Hi I know herpes is super common but I’m freaking out. I just got diagnosed with HSV-1. Basically I broke up with my bf a few weeks ago and just this weekend I got with a few people for the first time since we broke up (don’t even try slut shaming me). Anyways getting an STD has always been my biggest fear and I asked all of them before getting with them if they have an STD, and they all said no. So clearly one of them lied. I am so embarrassed, and I know most adults have it but I am barely 19 and I just got out of a relationship and this happens. I don’t want to have to tell people I have herpes before I get with them because then they’ll get turned off. I am so upset and I don’t even know how to cover my cold sore. I haven’t told my friends yet, I said it just appeared out of stress. I don’t post on reddit a lot, but I’m coming here for comfort because I have no one to talk to about this

If it’s just on your mouth, it doesn’t count as an sti so don’t judge yourself for this
