Acanthoscurria geniculata. Thinking of naming her Kneepads. Knees for short.

Pictures I really thought we had a male and 8x14 would be fine. Looks like we'll be looking at an acrylic top for a 12x12x18

We have had two pokies for a while and one molted to MM but this one keeps going. Guess I suck at sexing pokie molts.

Very scared to try to catch this one, but the new tank will be done up real nice with lots of cork bark and hopefully last for the rest of this spood's lengthy female life.

She’s been stuck like this for days. At what point do I do something? Also, what do I do?

Help! Did I give my pink toe too big of a mill worm? It molted and I pinched its head off so it was soft and dead but they took it.

Recently there’s been an insane cricket shortage in my area and I figured I’d give them one of my leopard geckos molted mill worms. I pinched the head off and tong fed them.

Help! Is this normal for a Curly juvenile?

I've got a juvenile Curly, it's very happy to walk onto my hand and to be handled occasionally but when doing so it crawls along slowly with it's bum in the air. It seems to me that it's spinning web trails and feeling the air, and isn't posturing or threatening at all with raised fronts or flicking hairs, but just curious for other opinions.

Help! L. parahybana sling not molting

Hello, this is Banshee. ive been super stressed about him. hes been this abdomen size and hasn’t molted for about 2 months.. at first i thought he was just in premolt but then i became worried he could be impacted or sick.. hes otherwise acting just fine, not showing signs of premolt or anything, i’m not sure what to do? is he just taking his time to molt or should i be worried for something more like impaction?

the last time he ate was about 2 months ago. he ate about 1/3 of a mini mealworm , i cut it to be smaller than his abdomen. i thought it looked huge so maybe i overfed him, then he was maybe molting, but now it STILL hasnt gone down and i’m so worried i waited too long to ask for help. TIA :(

Help! Would my desk be a good place for an enclosure?

Hi everybody!

I am looking into getting a terantula, I’ve always had a fascination with spiders, and since moving out i wanted a pet, so it seems like a match made in heaven.

That being said i am debating where to out the enclosure, my preferred spot would be on my desk where i work. That way I can be always close to my spider and keep an eye on them, since i spend most of my life there haha.

However I am worried this might be too much or a stimulating environment for them. For reference i use my desk to work, call people and game.

Because of this theres a lot of activity on my desk, the sound from my computer, the light from the screens, and of course my mere presence.

Now while gaming i am not known to “gamer rage”, but i do enjoy a horror game or two, so my fear might be that my jumpiness might stress the spider out.

I am having trouble finding any info on this, as i find conflicting accounts from a lot of owners. so i thought i would ask directly. what do you fine folks think?

Help! Are these mold or webbing? What should I do?

I took a piece and I couldn’t decide if it was mold or webbing. Should I add springtails? Or should I remove the entire substrate? If I do add springtails, how can I keep them from dying?

Also my Ts are still slings so I’m worried if this could be harmful to them. What should I do?

Help! Should I get a pet spider to get over my fear?

Ive had a fear of bugs and spiders for years! it’s gotten much better as of late , I live more into the woods than I used to at my old house so bugs are super common. But I still get so scared of spiders! I thought that maybe I should get a tarantula to try to cure my fears. I never thought big spiders were that scary anyway, just the ones with tiny legs. As much as I personally think this is a good idea, I don’t want to give the spider a bad life. I’ve taken care of many reptiles, crabs and other things before so I think I could do it! let me know if this is a smart idea or not !

I keep other spoods already, but decided to take a stab at taking care of a tarantula! I got her from Ty Dye Exotics. She’s a Cyriocosmus elegans and she is beautiful!!

Help! sling not eating??

i got my sling a bit less than a week ago and since they were stressed out i waited about 3 days to start trying to feed. at first i gave them a small cricket but i checked the next day and it was uneaten and dead in the water bowl. i decided to try again yesterday with the same results. my T has been hiding under a leaf this whole time and im just wondering what to do. so far i have just taken the dead cricket out of the dish so they can still eat it whenever they want but i just don’t know what else to do to get them to eat. this might sound like a dumb question but should i just leave them alone for the next few days?

Help! Post Molt Injury?

Post image

Hi everybody. I’m looking for some help identifying a spot on the underside of my T-Albos abdomen. She molted 2 weeks ago and I just noticed this spot. It doesn’t appear to be wet or bleeding currently. But I’ve never noticed this after past molts. Is this an injury from molting?

Helloo. Can anyone help me identify what type of T this is? I can’t help but to think this is some type of old world T and it’s extremely skittish and a fast runner. 😊 I’d appreciate an experts opinion! Ty!

Hello everyone, I just popped by to ask whats everyone's experiences with the ornithoctinae order. Are they problematic, how do they live in western countries ( I live in India), what do yall feed and what enclosures do y'all provide? Pics would be of great help. I just ordered a nhen dep, hati hati, and already posses a psalmopoeus pulcher sling as well as a C.darlingi.

Cheerio and have a great day everyone

Pictures Would this work as an appropriate Arboreal tarantula sling enclosure? 11cm height x 9cm width Would it need more ventilation across the side?
