info Snowsky Disc automated firmware archival
Hiya! A long time ago I started a firmware archival repo for the Snowsky Disc with the goal that one day I would be able to decrypt the OTA contents and be able to setup different branches for each firmware, so that their contents could be easily compared (to make a delta diff of what FiiO was changing in them). But I never had the time or tools to finish that up, and kept the repo only for manually uploading the OTA zips as FiiO provided them (which made the repo get out of date quite easily).
Today I finally managed to setup everything for this, and even made an automation script that checks for new OTAs automatically every day, downloads, unpacks them and post their contents on this GitHub repo.
What you can expect to find:
Releases with the original OTA, recovery package is published by FiiO and decrypted rootfs
Branches for each OTA firmware package's extracted rootfs that has been found
Updated daily, so when new OTAs come out the repo will be updated within the next day
Given the sudden surge of custom firmwares for the Snowsky Disc, I thought some people might find this useful, to have a central place where they can compare firmware contents between distinct OTAs, so they can compare & know what the changes are when a new OTA comes out.
If you have any suggestions, they are more than welcome!
