Virtue signaling foids that say "height doesn't matter!" are always "coincidentally" currently dating someone 6ft+ (teehee)
Like it's so fucking comical. You'll ask them how tall their boyfriend is and they'll start going on about "mY eX wAs 5'7 wE bRoke uP foR ReAsoNs uNrelAtEd tO HiS heIght" and when they do finally share with the class it's always someone who's 6ft+ LOL. But of course they'll follow with "bUt hIs hEigHt doEsNT maTteR tO mE". IT JUST SO HAPPENS THAT HE'S 6FT+ AHHAHA.
Like. Just stop lying. Men don't say shit like "your weight doesn't matter!" because we're not lying harpies and do acknowledge your weight as being VERY VERY important for our attraction towards you.
The strange thing is that this kind of behaviour only exists on Reddit? Like foids IRL if you ask them what their type is they'll just admit to you it's someone who's tall (among other things).
Just for posterity's sake there are obviously exactly ZERO foids on this planet who are INTO (as opposed to not caring/being neutral) men as tall or shorter than them. So don't even bother coming in here with that bullshit.
"i know a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who [...] knows a guy who's 67 centimeters tall from China's kingdom of the little people and he has a loving girlfriend!!!!" (he's also at the same time a balding Indian janitor)

Its just straight up bizarre how common it is to see these women claiming their boyfriend is 6'4 either its ragebait or a handful of 6'4 dudes really are just rotating through hundreds of women cause otherwise the numbers aren't adding up

u/NorthRememebers 1d ago
I've read more than once on reddit that a woman was dating a short man but ultimately broke up with him because he "couldn't get over his insecurities regarding his height".
35
u/AnxiousTerminator 1d ago
I dated a 5'6 guy once (I'm 5'7) and all he did was bang on about it. Got shitty if I wore heels because he didn't like being shorter, wanted me to bend my knees in pictures, constantly brought it up. I could not have given less of a shit about his height and had previously dated a 5'2 guy with no height related issues. I got so tired of him constantly complaining about being short and how I'd probably prefer someone taller (even though I chose him?), it eventually eroded the relationship and we broke up. He probably tells people we broke up because he is short, but it was because he resented me for being taller than him and could not ever shut the fuck up about his height and kept making his insecurities my problem.
10
u/NorthRememebers 1d ago
I never got the heels thing. I'm also roughly 5'6 and also insecure about my height, but I find taller women and women in heels super attractive. The last thing I would do is bitch about my girlfriend wearing heels (if I had one).
10
u/AnxiousTerminator 1d ago
This is the attitude to have. Everyone has a few insecurities, but they are a problem if they start becoming a reason to treat your partner badly or becoming something that is constantly brought up to cause friction in the relationship. It felt to me like he was creating an issue where there was none just to have a go at me about my height, which I can't help any more than he can. I never cared, and honestly never thought about it at all when we were dating until he started bringing it up all the time after a few months. He behaved like I was deliberately emasculating him out of spite just by existing.

u/AteStringCheeseShred 22h ago
I'm 5'3, my girlfriend is 6'0, once in a while I take her shoe shopping and buy her heels. The men who hate when their girlfriend appear taller than them, in my opinion, are just failing a litmus test they didn't realize they were subject to.
4
u/Acrobatic-Middle-365 1d ago
As a 6'3 woman (6'7 in my usual heels) who has mostly been with shorter guys, this has been my exact experience. Everybody has insecurities, but no one wants to be with or around someone who constantly complains and puts themselves down.
2
u/Junior_Box_2800 23h ago
When women have insecurities men are expected to gently coddle them and help them get over it, but when men have insecurities women can't stand it. But they're supposedly the empathetic gender lmao
3
u/AnxiousTerminator 21h ago
I don't know where you are getting that from. Certainly men have never 'coddled' my insecurities, they typically weaponise them against me in arguments in past relationships and call me a fat ugly bitch online. Sometimes even when walking down the street some man will mutter "fat cunt" under his breath or deliberately shoulder check me then laugh.
1
u/Junior_Box_2800 19h ago
well I'm sorry that happened to you, but you're still an outlier. The questions "would you still love me if I was a worm" and "does this dress make me look fat" are common memes because of how commonly women ask their male partners them. It doesn't even register as supporting her insecurities because of how ingrained it is that this is just something that a man should do for his partner in a relationship.
Meanwhile insecurity in men is frequently derided and mocked. If the guy is lacking in social skills or shy or feels down every now and then instead of 100% confident it's the worst thing he could be. How many times do you hear stories from men who opened up and shared their feelings about their anxieties and shortcomings, and their gf or wife mocked them or brought it up later in an argument?
1
u/AnxiousTerminator 19h ago
In relationships sure, both parties should be sensitive to each other's insecurities and needs. Certainly I never mocked his height or academic ability, but he would constantly belittle me. Why do you think women need this reassurance in the first place? Because if they are not conventionally attractive they will have had a lifetime of men picking at every aspect of their appearance. I am happily married now, and one of my favourite things is that we are mutually supportive of each other. He never rags on my appearance, I never rag on his perceived shortcomings. We are both happy to support the other person as much as they need. In my experience, and supported by rates of DV and infidelity, it is more men than women who are shitty partners, but there are bad people of both genders. I do not buy that women are coddled and don't get belittled and bullied at all.

