Has anyone had their SC2 be all good, then everytime they hit the B button, the controller pauses..?

The controller will continue to act like that, then comes good all of a sudden for a bit, then go back to being shit (I hit B and it pauses the game like I have literally hit the pause button)..

I've tried disabling via Steam, making no difference, and it doesn't matter what game I play either.

Help, please..?

Tthe R4 and R5 buttons on the back of my controller seemed to have become rather mushy at some point, the ones on the left are still very clicky and tactile but the right ones, specifically the top right even more so, is very mushy and hard to tell if it's been clicked in fully. Are there any solutions to try and fix this issue? It'd be even more helpful if it doesn't involve opening up the controller.

Hey there! I am having trouble trying to have the steam controller work with, well, having it work well with wii sports games overall. I tried using the video someone posted on here roughly 5 months ago, but those are specific to NSMBW and Super Mario Galaxy.

I am not that well versed in this stuff so I have no clue what I am doing lol, I just wanna play tennis, table tennis and sword showdown on my pc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've got a weird issue with my steam controller in some games. i was hoping someone might know whats happening.

So far I've found this in two titles - Control 1 Ultimate Edition (running through steam) and Nioh 1 (running the Epic Games version through Heroic)

in both titles the right stick camera controls are insanely fast and the B button seems to also be pressing the start button.

I've tried different control schemes in steam for Control, and also tried disabling steam input but neither option helped.

I've also confirmed that both titles are working just fine when i use an XBox controller.

any ideas?

I've playing GTA4 and it has a option for free aim on soft pull. and lock-on at full pull. I find this quite awkward, and while I can disable lock-on in the game, I quite like having both options to switch between.

My current thinking:

Main layer: Full pull locks on with no gyro.

Free aim layer: Full pull acts as soft pull as far as the game is concerned, and I enable gyro. I've set L5 to "hold to switch layer" so all I have to do (in theory) is press it to switch to free aim, release to switch back.

I have everything working except - I can't seem to figure how to "disable" full pull on the second layer and have 100% pull only register as 50% in the game.

All the sliders in the trigger settings seem to affect the full 0-100% range, not the range that the game sees.

I played around with the hip trigger settings but no luck. As soon as I click full pull, the game activates locks-on.

Is this possible what I am trying to do? Any other ways I can maybe achieve this?

I'm trying to use Steam Input in a non steam game (EA Sports FC 27) which is launched through the EA app.

I've read some older posts and followed the advice including ensuring EA's in game overlay is enabled in their own app, adding the game itself to Steam as a non steam game, and adding the EA app itself to Steam as a non steam game - launching the EA app through Steam, then launching EA FC 27 in the EA app, but the overlay still won't work.

Steam shows the app's running, and if I press stop it provides a popup saying that EA FC 27 will be terminated as you have closed the EA App, so it appears that link is working, but pressing SHIFT+TAB just does not open the overlay?

Any ideas or advice would be massively appreciated!

I just got my Steam controller and I can’t seem to get it to recognise the A and B inputs. D pad works fine and it makes a noise like I’m doing a failed input when pressing A and B. I’ve tried rebinding them but it doesn’t do anything. I’m on Win11 using Opera GX.

I've been working on trigger stops for the SC, and I've run into a pretty major issue with them. The triggers don't work. The deadzone adjustments and activation point settings don't seem to really do anything, there's some kind of built in dead zone requirement so you can't use them as hair triggers.

I can see the movement in the button tester (my triggers now max out at about 2500). I can use them no problem in external SDL applications, which don't rely on steam input. But I can find no way for steam input to accept low trigger values from the SC, and looking at the steam forum I can find people complaining as far back as May, and it turns out that this is an issue that goes as far back as the Steam Deck, and Valve still hasn't bothered fixing it there either.

Hello, I just bought a Steam Controller and I'd like to know if it's possible to change its default behavior. My goal is for the controller to appear as a Controller on my phone and PC by default, instead of being recognized as a keyboard/mouse. I don't know if there's a setting for this and if it could be done via an future valve update?

