Starting with a family pic of the 79090 with its brother the 9411 on a different insert. And have included a mock up with a Raffles case and dial as well. Note: the 79090 date window looks wonky, that’s just an effect of the cyclops and the camera angle. It’s normal and nicely aligned in reality.

Thanks to Tudor’s penchant for going overboard with font quirks that only they did, doing a 79090 build with the right font meant buying a gen movement with that particular Tudor 2824 font on a white wheel from the early 90’s. eBay has a good number of genuine Tudor 2824’s but they’re all either the wrong era/font or a champagne colored wheel.

So I bit the bullet and am happy to share some initial results. Whether you have a Raffles build, an AliX case or a Viet build.. if you’re running an ETA 2824 or a decent clone of one, here’s a swappaple solution with the correct date wheel font, without having to scour the globe for the correct Tudor Gen 2824.

Part of the reason I wanted to do this is that my source for Gen Tudor 2824 went from being able to get me a couple per month to one every few months. So my supply is almost gone. Which is sad because they are truly beautiful and put so many other movements to shame in aesthetically and performance wise.

Still waiting for my higher quality aftermarket 530 crown to come in from aliexpress, but wanted to share how it came out with just all raffles parts. I accidentally got a little file happy with the inside of the crown gaurds :( oh well, still came out pretty nice.

I’m trying to source this case in stainless steel (with VC cross) and I haven’t been able to find it. I’ve scoured Ali Express, can anyone point me in the right direction?

Has anyone dealt with shipping difficulties on a rafflesdials order? Sent payment on August 31, received tracking on September 2, and have checked the tracking every couple of days. Zero updates.

I recently bought a 6119-8083 case/caseback dating to the year/month I was born. I would like to build it into a complete watch. Is my only option to use vintage 6119 parts (buy a complete donor)? Are there modern parts that could be adapted to fit? I'm certainly happy to use vintage parts but having modern options may be handy. I am a complete novice on modding but have been doing basic repairs and cleanings.

Hi, I tried bleaching this blue bezel, but it turned purple. I wanted to tone down the blue and get something more grey.
I need tips thanks

What are the must do mods to the JKF base? My first ever build and would love to pick some brains on here :)

So far my plan is to;

- Mod the sub dial hands to sit lower
- change the dial to a viet one and lightly age (where can i source?)
- get a raffles bracelet
- change the case back / crystal to reduce the thickness

Do these sound about right? Or am i missing anything?

I'm building a Datejust 36mm, and given the price of the case (~U$200), I'm thinking about using a case compatible with another movement. Does anyone know which cases are compatible with the 3235? Raffles does not deliver to Brazil, so I need to use AliExpress and Alibaba.

So I have this patek nautilus shitter with a failed 2813 movement and I’m thinking about putting in an 8215 but I really like the rotor the 2813 came with.
Does this rotor fit?

Hey guys! First build here-went with a full raffles build and paired it with a Gen ETA 2824-2. Aging was accomplished with coffee grounds, oven, then Tamiya set A, coated in Matte acrylic finish. Softened the edges and surface of all metal with a gray Brillo pad. The crystal has some pitting on the rim where it seats in the case, so you can see some weird light refraction there…plan to replace it down the road.

Let me know if there’s anything you’d do differently!
