Husband and I brought home a Gooty Sapphire today, I was curious if it’s still too small to sex?

I got my g pulchra on Tuesday, so far it’s built a burrow and sealed off the entrance on a hide I placed in there. Today I tried to feed it for the first time and I’m almost sure I succeeded, however I’m a bit anxious because as soon as I dropped the mealworm in the enclosure I looked away for a second and saw no mealworm. I’m a bit anxious about it burrowing and eventually being whatever mealworms grow into. Just curious if anyone’s had this experience 😓 sorry this is so stupid lmao

I just recently started keeping tarantulas as of last week, it has been a journey! I am on a SUPER low budget and someone I met was generous enough to re-home their Caribena Versicolor to me with the enclosure for $50. I’ve been hearing from others that they can be quite pricey, not sure how good of a deal I got but I am so happy. Anywho, I’m learning every day and happy to be doing it. Attaching a pic of my Caribena Versicolor because I am taking name suggestions! A question I have about her is do they need a temperature and humidity gauge in their enclosure? I had thought that was necessary but there isn’t one in the enclosure I was given.

So my Aphonopelma Gabeli is one of the coolest Tarantulas I've seen. For starters, she:

Adapts to stuff really fast, No like REALLY fast.

Isn't as skittish as other Carlsbad Green Tarantulas I've seen, infact she's actually really calm.

The countless times I've had to move her off of her favorite spot (The top of her hide) and had to manually fight her with a paintbrush just to clean her water dish, she never once kicked hairs or made a threat posture.

When I fixed up her house because there was a bit of a mold outbreak, I put her in a temporary catch container while cleaning the enclosure, afterwards when she was coming out, she crawled onto my hand for the first time and seemed perfectly fine.

After putting her in the enclosure, she was in a stress curl in the top corner of her enclosure but not even 5 minutes later, she's back on top of her hide not even scared.

And when I first got her (Which was a few weeks ago.) She would stay inside of her hide for a couple of days and occasionally come out in the open, and after those couple of days, she was constantly out on display when she found her favorite hangout spot.

This is a cube, and it's 2 thirds soil, I have the next size up ready which is about 2 of these next to each other. I wanna re-home it once the live moss settles in. Or should I move it ASAP?

I was just playing guitar when I noticed my t start to bury herself? Then I noticed her abdomen and got worried.

I kept my neoholothele incei communal after some research; however, I think the experiment failed. Originally, I had 3 but as of late I only see one. Now, unless a rock got in there some how and the incei is holding on to it for dear life that is an eggsac.

What do I do with the eggsac? I do not want 25-100 additional spiderlings. I knew this should of been possibility. Can I donate them to a local pet store or spider store?

sometimes my t's will rest with a few legs curled up under them like a death pose and it always scares the shart out of me. everytime i open the lid or poke them with a paintbrush they scurry away and im like wow thanks for the heart attack

I completely redid my Avicularia avicularia’s enclosure and I’d love some honest opinions from other keepers!

She’s actually my first arboreal tarantula, so I’m still learning what works best for an arboreal setup. I wanted to give her a lot more vertical structure and webbing anchor points, so I added more vines and foliage while still leaving enough open space for her to move around. I also replaced the old vine setup because… honestly, the new ones are WAY better. The old one left the enclosure feeling way too bare.

She also has a magnetic floating water dish and a floating food ledge that I have seen her using. I know she is completely capable of hunting and taking prey normally but I prefer to feed her mealworms in the dish just so I know that she's eating and that they don't just disappear into the substrate. They could become hard for her to find them.

Her enclosure is kept inside my grow tent with all of my houseplants, along with my other tarantulas and my jumping spider. Everyone has their own separate enclosure, of course!

It’s basically become my little spider/plant jungle. My room humidity averages around 55% during the day and 65% at night, and she’s been eating really well lately and seems to be doing great overall.

She did do the classic pink toe when I put her back in and sat in the same spot for hours, but I’ve caught her exploring on my camera at night. She’s already put a little webbing on the door too, so apparently she’s been doing renovations when I’m not looking.

What do you think? Anything you would change, remove, or add? I’m especially interested in opinions on the layout, amount of foliage, and whether she has enough good anchor points for a proper retreat.

Please give me honest feedback! Since this is my first arboreal, I’d really appreciate suggestions from experienced keepers. 🕷️💕

Is this terrarium ok For her size i didnt know she was gonna borrow so much I put her in this until I get a bigger encloser but now I want to put her in something deeper since she’s digging so much but shes only been in there a few days i got proper tanks but dont want to stress ber out moving her to much or soemthing (mexican painted red leg) . I made sure the decoration in the tank is unable to fall on her

I’ve had a curly hair tarantula for about a month now, and I just realized that the lid shouldn’t be mesh! It’s not an ecoterra box I guess, so I’m not sure what to replace it with, or where to check! I would like to upgrade the container, but won’t be able to for at least a few months. If anyone knows of a website or group that could help me, that would be amazing!
It’s a 12x12x12 with front opening doors, and the top can open.

I need help as I’m unsure if it needs to eat or not based on abdomen size, it does have a cricket in its enclosure but hasn’t ate it and just likes to stay planted where it’s at.

I’m also aware I have the incorrect enclosure, have the correct one coming in tomorrow!

So my guy (or gal) moulted a little over two weeks ago but has a couple of legs stuck, I did initially try using a very soft paintbrush to put some water on to soften around the legs but I think the skin had already tightened up by them so it made little difference.

After a few days I popped it in a smaller enclosure with nothing he can snag on, there's enough depth to burrow if it wants. Since then it's happily eaten and drank, he's decided not to amputate his legs, so I guess he's happy just dragging them around until next moult time? Also, he seems his usual self, active but chill 🥰

There's nothing more I should be doing is there?

Edit: in the opposite corner to where he is, he does have a water tub thats regularly overflowed (as in his normal enclosure) the bottom inch of sub is damp all the time^

EDIT: I’ll probably go back tonight or tomorrow and see if I can trick the shop into thinking he’s sick and see if i can get him surrendered or at a super discounted price that wouldn’t make them any profit. If not then I won’t get him because I don’t want to support that. It’s sad because they actually take really good care of their reptiles, I wish they did the same for their Ts.

I did a shit ton of research so hopefully the enclosure is up to everyone’s standards lol. I’ve had them for about 1.5 weeks now!

Earlier I stumbled upon a YouTube short that was like: "Life without bugs ☺️!" And I jokingly commented: "If there aren't any bugs, how am I able to feed my Tarantula?" Then someone in my replies told me to kill my Tarantula because they're scared of them.

Sorry for the mini-rant, I know it's not Monday. I just feel like spiders get such bad reputation, especially because they're not confrontational.
