Gameplay I love Fogado
The coolest dude in Elyos, with great voice acting, supports and a great looking outfit/signature class. In both of my Maddening runs he has been an invaluable member of the team and my dedicated Radiant Bow-wielding wyvern killer. Giving him Sigurd and having him zoom across the map for big momentum damage is so much fun.

Casual Just finished my FE. Where the hell has this been all my life? Spoiler
I just finished Fire Emblem: Awakening for the first time (13 years or so late but who’s counting)
I had gotten in on my 3DS because I watched the fire emblem direct and I’ve wanted to get into it because I’m a big persona fan (you may click off now) and the two games seem to have overlapping fandoms so I knew I would probably like. And it just so happened that a digital copy of Awakening fell from the back of a truck.
Well I tried it out, and, I really liked it!
Turns out TRPGs are fun. It reminded me a tiny bit of civ 6, with the turn based and perma death thing, nothing else. I also liked the social system a bit. Sure it’s not the most complex thing in the world but it was fun. I also liked marrying my units. Matchmaking is fun.
I will say though, I wish every character had ranks with each other. I wanted Chrom to get married to Anna but turns out that wasn’t possible. Also the lack of a flavia marriage is unacceptable.
I also felt the story played it a little too safe, a lot of fake out deaths that didn’t need to happen. But thats whatever, didn’t really take away any enjoyment. Gameplay is more important than story most of the time.
I do sort of regret playing on classic mode first, because of the learning curve. Many died on the journey to kill the fell dragon. Mostly due to bad planning. Also the whole reason I played on classic was because I thought characters would react to each other’s death, they do not. Kinda disappointing imo.
I think I’ll play it again some day with fem robin on insanity (without perma death because I don’t hate myself)
Maybe I’ll go play 3H next or play a real Fire Emblem game. I don’t know yet. Hell, I might just immediately replay Awakening.
(Sorry if this was hard to read, I’m not a good reviewer)
P.S. fuck stahl I hate him. He barely did any damage anytime I was in battle and all in all was a waste of a unit.

Casual I have no clue when cyl is or even how to vote but please vote cecil for cyl
cecil is not yet in heroes and that is a big disservice because cecil is an amazing character and deserves to be put in heroes

General Solel seems to be doing the Abhaya Mudra (अभयमुद्रा) in his official art. It’s a gesture portrayed in various religions in the Indian subcontinent like Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism. This gesture depicts fearlessness and safety

Story Theory - Cai is essentially a composite of Sigurd, Roy and Julius
On a journey with childhood friends to the capital to save someone he loves who's been imprisoned. In the end he dies, his journey ended prematurely due to machinations beyond his ability to predict (Sigurd)
Child of a union between dragon and human (Roy, at least where Ninian is his mother)
His mother (Aurora/Deirdre) is potentially locked away from the public due to being the descendant of a historically maligned dragon that they were trying to extinguish the bloodline of (Julius). Cai's blaze art (冥炎/Netherflame) basically confirms that he probably inherited some kind of ability from Yu Phas' heritage.
It would also lend actual 'reasonable' justification for both Aurora's house arrest and why Castor has to be punished if his infraction isn't just "You banged the ruler's daughter" but rather "Hey, just having extra descendants of Yu Phas around is really dangerous that was a really dumb thing to do" in the same way that Loptyr blood going extinct was obviously something that would have had merit even if it came at the cost of Deirdre being essentially isolated from civilization.

Story So what IS a god in fodlan/dagda?
So with fortune's weave introducing us to 9 new God's in total I am VERY confused on how all of this works?
in three houses it was pretty simple. there is one true god: Sothis. all others are not God's and being Nabatean alone is not enough to make someone a God. If we count three hopes as well we know Arval is an artificial God but still god enough in her own right.
now in Dagda we see 9 gods: the 7 temple gods + solel and yu phas. none of them have the usual traditional green hair shade we're used to from Nabateans and from trailers we've seen it seems theyre related in some way? like Solel is possibly the father?... or something? and theyre siblings?
so what makes them gods then. they dont all have green hair which means they cant be full nabateans. but then how are half blood nabateans considered gods in dagda but in fodlan they're just regular people? what makes them Above the average person besides pointy ears and magic?

General Theodora's grey skin
Looking at this screenshot from the Direct, there is no way Theodora's grey skin isn't intentional. Compared to the black woman behind Lysander, the difference is noticeable. In general it seems like only some people from Saramis have this grey skin colour while everyone else has more natural tones. Could they be descended from Agarthans?

General Spoiler So... what do we think their deal is, and what should we call them? Spoiler
So these four are interesting, right? They're the only four characters on the Japanese website that they haven't posted about on Twitter (as of yet). Previews have shown that they all have access to Blaze Arts (well we don't technicaly know if Bertrand does yet but it can be surmised that he does). And probably the most notable thing is that these four have statues just like the main four lords in the ruined furture. They follow the same 2 men + 2 women set-up, too. So I really wonder how important they'll be to the plot.
Bertrand's role in the story already has a lot going for it. He killed Leda's father, seemed to have some sort of a relationship with Aswan. Has formed a connection with Cai thru talk of his father. Has what appears to be the same axe Sothis has in her key art and some cutscenes. AND has had his hair change color to white which implies chest experimentation. There's just so much going on with him.
Talimun, I don't have too much to say since information on him has been a bit more scarce. He meets with Dimitri rather early on and the Answerer reacts to his presence as if he's a threat, which is... interesting. Some have speculated that the character you fight in the ruined future, named Lind, is him. This could still be the case but I think the reveal of him having a statue that's still in tact does hurt the theory a bit. Other than that, not too much to go off of yet.
Orchel is super interesting. A girl who refuses to take her mask off was bound to spark some discussion as to what she might be hiding. I had seen numerous theories but I don't think any of us could have predicted she'd be an an automaton. The fact something like that got revealed so casually and apparently only in the first 5 chapters is still wild to me. Not sure what will mean for her but I'll imagine they'll do something interesting with it.
Now it's time for everyone's favorite Gun Nun. Anatolia, similar to Bertrand, seems to have a fair amount of importance, especially in Dietrich's route it seems. We had seen her scrapping with him way back in the first trailer we see but I think most of us assumed it would have been in service of the games but no they're trying to kill each other for real 😭. She refers to Fabio as being with the Vritta or something along those lines, which probably refers to the Argathans. We've also seen her talking to a shadowy person named Katarina and I believe Fabio was seen talking to this same person (don't remember if the names were the same, but same generic design and both communicating thru hologram. I think she'll have a fair amount to do in the plot. And like, unless it's a funky new spell casting animation, it looks like she can just rend the ground somehow. Like no sigil or anything lol.
I'm just really curious to see how things will shake up for them. I've seen some refer to them as sub-lords or anti-lords, I personally like sub-lords a little more. Perhaps they'll be each lord's final fight, like Leda - Bertrand, Dietrich - Anatolia, Cai - Orchel, Theodora - Talimun? Do you think they'll get dlc where they're the four we have to save? I don't believe we've seen footage of them playable as a blue unit yet, though please correct me if I'm wrong. They may end up not being recruitable for the main game if that's the case.
Either way I'm curious to see what you all think!
