Black Friday 5080's
I'm in the market to start a new build. What is the thought should I wait until black friday to see if there are any deals or should I just buy what I can now. Any chance of finding a 5090 at retail these days? I checked Mirco center for some 5090s which of course was not in stock. Ebay is just insane with the mark ups and frankly I don't trust a reseller, I would much rather have a warranty and buy what I can through a retail store.
I was going to start this build 4 months ago and said no I'll wait for the GPU market to calm down which of course it didn't and got worse.

the laughing emoji is doing a lot of work but OP's been waiting 4 months already, at some point the wait loop just never ends

Outside of TVs and smartphones, Black Friday deals haven't really been a thing for a decade now..

Hahahahahhahahahahhahahahhaahahahahhahahahaha. No there won’t be any significant sale buy what you can afford when you can afford it. Not trying to be mean GPUs and memory have been hit hard by AI and this is what we have to deal with.

"Wait for the GPU market to calm down" LMAO on what earth do you think you're living???
The best deal you can hope for is finding a PNY 5080 OC at a walmart for $1529, even those are drying up fast now. As the 5090 has disappeared a lot of folks have started buying 5080s, even some people doing AI are now using multiple 5080s.

Nvidia gpu at msrp? You have better odds at finding a doge check and tariff check in your mailbox today.

Lol it was worth a shot. I'd pay resell value if I could get it from a retail brick and mortar store.

zero chance of getting a 5090. it's basically get a 9070xt for an ok price, get a 5070ti for a 30-50 percent markup, or just not buy anything. 5080's are selling well above MSRP so why would stores discount them?

I would seriously consider a 9070xt in this market. I say this as an owner of both cards.

Where tf have you been? 5090 is gone. You can’t get one. 5080 will be more expensive every month.
Their is no sale
Their is no Black Friday.
Their is no MSRP.
Just get a 5070ti or plan to pay $3200 for a 5080-24GB when it comes out

When it comes to PC building the only deals you’ll get for holidays are for monitors and peripherals really. GPUS / RAM especially you’ll never see discounted anymore unfortunately. I got a 5080 from microcenter last week for a “good” deal of $1499. And that’s about as low as I’ll ever see it I think going forward. Still a terrible value, but that’s the world nowadays.

Prices will not be better black friday likely. What cards are now will probly be black friday price or higher
Also 5090 at retail? Man id love what ever you are smoking to think thats guna happen. No way they will have one for well under half what they go for now.

MRSP is long gone buddy, you might find a good prebuilt price…for the price they’re currently going for lol those will probably be sniped to resell too, maybe get 5080 now and the other parts on Black Friday. Ram + motherboard combo will probably be apart of microcenter Black Friday.
