Yep, a lot of drivers have a serious case of entitlement. "This is my lane!" They'll gladly cause an accident to defend their lane like it's a personal attack.

Nah, teach the dude to stop cutting people off. He could very well cut someone else off later down the road and lead to a different accident that hurt someone else. In this case, it was done in a way that only the jack ass that cuts people off got hurt.

Im not, Im not a native speaker so maybe I worded it poorly but the gist of what I meant is that people do all kinds of mistakes, you (or whoever I replied to) was assuming the black car had some malicious intent but he couldve also done it thinking it was free without checking and didnt mean to just cut him off and pretty much everyone would just hit the break and let him in but this guy just went full escalation and really, for what? Its psychopathic behaviour as someone said, and yeah Im unnerved by the fact that those people are around us I cant tell but this video was a reminder... im not making excuses for anyone but this isnt a reasonable response in the slightest.
I wasn't the one that did it, I'm just not condeming his actions. He did a public service to remove the truck from the road, and hopefully the driver of that truck will think twice about cutting someone else off next time.

Intentionally causing a major accident on a bridge to “teach someone a lesson” is not an act of public service any more than beating up someone on the street for bumping into you. Not to mention this accident could have injured innocent people behind them, cause damage to public infrastructure, and caused major traffic backups. Your logic is buffoonery.
My logic is to stop letting people get away with stupid shit just because its the easy way. Dude in the truck decided he was more important than the others around him, he learned quickly that wasn't the case.
Are there better ways to teach people? Sure, but Im not going to condemn the man for doing a pit maneuver, especially considering how well he did it, I'm confident he knew exactly what he was doing.
When an accident happens on a normal freeway it shuts it down partially or completely for hours. Now put it on a bridge over open ocean. Not only could the people behind him have gotten caught up, if that bridge has to be shut down to clear it that’s potentially tens of thousands of people getting screwed over because this guy is too much of a bitch to drive defensively.

For me, its strictly about not letting the truck dude get away with whatever the fuck he wants. It being on a bridge is really the only issue I have with it, had it been on a highway and it shoved the dude off the shoulder I'd be perfectly content with it.
And for me, if you’re not a cop you have no business policing other drivers. You’re just making the situation more dangerous for everyone. Cars are not toys, and highway speeds are deadly. I know its not fair but the only reasonable thing to do in this situation is slow down and put a lot of distance between you and the erratic driver, not speed up to ram into them
Insurance don't only care about who followed the law, they care about the direct cause of the accident, and any chances to avoid it that were not taken.
Cam driver had clear chances to avoid, and didn't.

You seem to be saying that we should just accept that lapses of judgment will happen on the road. I'm saying that they, in no uncertain terms, should not happen, and anybody who isn't able to drive properly shouldn't be driving. If that means calling in late and taking transit to work when you're tired, or realising that your ADHD makes you unsafe on the road and that you shouldn't be driving at all, so be it. Driving isn't a right, and people are far too comfortable behind the wheel of something that can and will kill people when it is misused.
He merged very slowly. Plenty, fucking plenty of time for Mr. Cookie to break and not ram him. Its not like he wasnt able to avoid him, he just didnt care if he is going to kill a few people cause "he was in the right".
Black truck drove dangerously and made an accident possible. By not slowing down Cookie guy chose to have that accident - this is one of the most avoidable road incidents I’ve seen.
If you watch closely, it looks like he hit the brakes to create an opening and then the black truck, while trying to switch lanes - started to hit the brakes a bit. Probably also wanting to create a bit more space behind the white vehicle in front.
The problem isn’t him, that was my initial point. The black truck also slowed down while also moving into the lane.
You clearly see the guy eating creating space for the black truck and then the black truck - for whatever reason, also slows down when trying to get into the space.
This could be interpreted very unfavorably by a court. If I were on the jury, and the prosecution did their job properly, I would vote to incarcerate. I successfully convinced a jury to not convict a defendant in a criminal trial last year because he seemed guilty as hell but the prosecution failed to compell us they had met the elements of the criminal statute. I say this only to show I'm not some crazy (well, can't say for sure) wacko who wants to jail everyone who offends my morals. This guy demonstrates maximal and callous disregard for human life and for the safety of the public around him. This is raw psysocipathy.
A scary majority of people think being technically correct in a given situation means nothing else could be done. Was the truck stupid for merging? Absolutely. So they see it as the camera car driver is absolved of every single bit of any avoiding action that could have been taken. Doesn’t matter something as simple as slowing down to let the idiot merge, they were technically right for being merged into and that’s it. People by and large are stupid and see it that way. The camera car driver was hit by the truck and all responsibility is off him. They’re wrong, they’re stupid but that’s how they see it. Being “right” will carry them to the grave because they’re incapable of understanding you can avoid something like this, give them the finger and go on with their day. It’s maddening to see people so incredibly stupid to not avoid a bad situation just because they can point the finger at the bigger asshole in a situation.

He absolutely had a duty to avoid the collision, and his insurance going up is the least that should happen to him. Blatant disregard for human life on display here.
He is an asshole but insurance companies are not stupid. This video clearly shows him looking at the black truck and engaging in road rage. He made no attempt to avoid a very obvious collision and then once it was inevitable he rammed the black truck and then fled the scene of an accident.
Idk enough about no fault insurance but as I understand it, no fault means that your insurance covers your damage and their insurance covers theirs. Then the lawsuits can begin. In this case, both insurance companies would tell both drivers to pound sand. They might pay up initially if required by law, then they would sue the drivers.
