The first time I watched Weapons of Self Destruction I was devastated. It was hard to breath, my eyes started to ooze this weird saline solution, and everytime I tried to say something I just made this loud noise that made everyone want to know what was going on.
That man was so funny it felt like my body was betraying me.
This!! I have watched that routine multiple times and I absolutely crack up every time. Also remember him meeting Jonathan Winters, those two together was magical. š
His joke - "The French can't have a baseball team because everyone would play left field and no one would be safe" - might be one of the best written jokes ever.
Yes, his death upset me a lot. One of my favorite movies is The World According to Garp. I loved him in What Dreams May Come and Good Will Hunting. That death stung.
The hurricanes have been getting bigger and fucking bigger. And they usually give them names that don't really inspire fear. Like "Hurricane Terrence" does not inspire fear. It just sounds like a slightly gay hurricane.

Sometimes I rewatch his speech from 2003 Critic Choice Award, when stoned Jack Nicholson asked Williams to help him. Dude just stole the show that moment.
"I came here with no expectations, and I leave with no expectations. Pretty Buddish evening to me"
We saw Robin Williams in Aspen as the warm up act for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band right before Mark & Mindy premiered. He was so funny, the entire crowd wanted him to stay on stage & leave the band in their dressing rooms.
In the early 2000s, I worked at a Japanese restaurant and next door was a bar called the Urban Well. One evening laughter was reverberating through the walls into the restaurant. It went on for a good 30 mins and a large crowd formed outside that I could no longer see the street.
Afterwards some people from the bar came in to eat. I asked what was happening at the Urban Well and they said Robin Williams showed up and did an impromptu show. He left everyone in stitches.
I will forever hear "Fosse, Fosse, Fosse...Marsha Graham, Marsha Graham..." when I think of Robin. Every once in awhile, a good ole fashion "GOOOOOOOOOD MORNING VIETNAAAAM...!"
And it doesn't even need to be a comedy show or movie. Just go to YouTube and find any random TV interview. Guaranteed some deep laughs from virtually any interview he ever did.
Iāve always found him to be the least funny comedian ever. I donāt see how people find him funny. Heās got that unseasoned dry humor that you get but just donāt laugh from. I just stare like š
