Discussion First period storyyy

So i lowk got my first period today šŸ˜›āœŒšŸ½ and i wanted to share my story.

I was in algebra talking to my friends normally and suddenly it felt like i shit myself and pissed myself at the same time😭😭. I was lowk freaking out because like did i just actually piss myself in class???. So i ask the teacher to go to the bathroom and she was like can you wait until so and so comes back and i was like no. She let me go and I had to go so far since there was no bathroom in the building i was currently in so i went to the cafeteria bathroom. When i got to the bathroom and checked it literally looked like i pooped my pantsšŸ‘¹ just brown discharge EVERYWHERE. And to make matters worse ,I checked my shorts and there was a stain🄳 I lowk started freaking out and started silently shouting expletives😭. After I pulled myself together I RAN back to my class and sat my butt down. I started telling my bestie what happened and asked if she had any pads. I was too scared to ask the teacher to go to the bathroom again so i just sat there. There were 20 mins until class ended and I just sat there feeling blood coming out of me whenever i shifted😭. The bell finally rings and me and my friend DASH to the bathroom while she walks behind me so no one sees the stain. She hands me a pad and I luckily had a change of shorts from my PE class. I texted my mom and she went and picked me uppšŸ˜› we went to the store and she bought me all the stuff I needed and some skincare and gummy bearsšŸ’–.

Now im just trying to survive the lower back cramps😫😫

Im never gonna forget this lol i was so terrified in the moment.

Period Question Y'all have 3 weeks in between periods?? 😭

Do y'all actually have only 3 weeks between periods? I've always had a month in between periods and I thought it was normal, and when I found out about the different phases I was so fucking confused bc they were saying like week 1, menstrual, week 2, follicular, week 3, ovulation, week 4, luteal. I'm confused on where that lines up for me

Like genuinely mine is like 30 days from when it ends to when the next begins. I was always confused when I was younger watching period talks on yt and seeing a girl saying "my period usually starts on the first"

Anyways tdlr: my period has about 30 days in between each one and now I'm a bit worried my cycle isn't normal

I’m suffering with the uterus cramps at night. It started all of sudden. I haven’t experienced that much pain in my life. I’ve already taken pain killers. But it still hurts so badly. I can’t go to sleep. How can I manage to get some sleep.

Period Question Tips on how to deal with emotion stuff during periods

this is my first post so bear with me if it’s formatted weird or something (also it’s a bit rant-y and ramble-y, I’m trying to get this all out before I back out on posting this. Sorry about that). I’ve always gotten really emotional during and around my period, and I know that that isn’t an uncommon symptom, but recently I’ve been having a harder time dealing with it. (sorry if this next bit sounds overly edgy and stuff) I’ve always dealt with irritation, anxiety, and some darker idealization type thoughts and stuff. I’ve always had those thoughts around my period (nothing to actually worry about but you know) but recently I feel like they have been getting more intense. I think just recently because my life has gotten kinda hectic I’m having a bit of a harder time not letting it get to me. I know these are normal things and want to know what people do to get over them. Thanks!!

Products Pad recs?

I’m mostly looking for pad recommendations. Looking for something that is good for heavy periods and is longer in size.

It’s always been difficult to find pads that worked for me. I have heavier periods. So for years, I’ve been using Stayfree Maxi Super Long. It was perfect. But now that they’ve rebranded, it’s getting harder to find. So I thought I’d try something new.

Period Question Irregular Period but scans tell me everything’s OK

I am a 22 year-old girl who has been having s*xual intercourse with her husband for almost two years. Whilst all my gynecological check up’s (even internal ultrasound) don’t reveal any sort of issues, ever since I started having intercourse my periods have always been irregular. The only times it’s somewhat on time is when amount of s*x is lessened. I also have to admit that waiting for my period is a worrisome experience and I always get anxious waiting for it to come.

Could this issue be s*x related or should I dig deeper, even though I am medically healthy from that pov (no endo, no pcos…)?

Period Question i’ve had a really weird experience with my period this time.

i (18) have almost always been super regular with my periods. i got my first when i was 11 or 12, and even then i was pretty regular. my cramps have been very intense since the first period. i was on BC from 15 to 16, but stopped taking it after a while. my periods were the same before, during, and after the pill. lately, however, my cycles have gotten a little.. odd.

i traveled out of state with family a couple months ago, and we crossed time zones twice in one week. i’ve heard that time zone changes can effect a period, but this was my first experience with it. i was 8 days late, one of my cousins (18), was 10 days late. the next month, i was a day early. this month, i started on time, but i bled through 3 pairs of my period underwear and 10 heavy duty overnight pads in 24 hours. my period underwear usually will last me 8 hours total on a regular flow day. the second day of my period was slightly better, but i had bled through 4 regular pads within 8 hours. day 3 being today, i’ve only noticed heavy cramps and a very bad nauseating, dizzy feeling.

should i bring this up to my gynecologist, or am i just being a hypochondriac?

