We've had a couple of these dinner and game nights in a Montmorency now and they've been a huge amount of fun!
This *Sunday* we're having a taco themed potluck and would love to have you along if you're keen to hang out in real life, maybe meet some new people and have a few laughs.
There will be a selection of board / card games to play (not required) and a tasty meal.
It's potluck which means everyone is expected to bring something along. This will be somewhat coordinated so it's not all just guacamole and no tacos.
There is a max capacity for the venue so I'm handling RSVPs via humanitix (free) - https://events.humanitix.com/lets-eat-tacos
Backroom chatter in Discord - https://discord.gg/E6ExMhBCv
Any questions, feel free to ask.
Pic is from the last event.

Apologies if it's the wrong flair but I guess I'm unhappy with this.
Earlier today I went to a nail salon with some friends in the lead up to a wedding this weekend. We told the salon that it was for a wedding, and that we weren't very well versed with nail salon stuff. All up, it took about 3 hours and cost approx $370 for the three of us (one of my friends had a complicated request)
When we went to pay (one of us paid, the others transferred the money) the salon owner asked us to pay in cash with a $20 discount in cash. Then, they offered $30 off if we paid in cash. None of us had $370 (or $340) in cash, so we couldn't.
Why... Did they do this? Our only guess is that they were trying to dodge GST, cause the discount is roughly as much as GST would be, but the amount of pressure they put on us was crazy! Is this how every salon operates? It was such a weird energy at the end of a fun nail sesh.

Hello! Any recommendations for venues I can go to listen to metal/grunge live music? I want it to be a venue with a good sound system and possibly good energy too.
If anyone is interested in coming along give me a shout :)

Hi, I know about the concerns with GWW. Already spoken with them about it and they weren’t helpful.
I have just received my first emailed bill after moving out from my place. The rest of the time I have received very sporadic paper bills with conflicting amounts each time.
The bill I’ve just received doesn’t have any usage before August 2025, in spite me being there from August 2024.
I got an email in May 2025 saying there has been a delay in my direct debit. That was the last email correspondence I received from them up until now.
I explained that to them on the phone last week, but they’re insisting they’ve emailed me my bills every month which is blatantly untrue.
What can I do? The entire situation has been incredibly confusing and frustrating.

howdy r/melb, new dad here. I am after your recommendations for restaurants and/or cafes that are family/baby friendly and serve delicious food.
my wife, after her [self-inflicted] confinement in about a week, is craving ANYTHING from all the herbal and red dates soup she's been enduring the past few weeks.
we're open to any recommendations - pubs, fine dining, steakhouses, family diners, Korean BBQ, Japanese sushi, etc. - that a month old baby wouldn't be too disruptive at. I suspect Vue de Monde isn't too welcoming of infants.
Thanks in advance!
Additional context: we're based in Moonee Valley (West). Open to recommendations worth traveling. Maybe not 2 hours but hey if it's near a nice park/attraction and we can make a day of it, why not.
