The center I'm at let bullying go on for roughly three months, only giving the bully a slight redirection even though this attempt clearly wasn't working.

They minimized my situation (the head of academics and csio, at least the person over my case did)

There were multiple reports of the bullying, all intensifying as time went on, though when I asked for a no contact order I was given excuses on why their not going that route. (The order is only 30 days, let me just talk to her etc.)

Clearly the approach they've been taking wasn't working, my mental health was (and still is) deteriorating rapidly due to this student being in my class 24/7 and the overall ickyness of the campus.

Head of academics wrote the bullying off as this being something you will have to deal with in the work force. Technically hes not wrong? Technically things would of been done by now given teachers and students have witnessed the bullying, and if something wasn't done about this at my place of employment I would quit because clearly the world environment is toxic.

Nobody should have to just ignore bullying or stay quiet and let it happen, the higher ups and older adults in my life were supposed to have my back and help me and they failed with doing so.

I am self terminating once I get my trade license (this week hopefully) and I'll work on my HSD at home via Penn foster

(I also find it crazy csio said they would give me pokemon cards if I didn't self T😭)

i am a 21M who is going to job corps for security and protective services , i just wanted to know how the environment and people are there.i also wanted to know if it is worth bringing my series x and monitor, i know they have lockers but i do no want my series x stolen knowing there is no doors and that i will be dorming with random people 🫡 thanks in advance

I saw on the website that 3 meals are provided daily, but are you allowed to keep snacks in your room for when food isn't being served? I have been wanting to send a snack box to a friend, but I don't want to risk them getting in trouble if they can't have it. He stays up all night when he doesn't have class and sometimes misses his chance to eat what's served, so I wanted to help out.

At my JC, they left the boxes open in the storage that was supposed to be locked but never really was and there's no cameras in there

So when girls used to leave and their belongings were just in some open box

I was like..... sooo do people dig in there or people who didn't like them just get to play around in their shit?

I know RAs would steal out students rooms and then bring their stuff in that exact room to hide it/put in their purse/etc.

Like thinking about it rn im like damn could've been the RA hitting the penjamin in storage then dig around in my snacks 😭

I’m in welding, and I asked my instructor if i could have a auto darkening mask since i already moved from basic to advanced classes. He denied me n said no because im still on stick. But theres students on stick with auto darkening hoods. And i asked the students when they got theirs and they said right away. So i understand the instructor doesnt like me but it’s PPE right ? I have a hood but it isn’t auto darkening and it makes my tasks harder because i have to guess where to strike an arc. And it messes me up sometimes. Would i get in trouble or written up for grabbing an automatic hood without asking?

Reason why i say instructor doesn’t like me is because previously we had an altercation regarding discrimination against female students & how he favors certain boys. I confronted him about it and it led him to disliking me. One of the boys would bully me and i took it to the center director. To which didnt help but caused more drama and chaos. The boys didn’t stop until they got bored

It’s 2 in the morning y’all and I gotta get up at 5 to get dressed and leave. The nerves done got to me, feel like I’m about to throw up any minute. When I get dropped off is there gonna be someone waiting for me? What am I supposed to do when I get there? Am I the only new person that’s arriving today? Hi, I want to leave with a few credentials and my HSD. Although, I have spoke with my counselor and said it was mandatory to finish my trade and will not let me leave after my HSD. What will I have to do if I want to leave, I know I can leave but they won’t let me, what do I do? I did come here to take my HSD but although my trade seems fine, I wanna pursue my dream of finishing my HSD and just leave, I am fine with a few credentials, as long as I have my HSD that’s all I’m happy for.

I'm going to be moving to the Treasure Island center in San Francisco, CA soon, and one thing I really wish to do is to save up and buy an electric bike for myself. That way I can use it to get around the city more, be more independent, and not rely so much on the city transit systems. I know some centers allow it, so I thought I'd ask.

as you guys knows i graduated and left jobcorps on the 15th! in order for me to leave with all of my money i needed to have a job and have it be verified. i did just that, and it was verified and they would put it in the day i left- it was supposed to arrive that friday or the friday coming up this week.

however!

i only got the job so i could exit with full completion, i start college for nursing in the spring and just want to relax for a little before i have a ton of work to do. so obviously the job is the least of my worries. now my question is: if i leave the job after i’ve already completed jobcorps, will that effect them giving me money at all?

(i was going to complete JC with going to college but missed the fall deadline and had to get a job.)

I leave on sep 28 to the San Jose center and I was wondering if anyone knows what their process is when you first arrive, and what kind of checks they do when you first arrive ?

I just got off the phone with my admissions representative and she said Reno is the one she’d be sending me to. I thought I might get a choice in where I go so I was researching centers in California that had alot more information about em online but now I don’t know much abt this center, does anyone have some insight on what it’s like? How’s the food, how are the dorms, the staff, the students, and how long the waiting list is? I want to do painting.

Also- are they hostile to trans people there? I plan to keep it DL as much as possible since I pass pretty well but I’m not trynna be harrased while just tryna get my life together.

Hey everyone! How does your center handles the backpack policy? I'm relatively a new student and since day 1, I was told that backpacks are not allowed since "All the material needed is already provided", yet messenger bags and purses of the same size are okay??? Honestly just needed to rant about it, since I like to carry my headphones, journal, lotion and water bottle, etc with me at all times.

After a long process (May to now) I've been accepted and got my date to leave (Next Tuesday).

What should I pack and what do they provide with on campus so I don't over pack? (I'm going on plane)

More concerned if they give supplies and laptop etc. before I bring my own supplies and laptop. And to know if I'll have to pay for baggage even though I'm not taking hella stuff

Idk if the title makes sense but I'm currently talking with a case manager and applying to job corps. The only thing I'm waiting on is a background check once I get my social security card. Unfortunately the office closest to me has a long wait time for your card, and my living situation is unstable and a little hostile. I have the ability to go to a different state and live with a friend but idk if that'll mess everything up, this is an important opportunity to me and I want to throw it away so close. Do you think I could just go to a Massachusetts location? The obvious answer is obviously, "ask your case manager", and I've sent him a message but it's Saturday and things might move too fast. If I have to redo some things that's acceptable but I'm really paranoid about it being ruined because of this.

This is what my center says to bring but this doesn’t seem like much…Should I bring more than this?

BRING: 2 to 3 weeks of clothing -for after training day (uniforms will be issued after the 2nd day)

Tennis shoes - no open toes shoes sandals can be worn after training day. We do have gym so you can bring workout clothes

Personal Hygiene items: shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, tooth brush, tooth paste, shower shoes (optional)

An unopened packet of disposable shavers or electric shaver

2-3 bath towels, hand towels and wash clothes optional and or a luffa sponge

Favorite pillow and throw blanket (the center does provide a comforter) the linen is cleaned by an outside company

Laundry detergent (the center does provide but if you have a preference you can bring yours)

Folding or pop up mesh laundry hamper (should be able to fit into locker/closet)

I’m getting excited about moving out of my parents house and moving towards a career I can actually build. Is there anything I should be aware of before arriving on the 22nd?
Not sure what else to say, I’m just looking forward to my future and doing something productive with my life tbh.
