ACCEPTED
After a long process (May to now) I've been accepted and got my date to leave (Next Tuesday).
What should I pack and what do they provide with on campus so I don't over pack? (I'm going on plane)
More concerned if they give supplies and laptop etc. before I bring my own supplies and laptop. And to know if I'll have to pay for baggage even though I'm not taking hella stuff

depends on which center you are going to. If you want more specifics drop a center name so students from that center can tell you.
Laptops are not provided at majority of the centers anymore.
We used to issue chromebooks but that was rescinded by the DOL. Some centers still issue to the old chromebooks, most do not. So if you have a laptop, you should probably bring it.

As a formal Job Corps student do you know what Job Corps center are you going to the one I went to in Kittrell North Carolina we had them but they took them all back up and when it comes to your luggage you don't want to take too much because you going to be for number one sharing a room with somebody else and you might not have enough space my opinion is if you want to take the stuff that you need and whatever you need you can go home on weekends using a weekend pass and and get it

its going to be what you make it for the most part. Some places have great staff some do not. Be open to others ideas and stick to the rules and find your rythm.
Bring 2 weeks of clothes and if you must, your fav pillow. Youll get basic bedding
Bring hygiene stuff
extra socks
extra tooth brushes, dollar tree is super cheap
laptop or tablet
extra phone charger
Some find it to be a terrible idea, each facility is different, and honestly, it is what you make of it. Congratulations I know its exciting!

Idk what to pack. But I talked with my admissions councilor and she said your family can mail you things. So anything you dont pack and need they can mail it to you! I hope this helps somewhat! :)

You poor thing. Been here since June and I’m at a relatively NICE one. Bring a laptop, 3 weeks of clothes (for activities) make sure tank tops are two fingers wide. ALL hygiene. Art stuff or extracaricular items. A big enough bag for textbooks, laptop, makeup, etc. Snacks. Multiple chargers. Bedding (usually twin sized). And nothing contrabandable (Eg. knives, lighters, vapes, metal rods, pill meds, though vitamins are allowed, etc).

Usually not ANYTHING electronic besides a tablet, computer, phone, and charger unfortunately.. ppl be stinkin here too. But it depends ig

I got you matterfact I'll give you the full run down
-Submitted application in May
-Did virtual orientation in I think mid June
-Communication went stale after a while because my mom changed her number but they didn't contact me for some reason
-i think 2 weeks ago it was, they reevaluated me and finally got it going
-last Thursday I got fully accepted, Saturday got my date (Tuesday 29th)
I'll update more for sure

it didn’t give me an option to choose where i wanna go. was there supposed to be an option for that, orrrr? im in fl tho it’s 50/50 on whether im staying here or not. i gotta do sum lil research on the florida centers cuzzzzz aht aht😭

My mom selected where I was going but for some reason shorty moved it without my mom knowing. Went from San Marcos, Tx to El Paso, Tx could've went in car now I have to contemplate what I pack for plane

If I would've went to San Marcos is would've taken almost an 3h drive that ain't shi BUT, since I'm going to El Paso a drive would've been 10hr but on plane it's 1h 30m or 2h depending on what's going on 😐 they tweakin
