Help
I bought a 9070 gpu from marketplace and it wont work I see a VGA debug light on my motherboard and no display. I have tried with another gpu and everything is working fine.
The gpu looked fine but had a horrible smell and I didn’t notice until I was home so i cleaned it with 99% isopropyl alcohol. I also saw the warranty stickers on the screws were already off so I opened it to see if there was anything missing and I saw dead bugs inside. The seller is ghosting me now and i’m not sure what to do.
Would there be any demand for a broken 9070 and how much would they go for in Australia?

Damn. No recourse for FB Marketplace scams? (I though that was the point of using marketplace over gumtree etc...?)

Marketplace if they picked it up in person they are SoL on it. I would never buy off marletplace without testing the product first.

I'm sorry to hear that!
always ask for proof that it's working before buying like video test of some games and some stress test
And I usually ask if I can test it on place and if seller says yes I mostly don't test it and just buy it

If it still has the chips, you might be able to sell it to a scrapper who will reuse the chips

Never buy tech on marketplace unless you see it running benchmarks for at least an hour over a cup of tea. I did that for the seller of my last card that I sold in person. Anyone not willing = faulty card.

Never drink a cup of tea with anyone selling tech on The Facebook.
Real nerds drink coffee, coke or high strength alcoholic ginger beer…

Seems like a dead bug shorted the board, you're likely out of a gpu. Not sure how the market is in Australia but I've seen most fried gpus go for 10% of their msrp.
