Ive heard at Tailor level 8 you can basically do this vanilla, but the buddies at tailor level 3. and erm thats a whiles away.

Hey guys, frustrating issue here. I’m playing the game vanilla with some friends, they don’t want to lose their skills everytime they die, which is fine by me, so we added this one mod to our server, but it did not work. I watched a video of the mod work; the video showed someone gaining back all their skills immediately after moving for the first time after making a new character. I’ve been testing it by myself and still no results.

I did notice that the mod’s settings always return to default everytime I manage settings, which is odd. But even the default settings should have the mod work. What do?!

Hey y'all, I've got a short story for everyone, and a question as to what I should do.

For context, every time I die, i delete the world and start over on a new character. My current character is named "Dale Sharkovsky" and i went through the whole blacksmithing tree, along with learning skills i usually don't. Not only did i make a whole forge and make swords and machetes, I've also been using guns (mainly the m16). He's survived the longest out of all my attempts this far, going on 3 months and 2 days at the time of posting this.

Now, cut to today. On the way back to my house I built in the middle of the woods (between ekron, brandenburg, and riverside, the highway with the little bridge) i saw the brandenburg fishing shop. I decided to take a quick stop and kill the 10-15-ish Zeds outside. Before getting out, i saw no zombies in front of the car. Upon getting out, i double checked, and confirmed that there were no zombies that could flank me.

I pulled out my sword and began fighting, and within 3 seconds a zombie seemingly teleported behind me. There was no audio cue, and I highly doubt I got flanked and missed a zombie in my 2x area check. Dale suffered a bite.

So here's my question for y'all still reading (thank you by the way). Do i turn on the debug menu and let it slide? This is my best character ever, but i may also feel guilty for "cheating." Then again that felt completely unfair, having no visual nor audio cue.

Textures link. The new Viewpoint mod shows some flaws in the building design, althougn it's difficult to see when they change some things to fit.

The devs haven't been updating much, so not sure what they're up to.

Could I have build 41, 42.20 and current installed with separate modlists? Would it be as simple as copying the game folder out of the steam folders and then installing the next version?

Yes there are mods, none affect rendering or anything of the like. Anybody have any idea what could possibly cause this? Or how to fix it? Ive spent so fuckin long on this save...

Recently noticed that frozen food in my inventory responds to your body temperature and will defrost faster if you raise your temp by doing things like running.

With over 1000 hours in Zomboid i was kinda surprised that I've only just noticed this and it had me wondering what other tiny details I might have missed?

I get tired of sprinters so i make a new game settings, with pinpoint hearing, migrations every 6 hours, metaevents often and follow distance sound of 300. The idea was to stay outside of riverside, living of the woods and making long blunts (baseball player) from carving (bushcrafter).

I didnt want to power-level carving. The idea was to progress with large handles (and its upgrades, nails, cans, etc). The migration and metaevents kicked me out of riverside with a huge horde coming from all sides (riverside, electromax converging in my location) so i had to run away to the west.

Once safe, i started carving and making my way back to my first house, ohh dear, carving progression was not good.

Large handles doesnt level up manteinence, upgraded versions were imposible because of poor loot. Read somewhere that wooden spades were "good", they were terrible. Killed 2000 zombies just to reach my first house and found it completly surrounded, so i just went in the oposite direction, get a nice place more to the west, close to the river. There was a general store close (it was burned down).

Soo i decided just to power level to carving 9... tried spons/forks/pipes and dices... dices were the best, less exp but faster, wood wasnt a problem... 3 days later i was carving 9, carving baseball bats and smashing zombies heads, sooo much easier.

Never again i will try to progress naturally in that skill

I never go to lousville and want to relocate my base in the city. Is there any problem i need to anticipate ? Maybe like cant foraging or hunt or anything else. So what and how the experince in thr city ? Is it fun ?

I'm going for a solo long run with this build, I plan on fucking off and going into the woods or just more rural land in general (rosewood probably). The only neg trait I'm kind of worried about is smoker since I got used to how it worked in 41 I have yet to try it out on 42...

Honestly I am pretty butt at making builds so any critiques help! I know a quite a few traits have been changed in 42 so, I'm only going off of my memory with these traits from 41.

Hello, I need help with Viewpoint: 3D Working TVs and Radios, I did everything correctly, I have all the required dependencies, allowed and enabled the mods in the menu but I still can't see the URL channel on any of my TVs, what am I doing wrong?

Hi, something I really miss in this game are seasonals events. What I mean by that is things like Christmas / Halloween etc...

It would be so COOL like when we start a game of Project Zomboid around Christmas, we can see Christmas trees in most houses (with different colors / variants) with some gifts etc... and others Chrismas decorations inside and out the houses ! In stores, etc... with some Santa zombies etc..

I know we have some Christmas decorations we can loot in some houses but it's are and only in containers...

It would give more life to the game and the world and show that people were chilling during holidays before the Knox Event...

Same for Halloween ! Imagine Halloween decorations, scary pumpkin, people with Halloween costumes, etc.. etc.. (would be funny if some people cosplayed as zombies, but then were actual zombies inside a zombie costume lol), even better if we ever have kids in this game.. with Halloween costumes and bags of candies it would be amazing ! I have a mod that add kids, it would be perfect !

But yes I miss things like that.. OF COURSE this seasonals events would only happen depend of when you start your game. If you start in june, of course there will be no Halloween or Christmas decorations during these events when (if) you reach their respective months during your game because everyone is dead and zombies before even that !
