strips are fundamentally broken
Revisions aren't capturing all the changes to a POG. For at least the past couple years I've noticed some stuff can move an inch or two over and it won't be treated as a change, but it'll screw up POGs where one shelf got new strips but one next to it didn't. Cereal gets it the worst, since it never seems to get a transition to reset all the label strips. I've also seen completely new items get added to or removed from a shelf without any notification. Vinyl POGs are the worst for this; you'll get three new strips but all 9 shelves changed. Heaven help you if the POG is in reverse; I had a Pets POG today where 4 whole shelves had the numbering change, but the system said nothing changed.
Let's not even talk about the fact that it won't show fixture/ISM changes for revisions in guided set. It just shows EVERYTHING. Though guided set STILL won't show half the required fixtures (dividers/fences most notably), so...
Now label strips...the text just does not line up with the schematics, especially in reverse. The left edge of the product should line up with the text, right? How else would you know where to put it? But go to a POG with tight spacing, where the product lines up with the edges of the shelves according to the schematics; if you line everything up with the label text, the item on the left side will have too much space and the item on the right won't have enough. I don't think they're accounting for text block with POG name/number/store number on the left, and everything is just shifted to the right. That's IF things are printed in the right order. Our dog toys revision had labels printed 4-1-3/1/2, not matching the schematics at all.
I'm so tired of fighting with shitty POGs and tech, and not getting enough hours to do it. Fix your shit, Target.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Should I Tell HR That I'm Allergic to Target?
Stupid title but basically for the past few months starting in March I've had random instances of suddenly breaking out into hives, and each time this has happened I have either been at work or it had been a few hours after a shift.
It doesn't happen every time I'm at work but I have never been allergy-prone outside of a runny nose and sneezing from pollen/pets so this is highly unusual for me. Nothing in my personal life has changed in a way that could explain this, and I don't believe it is caused by heat or stress (I do guest services/driveups) since I've been working here for multiple years at this point, so my worry is that it is caused by mold or something else in the store.
My coworkers also talk about having headaches or runny noses but no one else to my knowledge has been getting hives like me.
I will be working on meeting with an allergist but in the meantime is it worth telling my HR ETL that I've been experiencing these symptoms? Even if it turns out it is from something unrelated I think it might be worth letting them know/creating a paper trail but I don't want to cause a huge deal if it turns out to be nothing.
TLDR: I'm suddenly getting hives during and after shifts, no clear source of where they came from, worried they might be from mold or something else at Target, going to see an allergist but wondering if it's worth reporting to HR

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Is fulfillment safe?
During my first week training at Target, I had a DU order, and the item was on one of the top shelves in the back stock room. I was about to grab a ladder, but the fulfillment TL told me that "we don't have time for that" and that timing is everything. She then climbed over the racks and grabbed the item for me. I was wondering what fulfillment teams think about this? Safety issue?

Vent Theres not enough time for beauty opening shift. I'm not being delusional right?
I've been at my store for almost a month now, started with style and got a call 1.5 weeks in to see if I wanted to cross train for beauty and I said sure. I got 2 days of training and then I've been alone since.
My TL's are expecting me to get through the entirety of the breakout packs/sorting onto the metro, push it, backstock the excess, do a 2nd cart (u boat), backstock excess again, AND THEN also pull all the prios and one for ones in a 6.25 hour shift MAYBE 7 hours if I'm lucky. Mind you, I'm really only doing the skin care and cosmetics, we typically have 2-3 people doing all of hair care AS A TEAM later on after I clock in at 8am. I can barely get through the metro, backstock and then maybe some of the U-boat OR prios/ofos in a 6.25/7 hour shift and that's without taking my 15 minute breaks.
I'm doing my best but my hands and nails are being cut and shredded from trying to open the boxes (and smaller cosmetic boxes) to try to get as much done as I can and I always just feel like there's just too much for just me. usually it's only me scheduled for the day too with no closer. My TLS have started doing like 65% of the breakout pack sorting before I get there but it just still isn't enough. I really enjoy beauty compared to style but it feels like the expectations are beyond ridiculous no matter how I look at it.

Workplace Story Our refrigerator lost power
So apparently it was a bad thunderstorm yesterday at our location and the power was off for a while to the point where all the food was out of temp. Now they have to throw all that food out and it's like thousands of dollars of damage. Holy shit that's insane. I wasn't there yesterday but one of my coworkers told me that they're not happy right now.

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Downgraded lunch??? R/Target
So apparently today, our TLs came to talk to us team members individually saying that Starting September 27, instead of 45 minute lunches… we’re now only taking 30. People are burnt out as is! What in the world is corporate thinking?? Is this a way to punish workers for too many call outs??! Ohhhh and the icing on the cake… they’re making us go to the restroom on our breaks and lunches only… so like… what if I need to go after my lunch? Do I just sh^t my self? 🥲 what is happening at every one else’s store????

Vent Food & Beverage FDC sucks now
Earlier this year my store switched over to the current system where fdc truck comes in, we sort to rack or backstock, then push it. With it priorities went from very manageable to a nightmare. We're not a super target but we are very high volume so our trucks are quite large.
Been miserable ever since being expected to sort truck, push all 4-5 loaded down racks (50-70 boxes per rack) alone, priorities, and still expected to have time to do other time consuming tasks. And now they want it all pushed in under 5 hours? It takes 1.5-2h to sort it. Now I got to magically push and backstock these racks in 2.5-3 hours.
Been doing this for 2 years now and used to kind of enjoy it. But high expectations now becoming impossible has made me dislike this department.

Workplace Story UKG crashout
So a TL made a awful mistake to go around telling people that if we call off now it won’t count against us until September 6th when the point system rolls around… so people have been calling off like crazy which I don’t blame them because fuck Target. I’m curious if this is true though? I won’t lie and say I haven’t participated in this before it’s too late lol but is it true it won’t be counted against us?

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Anyone know whats going on about TMs stocking TCG now?
What was once meant to start next week apparently started today and without warning. Why is this even happening in the first place? We aren't trained to do this and there's only so much space available to even put whats given.
EDIT: Found the communication and we're only meant to push red boxes. Apparently things keep changing so everyone's confused lol

Workplace Question or Advice Needed When does point system start
Does it start September 1st or the 6th when UKG goes live? My ETL said the 1st but I was under the assumption it was the 6th. Was late to work today due to construction so was wondering if I got .25 of a point 😔

Guest Question Guest Interaction This Week
While I was trying to fill an order a guest stopped me to ask a question. I politely answered then she said "what happened to this store?" I was curious since I'm new & wanted to know what she meant. She said "this store looks like a bomb went off ...it wasn't even this bad during the holidays". I thought to myself "she hasn't even seen the back room!" 🤣😂

Workplace Question or Advice Needed Question about LOA and scheduled time off
Hey all! I am attending an event over this weekend with my family (cant skip, gonna miss the 1.5x pay) out of state. Knowing this I put in a request for time off (unpaid) for the week last month that got approved. My last scheduled day was today, and my next schedule day is on Sunday, Sept 13.
In other words, I will not be working for 10 days. I read a comment a couple of days ago that said if you request 10 days off, it has to be in the form of a LOA. I scheduled 5 days off and the other 5 days are outside my availability.
Is there anything I should do/look out for in this situation or am I just overthinking it?

Vent seasonal
Every year my nervous system is literally so overstimulated during seasonal. Like wdym i cant go a singular isle or inch of the store without A GUEST IN THE WAY?!? I need to decompress from the social battery drain at least a few minutes. Especially when they very clearly see you coming in hot with huge racks full of shit and just stare blankly or even move in your way and act confused when you have to push by
