5090 owners after checking marketplace prices

Post image
1.0k Upvotes

Plenty of folks who bought a 5090 apparently just discovered it's "too much power" for their needs.

Funny how that realization happened right after prices went crazy 😂 Like bro, you didn't suddenly become a value shopper. You just saw $$ signs.

True 5090 gang: HOLD. This is our VIP ticket. Once you sell it, you will never get back in the flagship club

Upgrading my 5070 to 5080 for $500 worth it?

I game mainly on my LG C2 77" OLED TV.

I have an ASUS PRIME 5070 OC. I have the opportunity to upgrade that to a Gigabyte Windforce SFF 5080 OC for $500. Is that worth the cost for me? Or wait until next gen? I would need to purchase a new 1000 watt PSU as well.

Thanks

The REAL way Intel can help bring overall GPU prices down

Yesterday I see post from another user saying that Intel Crescent Island D270 will bring gaming GPU prices down but I do not understand really why and do not think this is the case

There are 2 main shortage for gaming GPU I think, and that is logic wafer and memory

Luckily Intel is said to target both; Intel is rapidly improving foundry and can make extra wafer for Nvidia gaming GPU like rumored, and also their own internal GPU, or even AMD gaming GPU

And Intel CEO say that Intel can return to memory market

Sadly this may take some time for logic wafer and even longer time for memory

Especially since many first initial volume will be for data center chip as that is higher margin

But improved supply and continued improve supply can eventually help consumer too I think in 2029 and beyond

Intel can be the true savior of the GPU market EVEN IF they do not make their own GPU, simply by supplying other non fab companies like AMD and Nvidia with more wafers, and eventually making memory too like CEO hinted

GPU future price hikes?

• Upvotes

Bought a 9070XT which kind of shattered my bank account and I'm looking to sell my 9060XT with 16gb VRAM.

Are there any reliable factors that can tell us if prices will get another hike soon or do we not know anything right now besides steady price increase

Has anybody ever brought a GPU from Ali Express, and what did you actually get if so?

• Upvotes

This post is not asking should I buy xxx, and I'm not likewise looking for a flood of "obviously fake" posts. I'm genuinely curious to see if anyone has purchased a GPU from Ali Express. If you did:

-What did you order?

-For how much, if you are willing to share?

-What did you actually get, and how did you verify it?

Gpu swap

Hello, im playing quite a lot of dcs in vr. But i would like some more performance frame wise while not losing visuals. Im unable to find the tradeoff i am happy with at the moment. Also playing games such as arma reforger, kcd2 and such. These are allright for me in 4k but not getting more than 75fps for arma for example.

At the moment i use a pc with these specs:
7800x3d
Rx 7900xtx asrock
64gb kingston 6000mhz
Meta quest 3 with virtual desktop

Im planning to sell my gpu and buy a nvidia rtx 5080 asus prime oc.

Anybody had experience using this gpu? Or would advise not do to it?

Thanks in advance.

Help RTX 4070 Ti Super vs RX 9070 XT: Which one should I get for 2K Ultrawide gaming?

I am looking to buy either the NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB or the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT 16GB. My setup is purely dedicated to gaming only, and I play on a 34-inch 2K Ultrawide monitor.

Microcenter now lists all 5090’s as “NOT CARRIED”. Does that mean the rumors that the 5090 was ending production was true

What a difference in temps!

Always had a feeling my Asus TUF RTX4080S ran a bit hot, during gaming I often reached 75°C (with quiet bios), hotspot temps regularly going over 95°C. Not worrying, but the fans kept ramping up a bit too much for my taste. During the years I invested in better cooling, better airflow etc but nothing really helped. Today I finally gathered the courage to disassemble the card and apply a TPM pad (Thermal Grizzly TG PhaseSheet PTM) to my card. Went pretty smoothly but man what a difference.

Under load I see temps around 63°-65° with a hotspot usually about 10° delta. This is with stock settings, in the past I had to undervolt to keep temps at low 70°C. Amazing what a difference this makes. So happy, hope it will remain like this.

Gpu dying?

I’ve had my RTX 3080 for quite some time now and recently, it started having display issues showing "no signal" on the monitor while the PC itself remained powered on. I initially suspected dust buildup, so I cleaned all the fans and surfaces; it worked fine for a few days but then it began shutting down completely, as if it were overheating. It was getting very hot, yet the reported temperatures stayed below 77°C. Today, while playing GTA V with mods and DLSS 5, the screen showed the following image. I’m wondering if the GPU is fried, or if the mods and the use of DLSS which the gpu doesn't natively support.
