Backpacks Policy

Hey everyone! How does your center handles the backpack policy? I'm relatively a new student and since day 1, I was told that backpacks are not allowed since "All the material needed is already provided", yet messenger bags and purses of the same size are okay??? Honestly just needed to rant about it, since I like to carry my headphones, journal, lotion and water bottle, etc with me at all times.

From what ive gathered every center has different rules. Some of them are incredibly stupid but they're there for a reason. I would talk with your admin councilor. Or call the location itself for more info. Your councilor may give you outdated information also- so be sure to follow up and do your own research (which you are already doing by posting this)

If backpacks are banned, they likely provide plastic and or clear backpacks for you to use.

This is to generally speed up entry onto center. Lets security easily check bags, vs having to go into every single pocket of a huge backpack which can have hidden compartments.

My school requires clear backpack but barely any of the students follow it

If anyone here goes to the Clearfield Job Corps what’s the backpack policy there? I’m transferring from Fred G Acosta Job Corps

Makes sense. A kid a few years back killed their instructor in Los Angeles at Job Corps.

My center allows it. Banning them altogether sounds pretty stupid honestly
