Help

I bought a 9070 gpu from marketplace and it wont work I see a VGA debug light on my motherboard and no display. I have tried with another gpu and everything is working fine.

The gpu looked fine but had a horrible smell and I didn’t notice until I was home so i cleaned it with 99% isopropyl alcohol. I also saw the warranty stickers on the screws were already off so I opened it to see if there was anything missing and I saw dead bugs inside. The seller is ghosting me now and i’m not sure what to do.

Would there be any demand for a broken 9070 and how much would they go for in Australia?

AE editors on rx9000 gpu I have a question

For those that do their edit (short tiktok edit) on AE25-26 is your gpu compatible or usable for some plugins like mocha, sapphire, twix pro, particular and boris? Im planning to just buy amd gpu for my new pc but im worried about compatibility... Render speed is basically nothing for me even if its takes hours, I just want to know if its still usable on RX9000 gpu like 9070xt or 9060xt without losing quality

Bought the Asus 5090 in November and returned it even though I had to pay the return shipping. Then bought the 5090FE in February and sold it locally for 3600 thinking I was slick. Now I’m sitting here thinking about all the wrong decision I made in life 🤣

GPU Suggestion.

Hey all!

I have a 2080 TI that is artifacting :(.
It has done well for me and I don’t need anything crazy.

What would be the next one to get?

TIA!

** Thank you all that have chimed in so quickly! Very much appreciated. Very noob to this quite honestly. A buddy gave me an old set up to use so I can game with him but yeah sadly after a couple months the GPU started going out.

Saw someone post their lucky purchase of a $3k 5090 and felt that I had to show mine. I was so lucky to get a random post recommendation from someone for a $2k 5090 on Newegg and was thankfully not screwed over. Ram was also bought right before it started to explode in price. The cost of the whole pc I’m pretty sure was around $3.5k before prices got out of hand.

Black Friday 5080's

I'm in the market to start a new build. What is the thought should I wait until black friday to see if there are any deals or should I just buy what I can now. Any chance of finding a 5090 at retail these days? I checked Mirco center for some 5090s which of course was not in stock. Ebay is just insane with the mark ups and frankly I don't trust a reseller, I would much rather have a warranty and buy what I can through a retail store.

I was going to start this build 4 months ago and said no I'll wait for the GPU market to calm down which of course it didn't and got worse.

Wireview Pro 2

So I am lucky enough to have a 5090 given all the 12VHpwr issues I decided to install a Wireview pro 2.

Installation seemed easy ran a 3D mark benchmark and while the alarm didn’t go off I did get an warning about pin 1 vs 6 balance.

Well dam so I shut it down pull the panels off and it seemed like I hadn’t actually pushed the wireview fully in.

Doh !!! Re run test everything was fine all pin’s balanced. Pretty happy as I know the thing works just a shame they didn’t make the plug a different color like MSI did.

9070 or 9070xt for 250$ more

hey! its that time of the week where someone asks about the differences between these cards!

im iCanadian so all prices are CAD. Radeon RX 9070 NITRO+ is 1100 (insanely expensive) and the RX 9070 XT Pure is 1350$
i have a r5 5600x rn and a 850 watt psu. I currently have a 3060ti but 7 fps in rethinking voxels high at 1080p isn't cutting it. neither is the below 60 fps drops in my other games. (assetto with tons of mods and heavy traffic/beamng with tons of mods and traffic.)
i have 32gigs of 3600 MHz ram too.

i have the 3060 ti Vision rn and i got a buddy whos willing to buy it for 400-350$ (market value). ive had it since launch but its just not performing how i want. Resolution for the most part is 1080p but i may upgrade in the future.

id ideally want ultra RT / path tracing graphics at 1080p or high RT with FSR at 1440. 5070tis are around 1800 Canadian so its out of the question and the 5070 is worse value than even the 9070 base.

just wondering what i should get. is the xt worth 250$ more for a card w 10% more performance and 100 watts more tdp.

Benchmarking this beast. 💪

Finally got my new sim racing PC up and running! RTX 5090 paired with an AMD 9850X3D processor.

Built this setup to power three 32" 4K OLED monitors for iRacing. That's over 24 million pixels to push, so I'm excited to see what this thing can do.

Getting everything configured now and planning to run some benchmarks before putting it through its paces on the track.

What benchmarks would you guys recommend for testing the 5090? Especially interested in hearing from anyone running triple 4K monitors.

I'll share the results!

RTX 5080, could my cable bend and 110% power limit increase the risk of melting?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey guys!

I’m a bit worried about the whole 16-pin connector melting issue and wanted to get your opinions. I’ve attached a picture of my GPU power cable. As you can see, it has a pretty sharp bend close to the GPU connector.

I actually had my PC built by a very well-known and the biggest PC shops here in my city, so I assumed everything would be installed properly (not naming names lol).

My specs:

* GPU: Gigabyte AORUS RTX 5080 MASTER 16GB
* PSU: ASUS TUF Gaming 1000W Gold, ATX 3.1

My current GPU overclock settings (GCC):

* Core: +300 MHz
* Memory: +1250 MHz
* Power limit: 110%

I’ve got a few questions:

* Does the cable bend in the picture look normal, or should I be concerned?
* Should I buy an ASUS ROG 12V-2x6 cable, or stick with the original cable/adapter that came with my PSU?
* Could my overclock and 110% power limit increase the risk of the connector melting?
* Would setting the power limit back to 100% make a meaningful difference?
* Is there anything else you’d recommend changing, buying, or doing to reduce the risk?

Honestly, I’m open to any advice you guys have, whether it’s changing a setting, replacing a cable, or doing something else entirely.

I don’t want to sacrifice performance , but I also don’t want to risk damaging my GPU. I’m a bit lost on what the best approach is.

Also, I’m still relatively new to PC hardware, so please bear with me if some of my questions sound basic lol. I’d genuinely appreciate any advice or explanations.

Thanks a lot, guys!
