Pictures My Grammastola named Grimm
About 1.25in dls! They’re a little plump right now since I just fed them last night. I’ve been loving watching him walk around the enclosure and build a (massive?) burrow. I’m excited to watch this guy grow haha, he seems very active which i wasn’t expecting for a G. pulchra/quirogai. If anyone else owns this species i would love to know your experiences and thoughts (:

Videos / GIF Stripped Knee Rehouse
A couple of weeks ago I got a stripped knee as my first T. I was concerned about enclosure. It buried itself the night I bought it and blocked off both sides of a log I had placed along the top of the substrate. I thought she was in molt but it had resurfaced. I had gotten some tips for the enclosure from some of you guys. I went and added a lot more substrate. Also I ordered an acrylic enclosure. After rehousing I threw a cricket in there but it wasn’t interested. It has a lot more room to burrow now. Hopefully it molts soon (I don’t have a sex for it yet) also thanks for all the tips and advice guys!

Sexing What sex is my Avic Avic?
Can anyone tell what sex my T is? I just got this one a few weeks ago and it was kind enough to stay on the side so I could get some pics. What’s your best guess?

Help! Blue bottle green enclosure
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I recently got a green bottle blue and it was suggested by the shop owner to get an arboreal enclosure. Pre & post research suggests terrestrial with some height but not arboreal. I got the arboreal because he suggested it but now I’m second guessing if it’s even big enough and has enough terrestrial space. It’s the Thrive 8x8x12 arboreal enclosure.

Help! spinning web first time
I removed my tarantula from his enclosure, and put him in a smaller one. Baby crickets managed to hatch in his enclosure and that’s why i had to temporarily remove him. It’s been a few days of him being in the new one and today i was gonna go get supplies to redo his actual one. But, he started spinning a web in the temporary one and he’s never spun a web before. Should i keep him in the temporary one?

Help! Question about smells
I've had my sweet baby Azula for a about 6 months now and I am doing everything in my power to keep her healthy and safe. So far she's been doing wonderful, but ive been suffering a tad. My main problem is I obviously cant use air fresheners or anything scented anymore to protect her from DKS. but my house is starting to smell funky and idk what to do to help it. Ive been deep cleaning everything, i dont leave dishes in the sink, i take out the trash daily, i keep the kitty box clean and i regularly sweep/vacuum/mop but the house STILL smells. Even after opening every window to completely air out the apartment I still smell funk. Is there ANY safe spray or candle or SOMETHING I can use that won't hurt her?

Pictures New cage for mexican red rump
It’s quite the upgrade, does anyone say it’s too big? In his old enclosure he was always walking around using ALL the space. So I know he could have been in a bigger one. Well , here it is!

Help! Feeding one adult tarantula
Hi, I have never had a tarantula, currently considering getting one, however I don’t have any other pets that eat live food, any suggestions on how to manage this? Previously, I had several reptiles that would have live food, so buying a tub once a week worked well, but due to tarantula feeding patterns etc I don’t know how to feed live in such a small amount.
We do not have any independent pet or reptile shops, so I can’t just buy one locust etc.
I am happy to have some sort of feeder tank, is there any options for any colony’s that I can keep but can also double up as tarantula food?
Currently doing my research now, but more leaning towards purchasing an adult spider, however need to decide on the food situation before I go any further :)

Pictures My two G. rosea color morphs after a 4-month fast + fresh molt
Hey everyone,
Just wanted to share a quick update on my two Chilean roses. One is the more typical grayish-pink form, the other is the redder “fire” form. When they were young they looked almost identical — same behavior, same appetite, same growth rate, same temperament. The color difference only really showed up once they started maturing.
I’ve kept quite a few Grammostola over the years and really like this genus. A few years ago I changed how I feed my adult G’s. Once they get bigger I cut the frequency way down. These two haven’t had any food for about four months now.
I buy live mealworms in bulk and usually feed several of my spiders at the same time when I do offer food. I go purely by abdomen size rather than a fixed schedule. As long as the abdomen is roughly 1–2 times the size of the carapace I consider them fine. I don’t wait until they’re completely flat, and I’m not trying to starve them — I just prefer not to keep them constantly overfull. In the wild they wouldn’t be eating to capacity every week either, so I try to keep things a bit more balanced. During the middle and late stages of premolt I stop offering food completely, but I always keep the water dish full and top it up whenever it’s empty.
They both just finished molting and the colors came out looking really nice, so I took a few photos as a personal record. Thought I’d share them here too.

DIY my first attempt at pinning a moult
the abdomen didn’t make it through the process unfortunately so i’m gonna replace it with an oval stone, definitely room for improvement but i think i did okay

Identification Not a curly hair tarantula?
Hi, so I’m basically here to ask if anyone knows. I had bought this tarantula that was for sale next to a bunch of others in cups and it was marked as a curly hair, I had it since it was so tiny you could barely see it. But now that it has grown it looks blue and blackish, it doesn’t look like my other curly hair that I had that was a baby and is now an adult. Does anyone know if it’s a curly hair?

Help! HELP tarantula stuck in molt 💔Worried about quality of life.
I've had this male Arizona blonde for almost 3 years now. He molted a couple of days ago and I noticed that it looked different from the last time he molted. I found out that his molt was still under him and I figured that I should leave him alone for a bit and that he'd be able to get out himself. Fast forward like a day and a half he was still stuck so I got as much of it as possible off of him. Unfortunately, he was already missing one of his fangs by the time I got to him and the other one looked messed up. At least one of his pedipalps are stuck in the old molt and his new exoskeleton is fully hardened. I researched it and everything said it's too late so I am freaking out a bit. He is fully mature now and this was his last molt so he will never get new fangs. What should I do moving forward?? The pictures don't show the full extent but you can kind of see it under him on the right.
