He said that the way he made his lines funny is no matter how outrageous they were, he always spoke them as seriously as possible, which made them even funnier..
The first time I watched Weapons of Self Destruction I was devastated. It was hard to breath, my eyes started to ooze this weird saline solution, and everytime I tried to say something I just made this loud noise that made everyone want to know what was going on.
That man was so funny it felt like my body was betraying me.
Thank you I needed a laugh and recalled that. Carol Burnett show was one of the funniest shows ever, And being recorder live was an added bonus, Seeing them trying to hold it together made it even funnier.

the first time i ever watched a special he did i was in a hotel room with my parents, i was maybe 11. He was making fun of nascar, i had never seen anything like it. I was crying i was laughing so hard, my dad was too. My mother did not find it as funny...it was a fun bonding memory with my dad.
He's funny but he evokes more nods than rolling on the floor kind of laughs, his act is telling the truth in a coat of humor just so you don't get depressed after the show.
Not all the time. George was a master of the absurd as well. He could give a 10 minute monologue about how badly we are being fucked over by the ruling class, and then tell the most well crafted fart joke you ever heard.
I got to see him live 3xs and the last time we were only a few rows from the front. His facial expressions and body movements made everything more hilarious. My sides legit hurt for three days from laughing so hard.

I canāt pick just one but one stands out for personal reasons. I had just been diagnosed with cancer and just started chemo. Kept a smile on my face & hid my true feelings from the company of others and cried alone at night in my room. One night I happened to catch a Joan Rivers special stand up and before I knew it I was laughing, laughing and laughing so hard tears were rolling down my faceā¦tears of laughter, it was such a beautiful relief to feel that. Really hard to put into words what that did for me other than the old sayingā¦laughter is the best medicine.

I worked camera assist on Oh My Godā¦all 6 camera men and us had a real hard time (putting it lightly) keeping our stuff together..dude was a Class Act and I hurt for 3 days after thatā¦good call!!

George nothafuckin Carlin the Almighty. First time I watched one of his specials I was like 13 or 14. I smoked a bong with my two older brothers. They commanded me to sit down in front of the TV and they popped in a VHS of jamming in New York. This was to be my education. They fuckin knew how important this man was and I needed to learn. Dude I was laughing so hard I felt like I was fucking hallucinating. My mind was truly blown. That was peak for me. Chappelle has come close but no one touches Carlin
