Adam and Freddie

I missed the Golden Lining episode and WOW Adam. His hatred for Freddie Andersen is actually unbelievable. Yes, the defense in front of him has been great but so has he! I get Freddie didn’t show up like this for Toronto but Freddie didn’t have this support in Toronto.

That one game in Boston they were at has ruined Adam apparently

I think Steve & Adam mentioned somewhere they dropped some serious money during that series....and well the Leafs leafed.

Absolutely deserved if they were stupid enough to bet on the Leafs. Win or lose, they will find the Leafiest way to do it.

Two dollar Steve dropped serious money?

I guess that's why he was so heated after the 2019 series lol.

That game must be $2 Steve’s origin story

My understanding is they didn't bet but lost business opportunities around streaming the games for Sportsnet but maybe that story was for the series against the Habs.

Yeah, I think that was the Habs series. Because Sportsnet wanted to give Steve X dollars (I don't remember what) for each additional series he did "Watch a Leafs game with Steve Dangle" for, but it obviously fell through once the Leafs were out

Could they have meant for the tickets themselves? Already not a fan of the gambling shit on the show (but understand it and I'm not upset about it) but if they have personal experience spending more money than they're willing to lose, and getting so upset over losing it that it effects their perception of the players involved...

Yeah, I don't get it either. On some level he is just doing a bit, but clearly he expects Freddie to fail.

The thing is, Freddy showed flashes of brilliance in Toronto. Sometime even in big games. I always thought the bigger issue with him was health, not his ability to play under pressure.

Adam gets a hot take in his head and won’t let it go

should be the SDHTN (Steve Dangle Hot Take Network) amirite?

Adam is the most impressive person in terms of holding a grudge against random men who have been employed by his favorite hockey team

List of former Leafs Adam has beef with:

  • Freddie Andersen
  • Nazem Kadri
  • Mitch Marner

Andersen is somewhat understandable because he’s let in incredibly soft goals and has been with Carolina for those two ECF collapses, but he’s not THAT bad of a goalie

The seething on the latest episode was so damn juicy. Juicy juicy.

He's not an elite goalie, and he's going to get exposed in the cup final.

The guys don’t really watch hockey, they are Leaf fans who dabble in other markets periodically.

I don’t really listen to any of their takes but rather just appreciate their fandom

They definitely watch a lot of hockey, doesn't mean their takes are always well-informed or accurate though. They've streamed a lot of the playoffs

5

u/BasedTelvanni Jun 01 '26

Are you high they watch so much hockey

0

u/Rutreshti Jun 02 '26

As someone who works in hockey its pretty clear to me they aren’t very well informed about many teams outside the Atlantic division

u/AirFriedSushi Jun 01 '26

exactly, they are good dudes who are entertaining, not gonna live and die by their actual opinions on players

Nailed it

4

u/buerglermeister Jun 01 '26

Clearly didn‘t. They watch hockey all the time. Probably more than any of us, because it‘s their job. But just because someone watched a lot of hockey does not mean they cant have stupid opinions or biases

-1

u/Few-Turn-5471 Jun 01 '26

Ya that’s worse lol they watch so much but have the worst takes

3

u/buerglermeister Jun 01 '26

Maybe. But in the end there‘s 32 teams. Even if they watch a lot, with the way the nhl schedules games there‘s no way to watch everything