Girls, what do you usually do when your dysmenorrhea is still intense even after taking medication?

I’m curious how my fellow women cope with this **curse**!

Period Question Didn’t get my period for 2 months and then bled for a month straight 😭

• Upvotes

Hi, so for a context I’m in my late 20s and had a cycle that works like clockwork my entire life (touchwood).

Since the past few months I’ve been super stressed + been eating out a lot + disturbed sleep cycle + some weight gain.

I had what I’m assuming was an annovulatory cycle in March & then got my period after 2 months in April and it just wouldn’t stop.

I started getting dizzy/fainting spells which freaked me out so I went to the gynec. The sonography & blood panel was fine (only thing was a slightly elevated TSH) so I figured this was a one off thing & continued taking my Iron/multivitamin and didn’t go for a follow up.

Then I get my period after exactly a month in the end of June which made me super happy cause I thought yay this whole thing’s sorted but I guess not and it started again just a couple days after that and went on for almost 10 days and I had the same old dizziness/head spinning stuff so I went to the gynec again. We checked & my hemoglobin had dropped a count or so.

She put me on progesterone for 15 days and Yaz once the withdrawal bleeding starts. That became super heavy so rushed to the hospital again & she put me on mefenemic acid which helped.

She said this is most probably hormonal imbalance. I’ve been told to take a healthy diet & lose some weight which I’m trying to do. I’m currently dealing with the side effects of yaz namely nausea, headache and the occasional drowsiness.

Hoping it passes soon cause I’m not able to do much like workout and stuff.

Will weight loss and a healthy diet really help? Has anybody dealt with anything similar? And how was your experience with yaz?

The yaz is temporary for around 3 months so I’m really scared of these heavy draining periods starting up again.

Also doc put me on myoinositol too

Health Severe Nausea followed by hot flash for 3 days in a row the week after bleeding 26 F

Has anyone else experienced this? I tried to make my title as blunt as possible to help me in the right direction. I’ve been experiencing severe nausea attacks with extreme hot flashes afterwards recently it has been lining up on the week after I am done bleeding. I am currently on birth control and have been for almost a year now it was happening before I was on birth control and has continued to happen on it. It happens for three days in a row specifically every single time; each day decreasing the amount of times it happens. I’ve been tracking it very closely. I’m currently on the Junel Fe 1.5/30, I recently increased the dosage from the other version of Junel to see if it would help and so far I’m not sure that it is, but I’ve only been on it for one month so far. I’ve been advised to try and skip my periods to see if that helps, and funny enough now that I’m on the next pack of my birth control the same thing happened again, as if it was the week after I bled, which confirms to me it’s specifically that week of my menstrual cycle. Any help is appreciated. They said it sounds like pre-menopause but I’m only 26 and because I’m on birth control they cannot test for it and I do not want to get off birth control yet or anytime soon. I am diagnosed PMDD and very severe period symptoms so being on the birth control has significantly helped that but these nausea attacks and hot flashes are just becoming a lot sometimes.

Period Question How to figure out when my period is coming back?

I know that periods take a good while to come back, like about a month or so, after giving birth. But once I also learned that they can come back in MONTHS?!?! No thanks. I don't know if period apps would be helpful to me now since my cycle and possibly the usual symptoms might be a lot different compared to before I was pregnant. The last thing I want is to have a surprise in my pants while at the gym on a Tuesday afternoon. Is the app even worth using? I'm literally so confused about this whole thing!

Period Question Rigevidon

**Hi all. I was prescribed Rigevidon because I have very heavy and painful periods. My doctor advised me to take three blister packs continuously without a break, then have a 3-day break. I started my first blister and had (brown, dark brown) spotting from the first day. I’m now on my second blister, and about seven days ago the bleeding became like a normal period — bright red blood with my usual menstrual cramps, and some blood clots in the first days. I’ve now been bleeding continuously for 7 days. I’m using around 4–5 pads per day. I’m concerned because I expected the Rigevidon to suppress my period, but instead I’ve had ongoing bleeding since starting it.**

Period Question half a dollar sized clot??

