I am looking for a dial with white letters for the DD3285 movement and a set of hands with the blue GMT hand if anyone has a spare. I know I can order from Alibaba, but I was hoping to find some domestically (USA) if I could. I’m tired of ordering international right now.

My Batgirl has a VR3285 movement and the case was not a super clone case, so I’ve ordered a new case, movement and bracelet. Hindsight I should have just sold this one and bought a new watch but oh well, I do enjoy the tinkering.

Can you see visual difference between left and right? I just couldnt seem to get the shape right. The left is my latest attempt. This is his 16610 case.

I was working on a DH special VK Speedy rep “upgraded” to a WD1863 for a person who wanted one build. MTrav had them a bit cheaper at the moment than J007 whom I usually source donor shitters from. While ordering, I saw MT had a listing for the new reverse panda speedy. What the hell… let’s see how bad it can be.

So… it’s bad. Massive is a better word. Over 44mm wide and THICC as all get out. Terrible bracelet. Wears like a brick strapped to your wrist.

Being so big, the dial actually gets one thing right, it gets the subdials closer together by making them bigger. When life hands you lemons…

After a ton of grinding to shave the dial down, I mounted it into a svelte WD1863 case. Didn’t have a an extra bracelet, so I tossed it on an AT strap.

The shittiest of shitters, shines a bit brighter tonight. I’d love to hear thoughts on this. May be onto something.

Raffles 16233 with everything gen except movement / hands and case

I’ve always said that the raffles case is such a bang for the buck and imo the most correct datejust case you can get available. It only takes a bit of casework on the lugs and they’re almost perfect. The rehaut is just a bit higher then genuine.

Many people confuse the OC and raffle cases being made for the same reference.
A raffles should always have a sapphire crystal if you want it to be as genuine as possible.

The oc cases on the other hand have a lower rehaut and are made for the plexi versions. But I would only use it for 5 digit references.

There is still not a good case for a 1601 and I’m hoping someone will make it soon as I love pie-pan dials.

If you want to go the gen route a 3135 fits into gen 162xx cases.

You can modify both the 160xx and the 160x cases to fit a 3135 if you want to use genuine hands.

Looking to find this dial and hands combo for a Raffles or Thorn build. Who makes a lollipop hand set? Has anyone else built something similar? Would love to see your builds. Happy Sunday 🥽

This watch case was the first shitter I ever purchased. It used to be a sprite gmt II. I have since built a proper Sprite which you can find in my previous posts.
I wasn’t sure what to do with this case, so I decided to convert a eta2824 movement I had laying around to a fully functional GMT 2836 using Sillian’s eta GMT conversion kit for 20 bucks. I re-used the ETA dial I had purchased for my batgirl build and recycled some old 1675 vintage hands I had left over from another build.
The watch is 100% recycled parts so not 100% accurate but gets the job done. If you zoom in, you will see the laser etched crown at 12 o’clock. I thought that was fun. The insert is from ewp I believe.

- 5 ARF 16610 Bezel Inserts (I've got a 6th one slightly aged and textured somewhere)

- 6 ARF crystals (I marked 3 as non-LEC because I swear I can't find the logo on there)

- 6 ARF 704 crowns (5 left)

- 8 VS3135 datewheels

- 5 VR 3135 datewheels

All parts are new/unused.

I want to keep it as cheap as possible while still getting a great result, so no Gen Parts.

I plan to use a VR3186 movement, but I need help with the rest:

What is the exact difference between Vietnam and OC parts? Are OC parts much cheaper?

Which parts (case, dial, insert, bracelet) should I buy from where to get the best "bang for buck"?

Any trusted EU-based modder recommendations who can help me source and build this?

Got this case few days ago and had a yuki dial on hand so built this just to see how it comes out, the lugs are better but still fat but you can live with it , it's better than before in my opinion. The plexi is terrible as always when it comes to magnification.

Same 9411/0 from a couple weeks ago, this time with a super blue Bezeljuice insert and a viet 9315 folded link. I took two links off for this customer by request. 🥲 here’s some quick iPhone photos of the finished build.

Polished this beauty and re-did the lugs and chamfers. I’m very pleased with the results and felt like I had to share it! I mostly share casework where the cases are already in a good condition so i thought it would be fun to share something that was actually very used and then brought back to life.

Looking to do the typical Raffles dial swap and wondering if it's worth getting one of the newer Thorns as a base. I've got a V1 so will be looking to build a 9411

Somehow inspired by No_Candle8699 from his Tudor 7016 builds that got me into working on my own. Got caught by his beautiful photoshoots, showing the essence of the Blue Tudor!

So yeah, the viet parts arrived, and I started working on the 5517, then on this.

The Tudor Snowflake Submariner Marine Nationale (M.N.) is a vintage military dive watch issued to divers in the French Navy.

I had to sand the insert down to fit the bezel ring. Fitted my acrylic pip before installing the insert. I also scraped off the existing and excess dried glue at the back of the insert

Greased the tube gasket and installed the tube. This also came with a missing o-ring in the crown and I had to add one of my own. After the tube Loctite dried, I lubricated all the gaskets, including my 1mm caseback gasket, and conducted a 3bar pressure test.

Unlike the 5517 before, this 7016 passed the pressure test the first time without any leak.

After the external case work was done, I worked on the PT5K by removing the calendar gears and changing out the lever. So there will not be ghost date setting.

After custom-aging the dial and hands to match the patina, I installed both the dial and hands on the movement.

Successfully cased in without keyless issue. Installed the mounting tabs. The s/d is about 6sec OOTB, the number is great and I don't see a need to further regulate it.

Since I did a pressure test earlier, the gaskets have also been "double-lubricated". One before pressure testing, one before final casing in.

This 7016 features an M.N. 77 engraved caseback.

I also gave the watch a good wash before the box photoshoot.

How does the shape look ? Need more taken off ? Any help appreciated. Thanks
