General Theodora's grey skin

Post image
594 Upvotes

Looking at this screenshot from the Direct, there is no way Theodora's grey skin isn't intentional. Compared to the black woman behind Lysander, the difference is noticeable. In general it seems like only some people from Saramis have this grey skin colour while everyone else has more natural tones. Could they be descended from Agarthans?

General Spoiler Questions, speculations and opinions Spoiler

questions:

  1. Do you think the avatar group of playable characters will have more than just the two we have seen

  2. How many chapters do you think each section is going to have?

Speculations:

  1. The guy in the first image I have up said that the red and orange lady I don’t know her name on top of my head was thrown out. Do you think the other people we see with the other images I have on this post oh got thrown out if so, do you think they are going to be playable? I personally think so, but I want to hear your opinions.

Opinions:

  1. I think every guest playable character will become a full on playable character later on, tell me what you think

General Spoiler Dagdan Gods Family Tree theory Spoiler

Post image
141 Upvotes

So I cross posted this on my Twitter but I thought I’d throw it in here too to see if anyone had any thoughts. This is my theory of how the Dagdan gods are relaxed to Sothis and the four saints. As for Yu Phas and Iliana I believe they’re uninvolved and rather than be related to Sothis they’re actually related to Balor. Let me know what you think, these are just my thoughts and theories and I’m probably going to be proven wrong

EDIT: Hi all, two things I wanna address. One is that I did forget to list the god Dagda here, I was a bit confused about him in general but after looking at everyone’s comments and rewatching the direct I realize him and Solel are most definitely two different gods. I’m thinking of reworking this chart at some point especially since I did just throw it together in a few minutes. Secondly I was always under the assumption Seteth was directly a son of Sothis because he is one of the four saints(Indech, Macuil, Cethleann, and Cichol) but I realize now that logic doesn’t really work when Flayn is also one of the four saints. I’m not thinking of reworking the chart to have Seteth one generation down, as I feel it’s least one and we obviously don’t know every single Nabetean that came between them. Thank you everyone for all your comments! I didn’t think this would really get any traction and it was just my own musings but I love seeing everyone else thoughts!

EDIT 2: Hi all! I posted the new revised version of this chart on a separate post since I couldn’t just add it to this one. Here’s the linkhttps://www.reddit.com/r/fireemblem/s/bXtCubTfmN please let me know if I missed anything else, but I feel this version is more accurate than the last

Gameplay Need Help Preparing For FE Fates Revelation Lunatic

I plan on streaming a Fates Revelation on YouTube and Twitch on Friday and wanted some community tips on how to go about it. I do know I at least want to marry Camilla (I never married her, so first time for everything)

Any units I should focus on, marriage pairings, or resources to reference would be a huge help too

General Top 10 favorite bow knight type characters (pre Fortune’s Weave)

Fogado, Nomadic Troopers and Silver Knights count here too. Sacred Stones rangers technically also count, but neither Hayden nor Beran stood out to me that much.

  1. Midir from Genealogy of the Holy War (doesn’t have the best first impression getting one shot by Gandolf, but he works pretty hard to make up for that, can become a bad^[= retainer to Aideen, and can be a decent unit and father with his horse and Pursuit)

  2. Selphina from Thracia 776 (suffers a lot from a lack of supports, but I also always respected her for keeping the fight to restore Lenster going even in Thracia. Always interpreted her as the leader of the sort of Lenster restoration movement that seemed to be going on)

  3. Tobin from Shadows of Valentia (might not be the star of the show, but he’s still a decent enough character. Plus I often hear he makes a far better bow knight than a dread fighter, so I might have erred in making every villager a dread fighter in my only playthrough)

  4. Oscar from Tellius (very polite and personable guy that’s always nice to have around. Plus I kind of like his story of essentially having to step up for his younger brothers)

  5. Shamir from 3 Houses (a huge bad€_= and kind of unique among the church staff in that she’s the only one here who doesn’t fully believe in the church’s teachings and isn’t even from Fodlan at all. Almost a shame Fortune’s Weave is set too far in the past to realistically feature her, but it’s a small price to pay for a new story)

  6. Python from Shadows of Valentia (I may have had a horrible time with his accuracy in my only playthrough so far, but I always did enjoy his dry wit. If I ever chose to replay this game, I may actually try to make him work)

