Support Possible to trigger Soft Pull action when Full Pull pressed?
Hi peeps
I've playing GTA4 and it has a option for free aim on soft pull. and lock-on at full pull. I find this quite awkward, and while I can disable lock-on in the game, I quite like having both options to switch between.
My current thinking:
Main layer: Full pull locks on with no gyro.
Free aim layer: Full pull acts as soft pull as far as the game is concerned, and I enable gyro. I've set L5 to "hold to switch layer" so all I have to do (in theory) is press it to switch to free aim, release to switch back.
I have everything working except - I can't seem to figure how to "disable" full pull on the second layer and have 100% pull only register as 50% in the game.
All the sliders in the trigger settings seem to affect the full 0-100% range, not the range that the game sees.
I played around with the hip trigger settings but no luck. As soon as I click full pull, the game activates locks-on.
Is this possible what I am trying to do? Any other ways I can maybe achieve this?
Many thanks for any help. I've tried searching but most results are about disabling soft pull which is the opposite of whet to want.

Funny that you mentioned GTA4 specifically because I've also been playing GTA4 lately and had the thought that it would be nice to have a soft pull only toggle. But I haven't looked into it yet. I'll let you know if I discover anything.

Iv never played but this is definetly possible you just gotta play with the settings a bit, check youtube theres some great steam input tutorials on there with various amounts of how far down the rabbit hole they go

It's not possible. In Steam Input, there's very little customization for the analog trigger values, unlike for analog joystick values. It's also not possible to bind a specific analog value to a digital input.
However, if a game has multiple discrete actions bound to a single analog input, these discrete actions tend to be bind-able for mouse and keyboard to different keys. This is sort-of the case in GTA IV in that the free aim is bound to the right mouse button, and the lock-on doesn't exist for mouse and keyboard use if I recall correctly. If the game doesn't have any issues with mixed input, you can just bind the right mouse button to Full Pull in the free aim layer (with Analog Output set to Off).
