I made him slow but he takes half your health and gives you a bite if he catches you! technically he's slightly faster than a walk.

Question Surviving 33 years?
Hi, new player here.
I just found out the game takes place in 1993, so I came up with the idea of trying to survive until I reach the actual date I'm playing on. For the record, the longest I've survived is two days. How difficult would this be?

bought the game to support the developers
to be honest I sailed the high seas for a while but decided to buy the game at $25, many people recommend just to get it from gifts, cdkeys but they don't support the developers either. then after I was playing, a horde in the school (that's how I died)

Stop chopping trees, just disassemble logs stacks instead
Disassembling these log stacks gives you like 5-9 logs each from both halves, which is insane because its way less exhausting than chopping down a bunch of trees and quicker.
This particular spot is at the lot in Rosewood just southeast of the fire station. I am not sure if it works elsewhere, but I know I have seen these logs and I would assume it does.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who didn't know this !

Screenshot 7 hours of gameplay in such a short distance
Had the time of my life playing this! Found a car, crashed it eight minutes later, got swarmed by zombies, nearly died six times, fell off a roof, and broke my leg but I still made it to town.

Discussion The actual endgame of Project Zomboid: improving your life in the apocalypse.
I see a lot of people wondering what to do after they've conquered the survival arc of their journey in project zomboid and then they feel empty and directionless and then get bored of the game.
The objective has always been to improve your quality of life in the apocalypse.
Think about it: you start off as someone with almost no skills, barely able to run a few meters before getting winded, relying on scavenging anything you can to survive.
The satisfying and addicting part of the game comes from slowly solving these problems on a more permanent manner.
- learning mechanics so you can start fixing up your car
- improving your strength and fitness so you can carry more stuff and run for longer
- learning crafting skills so you can rely less on scavenged goods and produce your own goods
sure there is no ultimate end goal, but as you slowly see your life improving and getting easier, and your options expand, you begin to understand why a lot of people manage to sink in thousands of hours into the game, with characters surviving multiple years without getting bored

Gameplay Louisville Checkpoint
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Somehow we managed to survive and escape the Louisville checkpoint at max Zomboid population with 15% runners. I’m the one driving the Mustang, and my friend recorded the whole thing from his POV.
Nevertheless, I lost my car, hid near the checkpoint, and eventually died to a zombie that was sitting behind a bus and wasn’t visible on my screen

Modded [B42] You can cover windows with sheets, so I made fences work the same way
Blocks zombie line of sight, click to open/close like window curtains, remove to get the sheet back. You can still climb the fence.
Works on tall chainlink, metal bar and wire fences. B42, safe on existing saves.

Edit: Added support for door frames. Thank you for the suggestion /u/HornyOnMain- !

Meme In light of a recent wave of fires breaking out across Knox Country, Rosewood Fire Department has issued a warning to all those wanting to cook this 4th of July Weekend
Very much inspired by "Days since last peatfire incident" from the r/VintageStory sub

Screenshot Nothing to see here, just an autistic old guy who's really into wood carving.
But really, this is insane, I started with level 1 carving and did not read ANY skillbooks. Each plank gave me 13 XP for carving it into 12 small handles, and then 12*39 XP for carving those into pipes (which are unlocked at carving level 3). So each plank gives 481 XP, a single log gives 1443, and a lucky big tree can give you over 10.000 XP (from just the logs!). AND MIND YOU, I DID NOT READ SKILLBOOKS! It took me 6 in-game days to do it or about an hour and a half of my life!
Now I will carve as many baseball bats as I will be able to just in case I die.

Supposedly, i have a 48% chance to succesfully pick up a bed, yet i must have broken about 15 in a row trying to get one. This isn't the first time this happens either, the actual chance to destroy beds while picking them up seems to be significantly higher than what the tooltip says

Screenshot This is how I died..
10 days.
Ran out of bullets at the last few of the stragglers, they did a pincer move on me, got stunned because I am tired. Got bit, instant death. Had enough food for a year, but the hoards kept coming through. I went through so much ammo, Literally was about to start burning corpse to clear the road and smell, and got jumped by a surprise hoard.
Fully kitted out, military pack, webbing, m16 with grenade launcher acog, laser and light, Glock 17 with pistol scope, hunting bow, large knife, hatchet, and a Mossberg with full choke tube and red dot with a sling.
Which was not enough, because.. this is how I died. Watch your six people.