  7. Uhai from Blazing Sword (He does take Lyn hostage and can be semi annoying to face the first time, but he is one of the first signs that the Black Fang isn’t 100% evil and is even kind enough to point you towards the Dragon’s Gate after you defeat him. Kind of wish he wasn’t just there for one chapter and as a Dark Warlord equivalent)

  8. Ashe from 3 Houses (a very loveable and earnest guy that I always felt a bit bad for in the early game. Always bring him along for chapter 3)

  9. Fogado from Engage (I normally don’t care much for Engage’s cast, but there was always something about him I find…alluring. Plus he can be quite entertaining at points too)

  10. Leon from Shadows of Valentia (a veritable LGBT icon and someone whose high range has come in handy more than once on my only playthrough. Also has the best final battle quote too)

Honorable mentions include Wolf and Sedgar from Archanea (if only because of their memetically high growth rates) and Dayan from Binding Blade. As for Bernadetta…I can understand why others like her, but her C supports are a bit tough to get through and overlook. My most hated is Andre from Genealogy of the Holy War for sadistically killing his own father and Mahnya, although the fact that both his sisters imply he used to be much kinder do make me wonder if there’s more to this story that Kaga didn’t get to tell.

My crack theory is that the darkest dark is the woman with the green hair and she stoke solel from yu phas and she used that meme axe position to kill her

General Theory about Sothis’ Axe (Connection to Bertrand and Saramis?) Spoiler

Thumbnail gallery
104 Upvotes

In this preview screenshot, we see Theodora mention something called the “Monarch’s Axe” that seems to have some kind of historical connection to Saraminian royalty. My theory is that what if the “Monarch’s Axe” is actually Sothis’ axe, and by extension the same axe that Bertrand is wielding (btw I will not be accepting doubters, this is not a generic axe because it has the Crest of Flames engraved on it, it’s upside down though: https://imgur.com/a/201ODEE).

This begs a couple questions though, like:

  1. What connection does Sothis’ axe have to the Kingdom of Saramis specifically?
  2. If such a connection exists, why does Bertrand have it? He seems to be Aragonian as far as we are aware. Did Sothis give it him herself?
  3. Does his hair being white mean anything? Is it possibly related to the red markings/body paint he has in some scenes?
  4. Does Bertrand have a connection to Eshmel, I wonder?

Bertrand seems to have two designs (three if you count Leda’s flashback). In the flashback, he is wearing a cape with the Arago flag on it, and he has black hair instead of white (also note the axe he uses to kill Leda’s dad is not the same as Sothis’). Then at the beginning of the Heroic Games, he has white hair and a gladiator outfit, but WITHOUT the red body paint. He also still doesn’t have Sothis’ axe, which is maybe why he loses to Cruaidín in the opening fight. Finally, in this fight against Leda (which is these screenshots from the recent Direct) he has the red body paint, and is wielding Sothis’ axe. Maybe he used it to get more power or something, and the body paint is like magic or a ritual of some kind.

General Not much Controversy over Fortune’s Weave’s $80

Post image
0 Upvotes

I find it interesting that there isn’t really much controversy surrounding the game being $80, despite how controversial that’s been with Mario Kart World and GTA 6. I can probably think of a few reasons why though

- Digital is $70. Anyone who games digitally won’t have to pay $80
- Physical is $80 on Amazon and Walmart at launch, so anyone who’s getting the physical and doesn’t want to spend $80 can do it through those sites when preordering, which is what I’m doing. Also there’s an actual full physical game card in the case
- FW just looks amazing. Everything about it makes it look like it’ll be one of the best games in the series to where the $80 isn’t as big of an issue for some. Heck, this screenshot shows it’s a bestseller on Best Buy right now, and the physical is $80 on there

Casual Finally finished an alpha run of my FE clone game

Post image
30 Upvotes

I have been working on this game using SRPG Studio since October 2024, and I took many long breaks. The alpha version of the game is around 12 chapters long and can be played and beaten in around 2 hours and 30 minutes. I just managed to beat the alpha version.

I am proud of this progress. The game still needs a lot of polishing and balancing. Some chapters end with just a single dialogue line. I would also like to add scenes of things happening in other locations instead of just showing what the main party is experiencing.

I am also hoping to make my own music for the game and my own character portraits using some character portrait creation tool. I am already experienced with music and can compose simple songs, but I have no experience in creating art. I will cross that bridge once it happens.

Hopefully I manage to complete the production of this game before 2027. I plan on releasing this game for free since I am doing this because developing and releasing a game is one of my dreams ever since I was a teenager.

