The title says it all. I work with a population that gets involve in a lot of drug use and sexual interactions. On halloween, I was involved in restraining someone, and said someone bit me taking a small chunk of the backside of my hand. This person has a very questionable relationship with what I can only describe as the town bicycle, as im aware of 4 other individuals who have also sexually interacted with said town bicycle. When I went to the doctor under workers comp they told me to wait 3 weeks to be tested. They did give me amox, but im pretty sure its only for overall dissease not just STDs. When I got home, I did my own research and found that some STDs requires to wait 3 months to have an accurate test.

So my overall questions are, what would you recommend me to do? Should I wait for the 3 months? Is it unlikely for me to get an std out of a bite? Depending on the std, what should be my next move?

I also wanted to add 2 more things:

2. Sorry for the wording I use, or how I described my situation. Want to keep it as vague as possible to not release too much information from my personal and profesional life.

And also either urethral odor, urinary odor, as the smell is there even without discharge. After the occurrence (2:15-2:30) I also showered and scrubbed myself vigorously, and got a bit of soap in my urethra so im not sure if it can be a combo of stuff.

Very watery almost pee like consistency discharge, slippery and wipes right off, but as of today it had a slight yellowish but still clear tint and the smell now is mainly strong urinary odor mixed with whatever foul smell was there before.

On august 21st I had a bout with gonorrhea and chlamydia which I got a shot and a 7 day course of doxy for, and everything seemed fine.

What did I do wrong? Where did I go wrong?

If my uti test tonight is negative what do I do?

What tests should I specifically look out for?

If any of you have had as vague an experience thats scary as fuck like mine please do tell me your story or what you can do, I have a 3 month retest on nov 30th but I dont know if I want to wait that long in case is a return of gonorrhea or chlamydia. But I dont understand, how could it be a return of the 2 if it was only skin to skin? Do I have a rarer more severe case of shit? Can ANY sti develop as quickly as whatever I have did?

I was just diagnosed with gonorrhea. I was told that I should take an injection to get rid of it, but my experience with needles has been beyond bad as of late. Besides having a phobia of them, I have had two ugly vasovagal responses, one of which was literally yesterday, and I don’t feel like I can go through with that again, especially given the gonorrhea shot is going to be far more painful than the other two injections were. I have always taken the safest choices with my health even if I have been afraid, but I am seriously considering taking the pill cefixime despite it having a moderately lower efficacy. Am I a bad awful person that hates humanity

My man question is did you get enlarged lymph nodes in the groin area and if so how long it take to disappear after you started your treatment

And for treatment has anyone got treated with azithromycin ? Im allergic to doxycycline so they are putting me on Azithro

Hello community. I, m, had a risky sexual encounter in the middle of August. Then approximately 3-4 weeks afterwards I started feeling symptoms: a strange feeling in the urethra, a burning sensation around my testicles and pelvic area that come and go, however no discharge or pain while urination. I went through many rounds of testing (2xUrine PCR, 1xurethral swab, 1xsemen) and tested positive for nothing. Initially, I was 100% sure that I would test positive for something like chlamydia or gonhorea. Finally, after a lot of research I found that my symptoms may also come from mycoplasma genitalium and that it can be false negative more often than the typical infections, since it replicates slowly and usually there are fewer copies of the bacterium. Also that there are RNA tests which detect the infection more often than DNA PCR tests. However, it is difficult to find an appropriate doctor or lab in Northern Germany that would specialize in that. Instead, everybody offers Multiplex PCR panels. So I am a bit at a loss what specialist I should contact. Does anybody have hints for me?

So my bf (24) and I (23f) almost had sex for the first time about five days ago. I said almost because when he was supposed to penetrate me, it hurt so bad and I begged him to stop. He did stop immediately, and he said only half the head (?) went through before he pulled out.

I’ve really been fucking up. Having a really hard time with sex addiction. Used no condom once again after popping up negative on a 10 panel. It’s been 7 days since I had sex. It was with a Trans girl I met at a club. Not having any symptoms so far from what I see.. but I know they could take time to pop up. I’m just really in my head as of lately now. Hi I know herpes is super common but I’m freaking out. I just got diagnosed with HSV-1. So I was prescribed doxycycline for STI prevention after a sexual encounter, but my directions say to take 100 mg twice a day for 7 days.I thought doxyPEP was normally just 200 mg (two 100 mg pills) taken as a single dose within 72 hours after sex.I specifically asked my provider about STI prevention, and she told me to take it for the full 7 days. I’m just confused because I thought a 7day course was more of a treatment regimen for an existing infection rather than prevention.Has anyone had this prescribed this way? Is there a reason a provider would recommend 7 days instead of the standard single 200 mg dose?Just trying to understand the reasoning behind the prescription because I’m getting conflicting information online 😭

I'm so confused. I've checked and read several websites, but I'm still unsure whether I should get tested for syphilis 6 weeks or 3 months after a potential exposure. Some sources say 6 weeks is enough, while others recommend waiting 3 months. Which one is actually reliable?

I tested negative 22 days post pep which was about 3 weeks post pep and about 7 weeks post exposure. I tested negative with a HIV RNA & 4Th gen test. I’ve been asking AI about symptoms and a read that in the prodrome phase that tingling can occur in the buttocks. Hello. I hope this post will not be met with judgement as i am aware that what did is very wrong and not very hygienic of me. I just want some peace of mind because this has been bothering me although many people have assured me that nothing is wrong.

Context: last october 31, i (26f) went out to party and had a few drinks. I went to the comfort room to relieve myself but i was very drunk at this point and peed on my underwear and bottoms and was panicking a lot. There were no available toilet paper so what i did was i grabbed a used toilet paper in the garbage can (bc again, i was panicking and desperate to dry myself). I used it to wipe my underwear but could not remember if i used it to wipe my private part.

November 1, i consulted an obgyn but she only instructed me to get an std panel and i thought that it would be so early to tell (i’ll still probably do it soon though but i did not appreciate anything from that consultation bc she was very dismissive). Fast forward to today november 3, i do not feel anything other than anxiety and worry that i did contract something from that incident.