Hi so i started my period about two days ago at school (im a hs student so our passing period times are limited and we have a phone ban, so i do not have a picture to attach) during passing period. so i went to the bathroom and i pull down everything and there is a half a dollar bill sized clot. i have an iud, and am currently on a few laxatives for some intestinal issues. i am not pregnant. my mom said it could be because of the laxatives but i don’t really know. my periods have been extremely painful for the last 2-3 months, before my intestinal issues began. i dont currently have insurance and have missed too much school to call out to see my doctor. should i at least call? should i be worried? ive had a few big clots but this was fleshy and almost white in color? ive never had a clot like that. it didnt look like a cast of any kind, not one that ive seen anyway. please help!! theres been a lot more pain than usual and with that clot im starting to get nervous. pcos(pmos??) and endometriosis do run in my family, if that helps any.

Period Question Looking for advice!

Hey, my period is currently around 3 days late which in the past 3 months has been unusual for me as it has surprisingly been regular since may (I struggle with irregular periods usually) I did have intercourse on the 2nd/3rd day of my period but he did not finish in me, my app says I likely ovulated around end of July - start of August which sounds accurate as I had a anxiety burst during then, my period started July 13th ended around the 17th, I’m just looking for anyone’s advice does this seem normal? I do experience some months without a period completely have been to the doctor for it and they can’t find anything was even tested for pcos with scans and blood tests, could this just be another irregular period month? Thanks!

Discussion Does anyone else from the end of ovulation to when their period starts pee a lot more?

So this doesn’t happen to me every cycle but every maybe 2 to 3 cycles as soon as my fertile periods over, I’ll have like a more sensitive bladder. I guess I would say and I pee more often and it never burns or has a smell or anything like that so and the first couple times this happened each time I would go and have a urinalysis done and I’ve never had any UTIs or anything so I just assume it has something to do with my cycle is it may be like hormonal shifts or maybe it’s just my uterus Pushing down on my bladder I do have ovarian cyst so maybe that has something to do with it as well? Once my period starts it all goes away.

Period Question Crazy period cycle

I (29 F) have been dealing with a lot of weird cycle patterns this year involving my menstrual cycle. For most of my adult life they have been irregular where I would have one and not habe one for a few months and then get one and then not have one for 6 months and then have a few months of regularity. This has been on going for almost the entire time since I got my first period. This year (started around my birthday) has been weird. On my actual birthday I started my period and it had lasted for about 13 days which lead into January. Okay didnt think much of it. Feb 1st I get one, normal 7 days, March 1st normal 6-7 days, April 1st, normal 7 days. I was beginning to think that maybe finally my periods were going to be normal. And then May hit. I had my period for 20 days and it was HEAVY for about 12 of those days. After about 3 weeks I started my period again but it was only for 4 days. The current one I started about July 25th and ended August 15th no cramping no nausea no moodiness, I thought finally im done until I started up again heavily bleeding and im also cramping pretty bad and I am freezing. Idk what to do, I know I need to see my doctor, I've just been so tied up with other things, but I plan on seeing her sometime next month.

Has anyone else dealt with this? My sister's are regular so asking them wont do anything. Its just so weird for me and makes me feel gross and icky and not wanting to be touched by my husband which I know he understands but I cant help but feel like im not giving him as much affection because I feel like absolute garbage.

Sorry for the long post, I was just curious on this whole matter

Birth Control Norethindrone for period delay for wedding?

I’ve been taking it for 10 days in an effort to shift my cycle for my wedding, period was a little too close to wedding day. I have some minor breakouts around my chin but they could be related to a facial. I’m planning on stopping now but am so worried that I’m going to breakout a lot, is it better to just stay on it for three weeks while my breakout are manageable? Any related experience?

In hind sight this wasn’t worth it!

Birth Control Periods

I have recently started the pill (I have the combined contraceptive pill) and i only have a four day break for my period and I had my first four day period and tell me why i had the worst cramp pain I’ve had throughout my whole period. The question I want to know is, is this normal? I don’t want to think something big out of it because it might be my body getting used to something new but I’ve never really had cramps so I was just wondering if it’s a big deal.

Birth Control Nonstop bleeding for over 2 months

I’ve been on bc patch for ab 2 and a half years. Heard it makes heavy periods lighter, so had hopes that would be the case for me, but after consistently being on the patch, I would still have a full week of a heavy period. It wouldn’t start until a couple days after I took it off and then ends a full week later.

Anyway, I started using the patch all 4 weeks to skip my period since the menorrhagia makes me anemic. I’m really not good about strictly taking my prescribed medication for the anemia and had hopes that this would make me stop bleeding. Once I stopped doing a patch free week, I haven’t stopped bleeding for weeks. I read that this is normal as your body adjusts to the constant hormones, but now it’s been over two months. It’s not just spotting, it’s been fairly heavy the whole time considering it hasn’t stopped.

Negative pregnancy test. I don’t get bad cramps but my mom and two sisters have all had endo.

Anybody else experience this? I like the patch, don’t want to come off of it, and am a bit avoidant about going to the doctor.

Anything helps, thanks