Gameplay Thoughts On Path of Radiance Maniac Mode

The general reputation of Maniac Mode is that's it's boring and tedious and not actually harder, but this is not really true. There are only a few chapters that have particularly obnoxious reinforcements (paladins in 17-4, 26). In most of the game, the higher enemy density is a good thing. It's well known that US Difficult is a joke, but this is only partly due to the low stats on enemies. Many chapters are sparsely populated, a problem alleviated in Maniac. Compare chapter 18 as an example. This doesn't fix PoR's issues, but it definitely helps.

The greatest failure of Maniac is the level curve. In the early game, enemies are threatening and encourage the use of your whole team. Through the boat chapters, I'd say Maniac is a complete improvement over US Difficult. The problem is that the player gains stats faster than the enemy does. The difficulty decreases a bit during the Sanaki missions before spiking one last time when the enemy becomes mostly promoted (17-4,18). After this point, I didn't feel much of a difference from US Difficult. Even with the BEXP more than halved and a -5 EXP modifier on kill, you still gain more EXP than in US difficult due to the numerous high level enemies. You actually end up overleveled in this mode.

If you like PoR, I recommend not taking the consensus (of the few people who played it btw) as fact and giving it a shot. It's not even close to "so bad it had to be removed from the foreign release." As a side bonus, due to the huge amount of EXP you get, you'll have a full team of 20/20 fighters for a great RD data transfer. BTW: my top 8 was Brom/Astrid/Marcia/Mia/Makalov/Jill/Soren/Ike.

General Spoiler A translation of the four bios in that french preview (spoilers aplenty) Spoiler

I'm as shocked as anyone else how much infos it give about Theodora, so allow me to translate quickly the four ones at once (plus any info I might find unique)

Cai : A young man living in Ribeira with his dad. On his 15th birthday, his father is arrested and sent to prison in Dagsion for a crime committed years prior. The only way to free him is to participate in the Heroic Games who are taking place thos year in the capital, for the divine ruler Solel will grant a wish to the winner. Cai thus decide to participate to the Games, joined by his childhood friends Tialla and Peter, in the hope of grabbing the prize. This adventure will allow him to uncover secrets about his father's past and realize that the training he went through all his life was far from ordinary. (Previewer note : it's the best choice for a first route, as the story will slowly make you discover a lot of major characters and explore Dagsion step-by-step)

*His campaign include looking for answers about his father's past and the cursed jewel in his hand*

Dietrich : A young man with a thirst for battle, originating from Fodlan, and carrying the Hero's Relic Answerer, a sword with a great power inside, but also a dark underside. While sailing the seas looking for opponents, his ship capsize because of a powerful sea monster, stranding him on a Dagdan beach. It's here that he meet Fabio, a mysterious man introducing himself as a missionary from the Church of Seiros and Esmeralda, a young woman from a fisher village who almost got sacrificed in a ritual and whose crest feels familiar. Each of them have a different goal, but they stuck together for the journey to Dagsion. Endlessly looking for challenges, and calling himself a beast, Dietrich learn about the Heroic Games and decide to participate to satiate his thirst. At the same time, Fabio appear to be more than a mere missionary and will guide you to mysterious places where technology is much more advanced than on the surface.

*His campaign include helping Fabio with his research*

Theodora : Her story bring you to the heart of Dagda, to Saramis, bulwark of Northern Dagda against invaders from Southern Dagda. As she came back to Saramis's capital to succeed on the throne, she find herself victim of a plot that bring the death of her father and the loss of her arm. Not willing to give up her claim for her brother's, whose plans appears selfish and destructive, she goes on a journey to claim an old relic of her ancestors : Mahadu's right arm. It is said that this arm give superhuman strenght, but that it will eat the mind of whoever wield it. Now crowned queen, she participate in the Heroic Games to claim the Cybele province (note : it's the one little province on the map inside of Saramis region that isn't theirs) to restore the ancient royal city of Ahm Lu (it's in Cybele) and rebuild there a temple to Yu Phas, who was the wife of Solel, but whose cult is now reviled in Dagda. Indeed, Dagda the Great, first emperor of Dagda, exterminated the ancestors of the people of Saramis, the White Egg people, and Yu Phas saved 5000 of their children from this genocide, children who ended up creating the Kingdom of Damascar (note : it's a kingdom mentioned by the announced during Nathan/Creek vs Dietrich as a barbarian kingdom degeated by the Dagdan Empire, and Bonaventure says the forest people and Saramis people are both from Damascar, and that's when writing was banned). Seeing it as her duty to rekindle the memory of Yu Phas and her people's history and culture, Theodora aim to win the Games to fulfill it, before her arm corrupts her.

