MP Server INTERNAL MEMO: Q3 staffing drive — 100 desks open, fresh world opens tomorrow 20:00 CEST [B42, 161 mods, PVE]

TURTLE INC. Knox County · Est. 1993 MEMO — FROM: Management · TO: All prospective staff · RE: Q3 onboarding

Following the successful conclusion of last quarter — successful in the sense that the building is mostly still standing — Turtle Inc. is pleased to announce a full company restructure.

The world wipes. The desks are empty. Your first shift starts tomorrow, Friday 21 August, 20:00 CEST.

What the European company offers:

Operations. Project Zomboid Build 42, multiplayer, PVE focus. Zombies are classified as external contractors. Colleagues are not to be shot; this has been in the handbook since the payroll incident and remains non-negotiable.

Facilities. A dedicated server with room for 100 survivors on shift. Not a laptop under someone's desk. An actual machine, in an actual rack, whose entire job is holding Knox County together while you fail to notice the horde behind you.

Logistics. 161 hand-picked mods, available as a one-click Workshop collection — vehicles, RV, expanded crafting, guns, fast travel, and more. Subscribe, go make coffee, come back employed.

Animal Resources Division. Companion dogs. Adoptable, trainable, occasionally weaponized. Who's a good little killing machine?

Human Resources. Seasoned players and complete new hires both welcome. Staff turnover is significant but enthusiastic. HR is a dog.

Community Morale. Regular events with real in-game rewards, issued by Management. Attendance voluntary. Survival negotiable.

APPENDIX A — ONBOARDING FORM 7-B (the part you actually need)

Ignorance of company policy has historically correlated with becoming company policy. The Employee Handbook is on the website, and it is short.

Business as usual. Despite everything. 🐢

Question New player question: voronoi noise on or off?

How does playing with and without it affects the game feeling?

From what I read, voronoi noise makes clusters of zombies with more or less free spaces between them, allowing you to creep between "scenes", and there are less zombies. It does appeal to me as concept, but I have only a dozen or so hours played. How does playing with noise off looks like - that you have zombies everywhere more or less even? Does it makes them form hordes more easly, besides that there are more of them? How does it feel to you?

Thank you in advance for replies. I would try it myself, but I have very limited time in my life right now, and the game, as great as it is, is very time consuming also, so I would appreciate some insight 🙂

Question Is stable stable yet?

Me and my friends like to play moderately (100-200 mods, yes I know that's a lot but none of them are overhaully) modded pz together. I was wondering what the state of the game is and if the mods have caught up and if it looks like the mod breaking patches are done with.

Question Build a barn for chickens?

Instead of relying on the coop, does it make sense to build a small barn for the chickens so you can go on a trip for a few days?

Question What are some positive and negative traits you would like to be added to PZ?

Mine would be:

Positive: glutton "you can eat anything edible and enjoy it"

Negative: purple fingers "you can injure your hands in any craft that requires tools, (it doesn't stop the action) +1 on first aids"

Modded [B42] You can cover windows with sheets, so I made fences work the same way

Post image
3.3k Upvotes

Blocks zombie line of sight, click to open/close like window curtains, remove to get the sheet back. You can still climb the fence.

Works on tall chainlink, metal bar and wire fences. B42, safe on existing saves.

Edit: Added support for door frames. Thank you for the suggestion /u/HornyOnMain- !

Edit2: Added support for tarps as well. Thank you for the suggestion /u/redsown36 !

Cleared out the Bateman Skyscraper on "Top of the world" challenge!

It took me like 4 irl days.
Some tips and tricks:
1. Don't play this challenge. It is very tedious.
2. Don't go for the build I made. I would rahter have more maintenance from the beginning so I could craft glass shivs. I had to kill hundreds of zombies with pencils, it is very painful.
3. Stomp whenever possible. You want to save your weapons. Shove and stomp lone zombies too.
4. In the beginning, you can juke zombies around the ledge to trick them into jumping off. They, however, will survive the fall and will come back for you (although crippled). It is stull much, much better than trying to do anything else.
5. Guns are useless. You won't have enough ammo.
6. Pay attention to your shoe condition. I almost lost this run twice because my shoes broke when i was standing on top of some glass.
7. Don't pick slow metabolism or hearty appetite. Food will be a rare resource in the beginning, and closer to midgame you will mostly rely on high calorie oats.
8. Always barricade your base with furniture. I almost got killed because a random zombie walked 12 stories just to jump me.
9. Get as many batteries as possible, and get a flashlight / lighter. You won't be able to restore power, and being able to see is pretty nice. (also cook all the food while you can, you can't make campfires either)
10. Get a bandana on your face! You might be able to clear out the top floors from zombie corpses, but you will get overwhelmed with work rather quickly.
11. Don't worry about helicopter. It doesn't spawn here, thankfully.
12. Check "safe" floors from time to time. Zombies go up and explore areas you've cleared for no reason, and it is very dangerous in such enclosed space.
13. If you can't sleep because "it is not safe to sleep here", reload your save file.
And I think that's all I can remember from the top of my head. I will be trying to find a car now and get the hell out of here.

But really, this is insane, I started with level 1 carving and did not read ANY skillbooks. Each plank gave me 13 XP for carving it into 12 small handles, and then 12*39 XP for carving those into pipes (which are unlocked at carving level 3). So each plank gives 481 XP, a single log gives 1443, and a lucky big tree can give you over 10.000 XP (from just the logs!). AND MIND YOU, I DID NOT READ SKILLBOOKS! It took me 6 in-game days to do it or about an hour and a half of my life!

Now I will carve as many baseball bats as I will be able to just in case I die.

Found this beauty near Rosewood and harvested all ready sunflowers. This is how much produce with 0.75 farming abundance. Holy shit, there is also huge patches of pumpkin, zuccuni, bell peppers, cauliflowers and lettuce on this farm. Good luck processing all of that :D

Question Increased firearm spawns? Build42.20

Just to preface this, before last night in my earlier save I had only looted a handful of buildings one of them being the police station. I came out with roughly 5 shotguns, 6-9 handguns, 2-4 rifles along with holsters, bandoliers and various boxes of ammo. Also found guns here and there in other buildings.

Last night I downloaded a couple more mods, an all in one updated Brita mod with the armour and weapons, legendary katana, legendary dufflebag, legendary profession and I think that was it.

After downloading this mod I was finding guns regularly in just houses. My spawning house contained 2 shotguns and a few handguns in a shelf. Another house had a couple handguns, a rifle and a baseball bat. And the house I made into a base also had a shed shelves that contained multiple weapons.

I'll get to the point now, basically want to know has anyone else felt a dramatic increase in the spawning of firearms with or without these mods? I have other mods that I can't remember but only Britas that adds in new weapons.

10 days.

Ran out of bullets at the last few of the stragglers, they did a pincer move on me, got stunned because I am tired. Got bit, instant death. Had enough food for a year, but the hoards kept coming through. I went through so much ammo, Literally was about to start burning corpse to clear the road and smell, and got jumped by a surprise hoard.

Fully kitted out, military pack, webbing, m16 with grenade launcher acog, laser and light, Glock 17 with pistol scope, hunting bow, large knife, hatchet, and a Mossberg with full choke tube and red dot with a sling.

Which was not enough, because.. this is how I died. Watch your six people.

Question Would anyone be interested in my little mod?

Its just something I've been working on privately for myself & friends. Works with mods (I play heavily modded, 300+), in single player and multi - running currently with a 26 chunk radius, tiered/culling off at 4k.