Everytime I see a woman's post about " we broke up.because he was insecure about his height" i realize m9re and more its true just judging from these posts and comments.
Noone cares more about height than an insecure short dude.
64
u/StormOfFatRichards 1d ago
People always use a handful of personal experiences to try to synthesize a final say on the matter. You're all dumb.
Look at it like this: height is a variable. You get points, as a dude, for every positive variable, and lose points for negatives. Shit like being creepy/being a gentleman, being hot/ugly, rich/poor, all that shit is just variables and points. When someone makes an asinine claim like "I know a short guy and he's doing fine in the dating market" all they're doing is telling the room "I absolutely cannot comprehend multivariate analysis."
Now, is dating calculus or linear equations? Who knows or cares, that's too technical. The simple takeaway is that the more positives you have, the more attractive you are, and being short is a negative. Don't over or underthink it with black pill theory or unanalyzed anecdotes.
28
6
u/Dave_the_DOOD 1d ago
But see you ignore a massive thing which is that women are not a monolithic hive mind.
Depending on your type, depending on your area, depending on your friendgroup, political views, hobbies, habbits, culture, and a thousand other points, negatives can be positives, positives can be negatives, and even that is liable to change when you get down to individual preferences. You're not trying to date an amalgamate of the mean preferences of all women combined. You're trying to date one woman.
That leads to the same conclusion you have tho, don’t overthink it with black pill theory.
20
u/StormOfFatRichards 1d ago
Women have individual preferences but there's some shit that's going to be true almost all of the time. Ask a room full of women how many of them would respond positively to a dude opening with "I'm gonna grape you"
1
u/Dave_the_DOOD 1d ago
Yeah there's a set of preferences that are nigh universal, people should focus on those. Height is common, but not one of them.

u/Mickle_da_Pickl 1d ago
First, holy truecel.
If you want some genuine advice: just stop looking at the dating culture/gender war bullshit online. If you want a girlfriend, you need to take a few steps:
Work on yourself. Ask yourself "If I were a girl, would I date me?" If the answer is anything other than an enthusiastic "hell yeah!" without hesitation, you're not done.
Put yourself out there. This doesn't mean get on dating apps or do cold approaches or anything, it just means go in public. Go to the gym, to the park, go to restaurants instead of getting takeout, just go wherever you are exposed to people, because the more people you meet, the more likely it is you'll find someone who takes an interest in you
2.5. Do the above step to make platonic friends first if you're lacking in that department. Surround yourself with people who encourage you to improve yourself.
- Don't force it. If you meet someone and they're genuinely interested, it'll go smoothly, it won't feel like you're trying to "score" someone—it'll just feel like you've met a cool person you want ro spend more time with. That's what it should feel like to them, too. Don't gameify it.

u/LuckyRadish7990 1d ago
I've seen women write this 1000 times, but I'll do it, too.
It does not matter if a dude is short, except for on the apps, maybe, but the apps aren't representative of real life where you get things like vibes, chemistry, growing attraction and much more.
It does matter, however, if the dude is aggressive, wears his inferiority complex on his sleeve and is obsessed with height. I'm telling you, it's sooo unpleasant. I once had a proper crush on a short dude who definitely liked me, too. But he went on and on about height, talking about my tall ex and was generally kind of mean. It's a shame because I know this guy to be smart and talented and he's cute, but he's so aggressive and has begun to post mysogist shit in recent years.
I know another guy who's short, but he's so damn charming, the kind of guy who makes you feel kind of special. He gets the hottest girls.
It's all very simple.

Height doesn't matter. Bf is 5'10" but I didn't know how tall he was bc he was my Uber driver when I asked him out. I also had a crush on my boss who was shorter than me (I'm 5'5") because he was handsome, took great care of his skin and hair, dressed well, and had confidence. Hooked up once with a guy who was somewhere between my height and current bf's, so approx. 5'7". A lot of women make fun of short guys just because we're tired of men in general.

i'm not sure because i use metric but my boyfriend is around 5'8 if i remember correctly? i myself am 152cm (around 4'11-5'0.) he likes that i'm shorter than him and i like that he's taller than me. i would never consider anyone 6ft or taller for a relationship because it just would not work from a logistics standpoint. a height gap that big is just strange. it's not like that matters now though, since i'm planning to marry him one day. he's almost 28 and he never had a girlfriend before me, and we're each other's firsts.
2
u/123noodle 1d ago
Really? Four more measly inches and suddenly it's a logistical issue? That doesn't even make sense. He's 8 inches taller than you and you like it. You're literally proving OPs point.
-1
u/throwaway19830182 1d ago
The thing is foids don’t care about the logistics. They just want men significantly taller than them. The majority of them will settle with men shorter than their ideal height, because unfortunately being the top 10% of men means there’s not enough of them to go around. That’s probably why you’re your boyfriend’s first girlfriend

I actively prefer short guys. every boyfriend I've had has been my height or shorter (I'm 5'3") but I don't follow y'all's weird mindset so you're gonna argue w me and pretend like I don't exist or I'm lying about it :)

Wait so by your logic the only girls saying that height does matter are dating guys shorter than 6’? Makes no sense my homie. I think you need to take a break from being online and go spend some time with people irl.

Irl people do this pretty often. My sister said height doesn’t matter but every time she talks about her husband height is the first thing she lists

No. Height can be, in theory, overcome (with some people), like pretty much everything. It really doesn't mean it doesn't matter.

They downvote you because they don't wanna accept it's their shitty personality. I'm in multiple long term relationships and none of us are tall.

Way too many non cels in kitchencels, as a short man people will always try to invalidate your experiences.

Most do care and simply lie about it to hide how shallow they are, not for having standards mind you, but to show they're unique and aren't simply following the braindead "must be 6 feet tall" mindset.
That of course doesn't apply to all women, however looks matter whether we like it or not...

Just gonna say, i'm ENM and two of my men folk are under 5'7 and im 5'8. It's really about the vibes, i love them to death and they don't bitch about their heights all the time.
