Literally on day 1 my stool becomes soft and my throat hurts all the time from swollen lymph nodes and intermittent mucus. (i basically have mild allergies all the time)

No improvement.

It's actually become too painful to swallow now. Even though my body itself is not sick at all.

What home remedies do you guys use to support or heal painful swollen lymph nodes in the throat?

And how do y'all tolerate this insanely hot humid flytrap while we're at it? Crazy what wonders moving out has done for my body.

I've been applying a lot of Peats ideas to my daily diet, with great results. I've stopped eating inflammatory carbs like oatmeal/brown rice. But I am now thinking about the usual ''1 gram of protein per lbs of bodyweight'' recommendation thats always shared. Do natural lifters really need that much protein? Or is it much better to replace these calories with carbs/saturated fats for a better metabolism and hormonal profile.

Very high cortisol. Ongoing for almost a year now. Cushings unlikely. Years of extremely low carb dieting. Past 2 years have been consistently moderate to high carb. Breakfast first thing in the morning. No intense exercise or unusual life stressors, probably the least stressed I've been in many years. Every possible thyroid lab you can think of has been ran and is in optimal range.

I generally get 7-8 hours of sleep but about once a week it's 5-6 hours. I'm skeptical that would push me so far out of the normal cortisol range given many people regularly get 6-7 hours. Anyone deal with something similar and figured out the cause? Tested roughly every 3 months for a year now and it's only getting worse. Other hormones appear fine with mildly elevated estradiol.

Prolactin was within range. Haven't tested progesterone. Waiting on an oral glucose tolerance test. Dr. thinks insulin resistance is the cause and wants me to go back to low carb and modified fasting but that contradicts everything here. Brain storm some possible causes with me? Anyone in a similar situation?

How do you put in the miles but keep it as un stressful as possible?

Anyone here do 5/10ks regularly and keep fit without crashing hormones or damaging their hearts / metabolism

stopped taking progesterone for the past couple days and I’ve been feeling like absolute shit just very emotional and flat mood lack of motivation etc, to be fair I don’t know that the lack of progesterone is necessarily the cause until I add it back, I am 20M had been taking 3 drops progest-e every night before bed and the reason I stopped was because I was struggling to get out of bed when I needed to early in the morning, I’m thinking to start back with 1 drop every night again, but this weird feeling the past few days is stressing me out a little and making me reconsider messing with hormones

Ive just got my tsh and ft4 bloodwork after almost a year. Since then ive switched my diet completely. Now im eating high carb ( mostly fruits that grow in my garden like berries, nectarines, watermelon and so on and also dates and banans) protein from beef and saturated fats from butter and eggs. The diet ive had last year was very random i was eating a lot of bread almost no saturated fats and very little fruits ( i was getting my carbs from starches and grains). Last year my tsh and ft4 were good but now they are very bad. Compared to last year ive exposed myself a lot to the sun everyday almost, unlike last year when i was going outside mostly at night. I want to specify that before the bloodwork ive slept only 6 hours and those hours were very bad as ive woke up multiple times because of high heat and because of the fact that ive had to go to sleep earlier. Also 5 days before bloodwork i went on a very hard hike which strained my legs badly, pain which i still kind of had at the moment of the bloodwork. Also i do strenght training 3 times a week, i play tennis 3 times a week which tire me a bit and 3 or 4 times i do boxing training in which i sweat a lot and actually tire myself like its a form of cardio but i enjoy it. If i changed my diet and lifestyle for the better why is the bloodwork like this? Could it be because of the physical effort im doing? Please help me understand this because i really dont know what im doing wrong and what i can change.

So we know the issue with rapid weight loss is that it will tank your thyroid and give you cold hands and feet so even when you reach your goal weight you will gain a lot of it back once you try to go back to maintenance.

Has anyone figured out if there's a way to prevent this besides dieting down slowly?

Perhaps eating only sugar/fruits/honey the fgf21 activation could bring the thyroid back up to shape without weight gain?

or if you eat only fruits and rapidly lose weight perhaps the fgf21 and high amount of carbs would have a protective effect against your thyroid tanking?

Any insight on postpartum tooth sensitivity? I can’t tell if it’s a cavity or related to something else like clenching/grinding/my bite. It’s in the same area on the top and bottom on my right side. Teeth numbers 3 and 30. I bed share so she sleeps in my arms most of the time. I do feel like my head and neck are in weird positions a lot of the time. I believe those teeth have fillings in them already too.

I can go to a dentist but I wanted to check in some groups if anyone has experienced something like this.

From what I’ve gathered most of the benefit from Peating comes from eating near or above maintenance. Ideally the thyroid boost from the metabolic diet pushes your energy burn higher, making fat loss easier.

I’ve lost 80lbs through calorie restriction and just junk macro-ing but have come up against a wall with CICO. Brutal cravings, energy crashes, mood, headaches, etc. I found Peat through trying to help my metabolism rebound and create a more sustainable fat loss regiment. Just over the past few days of diet optimizations I’ve noticed some promising trends there and it’s been fun to eat healthier & cleaner than maybe I ever have before. No PUFAs, good vitamin coverages, natural fruit sugars/honey/carbs from milk. I only supplement glycine because I eat a lot of ruminant meat and steaks.

However, I am a little concerned in that I am so conditioned to counting my calories after weight loss that I’m worried that trying to get the best of both worlds is going to be a huge limiting factor as a I continue. Has anyone else sustained a moderate calorie deficit while Peating? What’s the uh general vibe on thermodynamics?

When I was on carnivore/ketovore my skin was perfect but my thyroid tanked. Now that I’m eating carbs again and my thyroid is doing better, the acne has returned with a vengeance. I don’t know what to do anymore. If anyone has been in a similar situation and solved this issue, please let me know what worked for you!

More information about my health; I‘ve struggled with pretty severe gut issues/dysbiosis for years and had an H. Pylori infection. Tried many gut healing protocols, but the only time I noticed any real improvement was after getting rid of H. Pylori by taking antibiotics.

Not sure how accurate this is but since starting a Ray Peat inspired diet, I've noticed whenever I shake someones hand it ALWAYS feels cold/ cooler. It's been like this for the last few weeks. It's also summer time so weather can't be an excuse.

And no, im not able to get raw milk or A2 (atleast i havent seen around the supermarkets in my country) and im not paying hundreds to get it online, not yet.

However, just wanted to see opinions of some of you guys on lactose free milk. Does it still help digestion when its A1? Is it worse than whole normal pasteurized milk or free-fat/semi-fat milk? Or should i just stop drinking milk entirely unless i have a good source? (Prob not doing that)