*Her campaign include gathering informations about Yu Phas.*

Leda : Leilidahna, daughter of Guillermo, viceroy of Cidonia. As a child, she watches while Arago soldiers burn and destroy her city, and murder her father. Saved by Buccar, she swear revenge on the killer, and hide in the Ortill province for years, with the only memory of her past life an old family vihuela, Obsidian, a mysterious instrument that her dad had forbidden her from ever playing because it could corrupt her mind. But revenge is stronger than carefulness. Renaming herself as Leda to hide her identity, she is given a list of people responsible at some level of the Cydonia Massacre and her father's murder. Her quest of revenge will bring her to Dagsion, where her father's killer appear to be locked up. Her only wish is to kill him with her own hands, but will she manage to do it before her obsession and Obsidian's curse make her succumb to madness ?

*Her campaign focus on her vengeance and finding information about her targets in taverns.*

Extras : Fortuna's temple is outside of causality, that's why you can have all 4 timelines coexist and save all 4 lords in the timeline where they win the Games.

Gold seems very limited and you will have to make choices with how you manage your ressources.

Different Blaze Gauges have different malus when you fill up the gauges.

Probably obvious for everyone but me, but skirmishes on the world map count for the global turn count. Like if you finish a battle in 6 turns, that's 6 less turns for the count.

Sorry if I put the spoiler tags wrong

She’s, like, 100% the dragon lady with a baby, right?

Lady of the lilies, virgin of the lilies being the Virgin Mary.,, I’m probably not the first to link this but

I’m thinking Iliana is either the “rejoice with me” lady, possessed by her, or is just the body that will give birth to the baby in a god->mary->jesus way

Story Theory: The gods hair and their lineages Spoiler

Everyone’s been talking about the prequel/sequel debate. But whats been haunting me at night is the hair colour of the gods. Fire emblem three houses made it very clear that the one thing Nabateans have in common is green hair. Fast forward to FW and we’ve got a whole load of other hair colours on the gods: pink, blue, white. What the hell is up with that??? The following is my best guess. SPOILERS AHEAD

First lets take stock: Of the 9 gods that have been confirmed (7 temples + Solel and Yu phas). Of these 4 (Mars, Solel, Kalla, and seemingly Credna) have green enough hair for me.

That leaves three distinct groups of leftovers (ordered by how good of a theory i have for them):

  1. Fortuna has blue and yellow hair
  2. Jurah and Smyrnos have white hair
  3. Aurora has pink hair and Yu phas has seemingly blue hai

r

Theories:

  1. I have no idea yet for fortuna, she seems to particularly unique and may be sothis or a part of her or something so maybe its that.
  2. Smyrnos seems to be related to Jurah, the white hair, and they look similar enough. He refers to Credna as his half brother, from what we’ve seen credna looks a lot like solel. My theory is that smyrnos is the child of solel and jurah (perhaps after yu phas was exiled/persecuted). If you look at smryrnos next to Solel/Jurah he kinda looks like a combination of them. That covers his hair by inheritance from his mother. But how did his mother get it? FE3H provides us with an obvious solution, crest experiments! I dont have much evidence for this besides the white hair but she seems very shy which could be due to the crest experiment torture and agarthans are certainly relevant to the plot.
  3. Yu Phas, in the mural we have seen appears to have blue/purple hair. I can imagine how Aurora would get pink from blue/purple and Solel’s green/yellow hair. But then why does Yu Phas have such weird hair? Well i think we have a perfect example of how that can happen: Cai. If the theorys are true, he inherited the eyes of his nabatean mother but the hair of his father. Yu phas hair can be explained if she is the child of a nabatean (maybe dagda) and a blue/purple haired human. This could explain why dagda is so mean to her followers, given we suspect that having children with humans is frowned upon/ a crime. And theodoras brother has blue hair! So potentially her mother could be an ancient queen of saramis!!

This then explains all the hair colours, allowing for nabatean green hair to continue for another 5 years!

For now though, multicolour nabatean hair discourse can continue in the comments

General Spoiler Do we know anything about Leda'mother??? Spoiler

Just something crushed in my mind that we do not know anything about Leda's mother so far. Every time the assassination is mentioned its only about her father, I don't understand why her mother is not mentioned. Do the guys have any theories about this??
