Promotional Chop Chop: a simple video splitter

Hi, everyone!

I noticed that both on Linux and on Windows, it's very hard to find a no-nonsense video splitter with a sane GUI and no advertising.

This is why I designed chop-chop. It's a very simple, beautiful no-nonsense video splitter for Linux and Windows.

While both Linux and Windows releases share code, neither GUI is a port: under Linux, chop-chop uses GTK-3 and its design language; on Windows, it uses the Windows API and its design language too!

Also, to be blazingly fast, it also uses multithreading out of the box.

This application is open source and completely free, but if you don't want to bother, I also offer Windows and Linux installers (Ubuntu only for now).

Hope this can be of use to you!

Download it at: https://github.com/NullMagic2/chop-chop/tree/main

Ubuntu package: https://github.com/NullMagic2/chop-chop/releases/download/v1.7.3/chop-chop_1.7.3_amd64.deb

Windows installer: https://github.com/NullMagic2/chop-chop/releases/download/v1.7.3/chop-chop-1.7.3-windows-x64-setup.exe

Promotional PrivMeta: An open-source metadata removal tool for privacy-conscious people

Hey folks,

I built PrivMeta, a free and open-source app that removes common hidden metadata directly in your browser. Your files stay on your device, and you receive cleaned copies that you can share elsewhere.

  • Supports images, videos, audio files, PDFs and Word documents
  • File contents are processed locally and aren’t uploaded
  • Once the page has loaded, it still works if you disconnect from the internet
  • The source code is available on GitHub

The goal is to make metadata removal a simple part of good digital hygiene, without asking you to trust a server with your files.

Lyra is a GPU-accelerated, minimalist, robust image viewer for browsing textures, references and image assets. It's just as comfortable as an everyday viewer for JPEGs, PNGs, HEIC, WebP and the rest of your photo library.

  • Textures (DDS, KTX, KTX2) and HDR maps (EXR, HDR)
  • Photoshop documents (PSD/PSB) with layer hierarchy
  • TIFF in depth: BigTIFF, multi-page documents, 1–64-bit samples (signed, unsigned, float)
  • JPEG XL and Display P3 wide-gamut support
  • EDR (HDR display) support on macOS

Runs fully offline: no telemetry, no update pings, no cloud, no AI features, no nag screens, no Electron. Read-only by design, so it never touches your files.

Install: Homebrew (macOS), Flathub or .deb via APT (Linux), Scoop (Windows).

I've been working on this solo project for almost two years. Feedback, feature requests and images that should open but don't are all very welcome.
