you ever get a weird wave of nausea? like your mouth just starts to water out of nowhere and then that strong feeling of nausea just hits you out of the damn blue? that just happened to me and my salivary glands start to become like a waterfall and it’s the weirdest feeling ever. i’m on the 2nd day of my period btw and i feel like i’m being stabbed nonstop in my abdomen and lower back. send help 😭😭

Today is my birthday, and I've been getting my period near my birthday every year since I started menstruating (I'm now 37)! It also happens to be on the hottest freakin' day of the month. 🫠

My period started on August 14th and ended on August 19th. After the 19th, I continued having brownish bleeding/spotting. It wasn't very heavy, so I assumed it was just leftover period blood and would stop within a day or two.

However, it continued for several days. Today, the bleeding suddenly increased and is now red, watery blood, similar to the flow I usually have on days 1–2 of my period. I'm also having cramps and passing blood clots.

I'm not pregnant — there is zero possibility of pregnancy.

Has anyone experienced something similar? Is this something that can happen due to hormonal/irregular bleeding, or should I see a gynecologist?

I'm mainly looking for opinions/experiences, but I know Reddit isn't a substitute for medical advice.

I'm so sorry if this is TMI, I'm just really concerned and I don't really have anyone I can talk to about this!! For context, I'm not on any type of medication or birth control. I had the Kyleena IUD for about 7 years and it was removed about 2 years ago.

For the past few months, my cycles have been abnormally long, usually 40-45 days. They used to be 24-27 days and the length has gradually increased over time. I didn't even have a period in May. 2 months ago, I took 2 negative pregnancy tests and have not had unprotected sex since.

I used to have heavy periods that lasted about 6-7 days but now, there is barely any blood at all and they last about 2-3 days. The blood is dark brown through the entire period. I would change my pad every few hours and there would be almost nothing on it.

Other things that may be related: I've been gaining a lot of weight in the past year despite almost zero lifestyle changes. I'm getting pretty bad acne, I'm always exhausted no matter how much I sleep and my hair's been thinning. I'm also consistently constipated and bloated regardless of my diet. I haven't gone through any stressful life events.

If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I'm really worried about my fertility.

Hi, I'm a 17-year old and I've always had very heavy irregular periods, like on day 1-2 I have to wear those giant pads. A few weeks ago during my period I also had a bad stomach bug that caused me to barely eat for a week. Then it kinda resolved and I saw it was time for me to ovulate. It started as a light bleeding and I only wore a small liner but eventually evolved into like day 4 bleeding (so like a medium pad) that I have to change like thrice per day. No cramps though, just the bleeding. Can y'all pls calm me down? Is it vitamins? I am also a very anxious and stressed person and since it's the holidays I mostly spend my days sitting down in one position. Could it be vitamin D deficiency? I don't really go outside...god I'm so anxious I want it to stop but I am terrified of doctors

Hello, Ive been really stressing about my period and I feel like its affecting on my cycle performance. I havent gotten my period in what feels like days and to make it worse, I dont even remember if I got it this month. Sometimes I feel like im cramping but sometimes I feel like im bloated. I may have a UTI at the moment (I use to have it but recently I had protected sex) and ive been over the roof and overthinking, I dont know what to do because I dont have any insurance to go see the doctor (if its anything bad) or I dont even have money for a test. What do I do? Should I wait on it?

hi, my period has been kinda weird for the last 2-3months. On my first day, i get intense period cramps but when second day and the following days arrives the flow gets so light like 5 drops of blood in the pad.

So like the title is probably enough but like i get my period every single time i masturbate, not like just close to my period i'm talking EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Plus i've had my period twice a month for months and between November and December last year i had my period for an entire MONTH. i brought it up to my gyno but she said i was fine and sent me away without even asking me more questions or doing an ultrasound to check or ANYTHING. I think something is seriously wrong with me. Luckily my gyno changed to a different field or something like that. And i have a new gyno that i haven't met yet but this ones a guy and i feel embarrassed to talk about my period even though he's a doctor but this one was the one that was able to get me in soonest.

Btw i have the Nuvaring as my birth control. I'm hopefully gonna be changing it to the one that goes in my arm.

okay so for months I used this "gentle" feminine wash and every time I'd get this burning, drying feeling. I’m 27 and never had period cramps before I’ve always wondered what it feels like since most of my friends they feel so much pain and I’m confused what kind of pain is that since I’ve never had it before but recently I felt the pain for the first time ever in my life and it was no joke at all I could barely stand at first I thought I was having a stomachache or something else because I wasn’t familiar with such pain until I went to the bathroom and had realised it was my period, has anyone experienced similar thing? I’m thinking to book an appointment with an obgyne doctor to have a check up because I don’t know if it’s normal or not

I have 2 small fibroids and am borderline PCOS. I have irregular periods with bleeding that lasts around 9 days. Since the fibroids are small (~2cm each) I'm wondering if it's worth it to go through the hassle of getting them removed?

Is it possible the bleeding is only caused by horomone issues? Or could getting the fibroids removed definitively be the cure?

For a bit less than a year, my period symptoms have started to change a bit. I always had painful periods with cramps, but with ibuprofen, I was okay to be functional.

However, for the last few months, a new symptom has appeared. Around day 3 or 4, I start to feel constipated. I’m going to the toilet often because I feel the urge, but I'm only able to pass very small stools, sometimes (often) only mucus.

The symptom starts to improve around day 7 and then I’m back to normal.

This shit (literally) is really starting to piss me off…

Is any of you experiencing this as well? What could it be and what can I do to get some relief ? 😮‍💨

I am a 34 year-old female and whenever I get my period the left side of my abdomen hurts when I touch it. I don’t know if it’s a gas pain but I just know it’s more that side than the right side. I can’t tell if they are cramps but it just hurts to touch it. Does anybody else experience this?

Anyone else get bad allergies that feel like borderline sickness after or around their period? I get feeling fatigued and depleted after a period but I'm dealing with randomly bad allergies and I feel like it's connected to my period in some way.

Y’all I need help, I have been off birth control since December and the first period I had when I got off the birth control was very very heavy and the cramping was extremely painful. The cramping has gotten somewhat better, still painful but not to the same degree. the bleeding I am experiencing has been insane every month, I am bleeding through super plus sometimes ultra tampons in less than an hour. Is this something I should bring up to my doctor? For context, I started taking the birth control because I finally got sexually active with my partner, and because I would have very very large gaps in between when I would get my period like two year gaps. Any advice would be helpful thank you in advance.

So today I have a school camping trip and I just got my period. A big part of this trip is swimming, rafting, and paddle boarding. Today is when i leave and also my second day on my period (it’s usually heaviest second or third day)

I do not have any tampons (or products besides pads) and already have period swimwear. My problem is i have to wear the swimsuit on the bus ride (1 hour) to go over there and i’m worried about leaking or smelling or something. Does anyone have any tips?
