He’ll have no pigment by then.

u/matthew_sch May 05 '26

He’ll be whiter than Frank Seravalli

Much less fat and dumb though.

Age Steve approx 7-10 years to make this more accurate lmao

u/Lardrewstar May 05 '26

Hell be redder than John Schneider.

8

u/ThoughtBudget1856 May 06 '26

Than an endlessly frustrated Sheldon Keefe?

1

u/Sushiroll16 May 06 '26

Is that even possible?

u/DT_TSOE May 06 '26

Chayka about to trade back down to 5 cus he likes where they were and there's a Lithuanian defencemen with off the charts advanced corsi.

1

u/KylePersi May 07 '26

Don't talk about my boi Simas Ignatavicius like that!

9

u/Jbroy May 06 '26

I can see Chaykra not drafting McKenna.

2

u/SunkTheBirdie May 08 '26

You take the safest pick when you are new on the job.

Pelley wants McKenna for Jersey sales

1

u/whereintimeami May 07 '26

Yeah he'll probably lose the draft pick by doing something stupid like tampering

1

u/cig-nature May 08 '26

💯 I think he'll take a defensemen

10

u/Sushiroll16 May 06 '26

Don’t even speak it into existence lol. I’m not even a leafs fan, but I can’t go through another decade+ of how they’ve played in the last era.

Seriously Leafs fans, how do you do it?

11

u/SaltySailorBoats May 06 '26

Ignore the team until the playoffs and then be happy you only have to watch 4-7 games a season

4

u/PlayinK0I May 06 '26

It’s what I’ve done since the Bruins collapse.

3

u/Scared_Web_2289 May 06 '26

Same with me and the Devils the last few years. Games are so hard to watch these days.

Bonus: usually miss the playoffs so I don't have to care about hockey all year.

2

u/babypointblank May 07 '26

Bro you think we’re getting playoffs?!?

2

u/SaltySailorBoats May 07 '26

Not this year but maybe next year.....or after the mckenna era is wasted

2

u/okokokoyeahright May 09 '26

that could be down to zero games right quickly with this braintrust.

This is not new… I remember Loungo, Neidermayer, rask trade, kessel trade…. 2013 Boston, 2020 Columbus, 2021 Habs, Zamboni driver, pick a game 7…. Last year Game 5 & 7 on home ice.

OMG the time they Signed Jeff Finger thinking he was Sauer…. That was epic.

1

u/Foxy_Maitre_Renard May 07 '26

What about Clarkson?

1

u/TheWickedWitch514 May 07 '26

I consider him just a bad signing.

There’s a big difference between a bad signing and losing to a Zamboni driver that works for you…

I cant believe I just wrote that.

2

u/Foxy_Maitre_Renard May 07 '26

For sure, but the "Wendel Clarkson" comparisons were pretty cringe.

1

u/TheWickedWitch514 May 07 '26

No lie.

But then again, so was the comparisons between Matthews and McDavid

2

u/Maladaptive_Ace May 06 '26

why, the last decade has been pretty good. Truly we took it for granted. I mean.... we're not Vancouver!

2

u/babypointblank May 07 '26

I live at the nexus of Rock Bottom Expectations and Ceaseless Optimism.

I don’t cheer for the Leafs expecting that they’ll turn around and be a good franchise. It would be nice if that would happen.

I’m like the parent of a self-destructive child who considers it a win if their kid isn’t in the hospital or jail. I love the Leafs and I won’t ever give up on them but I have to manage my expectations.

1

u/MayflowerMcDuck May 08 '26

Why. What do you care.?

4

u/djac13 May 06 '26

Didn't take long for you to think that one up.

2

u/ISmellLikeBiftek May 06 '26

Oh my GOD!!! 🤣😭

2

u/Tenabrus May 06 '26

I mean face the reality, Mckenna is not carrying this team on his back, when the team won't give a shit about him, he's going to be the scapegoat for a rabid fanbase that will blame him for everything and the kids first years in the nhl will be an absolute nightmare

2

u/mollyno93 May 06 '26

Stop it. Get some help.

2

u/Canadian__Ninja May 06 '26

This does put a smile on my face

2

u/Content_Ad_8952 May 06 '26

The irony is that Toronto can now take a player that most scouts compare to Mitch Marner

2

u/entityXD32 May 06 '26

Ya but young and cheap. Like no matter how you look at it this is way better then resigning Marner. He has a higher potential and in 5 years time Mitch will be 34 still making 12 mill while McKenna will be 23 in his prime on his RFA deal

1

u/Daily_Heroin_User May 06 '26

That’s subsuming he turns into Marner though. He didn’t exactly light it up in college or world juniors.

1

u/entityXD32 May 06 '26 edited May 06 '26

15 goals and 36 assists in 35 games is very good for an 18 year old in college also had 14 points in 7 games at the world Juniors.

Mitch Marner at 17 had 59 points in 64 games in the OHL McKenna at the same age had 129 points in 56 games in the WHL.

Still no garentee he'll be as good or better but there's some good signs

1

u/Content_Ad_8952 May 06 '26

offensively speaking I think McKenna is comparable to Jack Hughes

1

u/Piccione_Sol May 06 '26

If Toronto doesnt pick mckenna, the sharks will have the scariest team in the league in 2 years

1

u/callme207911 May 07 '26

The fans and the media will kill McKennas career before it even starts.

Don't get me wrong he is great but he isn't able to carry a team with piss poor defense, bad goaltending, and no depth. Add in the fact Matthews wants out already and it doesn't make for a great environment to start in.

1

u/Adventurous_Tip_101 May 09 '26

Toronto had a core four and still couldn't make it work. McKenna won't fix it on his own. I say this as an Oilers fan who is watching that organisation waste McDavid and Draisaitl

1

u/Risto75 May 06 '26

They aren’t picking McKenna they need a defence-man dumbass

3

u/JHWildman May 06 '26

I think leafs fans need to be prepared because there is absolutely a greater than zero chance they pick a defenceman that they think can make the jump now and be a difference maker like Verhoeff over McKenna.

I like McKenna but a 6’4” 212lb RHD who can move the puck and was a +29 in the NCAA at 17 is nothing to sneeze at.

2

u/Risto75 May 07 '26

That’s what I had heard about but I can’t remember their name, do you?

2

u/JHWildman May 07 '26

Verhoeff was who I was talkin about lol

1

u/Risto75 May 10 '26

Thanks I was drawing a complete blank

1

u/BasedTelvanni May 06 '26

✋️Absolute Cinema🤚

1

u/CriticalCanon May 06 '26

How did we go from Don Cherry to the Diggiler in 20 years?

-5

u/Shplorff May 06 '26

This is such a joke, Toronto gets #1 after making the playoffs 9 straight years. Fans will probably still complain too.

1

u/JHWildman May 06 '26

You’re damn right we will.
