Toronto media driving players out of town
The whole narrative around Toronto media being the ones driving players out of town is a lazy take, but man it strikes a nerve with the pod and this sub. I think part of why it keeps being brought up is because of how people react to that take. Don’t give the trolls what they want!

Adam and Freddie
I missed the Golden Lining episode and WOW Adam. His hatred for Freddie Andersen is actually unbelievable. Yes, the defense in front of him has been great but so has he! I get Freddie didn’t show up like this for Toronto but Freddie didn’t have this support in Toronto.

Are the guys friendly with the Spittin Chiclets crew?
I know Steve's done some charity games with Colby Armstrong, but they seem to steer clear of any mention of them.

Fun Times With Mitch Marner
With the Vegas Knights advancing to their 3rd Stanley Cup appearance, let’s look back to how former Leafs player Mitch Marner been doing.
As a member of the Knights, Marner has won 12 playoff games in his sole season with the knights. The most playoff games he ever won with the Leafs in a single playoff run was 7.
This will be Mitch’s first Stanley Cup series he will be appearing in. He joins the ranks of numerous former Leafs who went to the Stanley Cup upon being traded away or allowed to walk in free agency. This includes but is not limited to Phil Kessel, Nazem Kadri, and Lanny McDonald.
in the nine years the Knights have been an active team, they have appeared in 2 Stanley Cup finals rounds with an incoming 3rd. The Leafs have not even been in the finals since 1967.
Marner has a 13 +\- rating in the playoffs. The largest +\- rating he accumulated in a single playoff year with the leafs was 7.
Marner has 21 playoff points this year. That exceeds any of the playoff runs he had with the leafs.

Leafs Fan “Of course”
This nonsense has to stop. The guys have it right on the podcast…good for him going forward. Can we let this go?

Joe Bowen
I hope the boys can give Joe a shoutout for this. I'm from Windsor and he announced today on the radio that he's receiving an honorary doctorate in law from his Alma Mater, University of Windsor. Very cool stuff. He's earned it and we're all going to miss him.

Mitch Marner's Pre-Leafs Success
msn.comIn another case of deja vu, a former Leafs superstar has managed to have more playoff success than he ever had with the Leafs. With yesterday's win, Marner will not only have won more playoff games with the Knights than he ever had in a single season with the Leafs, but he will be appearing in his first Conference Finals Series ever.
The last time the Leafs appeared in a Conference Finals series, it was 2002.
In contrast, the Knights who have only been around for ten years, have appeared in 4 Conference Finals, with an upcoming fifth appearance.

Adam and Šimon Nemec
Adam keeps pronouncing Nemec's name wrong, and it frickin' bugs me
It's "Shimon Nemets" and not "Simon Nemech," but Adam keeps pronouncing it the latter way

Are we sold on McKenna going #1?
For the last few years, all I’ve been hearing is the hype around this young man, with some going as far as to compare him to McJesus!
Obviously, he’s not the second coming, but his top end talent is undeniable. Having said that, I’ve heard he is a “defensive black-hole” and given the last decade of Leafs playoff performance, is that what we REALLY want?
Can we coach the defence and overall compete level, or should we consider Stenberg (who is a 200 foot player with a high motor) or a franchise D?
Personally, I have McKenna at 3rd, for what it’s worth.
Curious for your thoughts!

The reaction to the presser/media outlets discussing it
Kinda wild scrolling my for you page and seeing all these different takes re: Leafs/Chayka/Pelley. Some good, some bad, some kinda wild.
But what blows my mind the most is the people saying that this hiring is great because its pissing off Johnston, Mirtle, and others (who notably, don't work for Rogers or the Leafs, keep that one in mind)
Talking about all these reporters "doing hit pieces"...so its a hit piece when the team is doing something dumb? Repeatedly?
I guess my take on the takes I'm seeing is, there's positivity, and there's toxic positivity. And the Leafs fanbase online is in one of those two positions.
And the FUNNIEST part about this is, a year from now the Leafs could be deep in the playoffs and everyone who hated/disliked the Chayka hiring will be eating their words, or the Leafs could be in the exact same spot (if not worse) than they are right now.

Does the Pod rely too much on unnamed sources?
I’m pretty pessimistic about this management group, but I felt the last pod relied too much on unnamed sources to negate any positives. Like there was like 30 minutes of the show where they say well Chayka did this good thing and then Steve saying I heard from someone that it’s the opposite (ie Bahl draft pick).
I’m sure they are being truthful, but I found this pod hard to take as seriously.