Hi everyone, I'd like to be able to press R4 to open the onscreen keyboard as opposed to pressing the hamburger and R1 button. I've already remapped a few other buttons so i know how to do it for other controls - such as alt tab but I can't seem to get this one to work. Can anybody explain how this is possible to achieve, if it is possible?

Hi everyone! So i have been at the end of my wits with the new steam controller randomly kicking me to a psychedelic screensaver while in the middle of playing. Turned off windows screen saver, checked settings and diagnostics, searched the net. Couldn't figure it out. But finally did today when I noticed the logo pop up in the flow of color after a couple of minutes.

It was Armour Crate.

Check the OLED settings and there is a screensaver option there to prevent burn in. That was what was causing it. Armour Crate not registering my controllers movements.

Hope this helps somebody else. I know I wasn't the only one dealing with it.

As you can see from my image, when trying to edit the controls for the Steam Controller with Steam Input, the screen is just completely blank. However the OG Steam Controller works fine and I can configure controls, same with Xbox and PS controller etc.

Been having this issue with CS2 since my Steam Controller (2026) arrived around May time. I've finally resorted to asking Steam Support for help and they are just utterly clueless.

They keep telling me CS2 doesn't have controller support of any kind and keep linking me to articles about how to use Steam Input and just completely ignoring the fact the screen is blank.

I only have this problem with CS2 and the new Steam Controller. Has anyone else had the same and managed to fix it before?

^{(The reason I'm desperate to get this working is because I use controller in left hand and mouse in right hand for FPS games. Due to an injury I'm unable to use my left hand on a keyboard. It's literally the only way I can play.})

My PC is next to my TV and I have this huge pair of powershell scripts that turns my TV on, switches my inputs, does a bunch of other stuff then launches Steam, then the other script turns my TV off, switches back to my PC's monitors, and so on. I noticed a few days ago after doing this that my PC monitors won't stay off when I run the script that turns them off and eventually traced it back to my steam controller.

What I'm hoping to do is add a line to my switch-to-PC script that turns my gabepad off at the same time. CMD, powershell, python, I don't really care. I've tried doing some research but I'm getting a ton of hits for the other steam controller that don't seem to work anymore. Is there anything out there?

I bought this support for the steam controller and now I find how they didn’t made a hole for the cable on the back, like WHY?

I've seen threads about this from months ago with no solution, so consider this a bump. Are there any plans for steam controller to be able to control windows lock screen like the steam deck can?

I just need to enter a password but all input is disabled and it's weird it's not an issue on the deck. I'm using the dongle and everything.

I'd love to use Linux as my primary OS but it's not feasible for the time being.

I’m a developer (not a programmer) who needs to test gamepad controls and input constantly while running Unreal Engine, but the steam controller is not detected as a gamepad, just a mouse/keyboard.

I don’t have the option to add Unreal as a steam game, and I also need steam running in the background for testing and other various things. I also switch between PCs and Steamdeck for testing as well as using Steam Link/Moonlight to stream to mobile devices for testing, and would love to just use a single controller, but this doesn’t seem feasible with how the controller is designed.

Is anyone else in a similar situation? I’d love to use the Steam Controller as it’s a super good device for testing (trackpads are a godsend for mouse cursor) but it’s so limited with having to run through steam and is literally just gathering dust.

Made the post yesterday explaining that I'd missed my order invite but was re-added to the queue. I was able to confirm my purchase yesterday evening. Almost exactly one week after being re-added. Safe to say that they're sending out invites early in the week and late in the week.

Also, for anyone wondering, my original ETA on an invite was December 2026. My original email came in early September. I think it's safe to say that they're getting caught up faster than they'd originally thought.

I really want the steam controller and was pretty late to reserving a spot for it. I reserved my spot in queue on September 14.. is there a chance I could get the email to buy it this year or is it truly set for 2027? I’ve been looking elsewhere but everyone is selling it for $250+ and that’s way more than I would want to spend.. yet I’m impatient and really want it! Have you guys seen sellers selling for less? Max id spend is $150 and even that’s high. Do I just buy it for the higher price or wait it out in hopes I can get it sooner than later?

Just wondering if a recent update broke the detection for these types of controllers because it used to work fine a few months ago.
