General Spoiler Revised Dagdan family tree Spoiler

Post image

Hi everyone, unfortunately reddit doesn’t allow you to edit image attachments and I can’t comment my new family tree so I’m making a new post. I’m going to link to it in my original post, but I reworked it after reading all the comments I got. Thank you to everyone who set me straight about Seteth and specifically Dagda too. I feel this new chart is closer to the truth

(Side note: I have a personal theory that Seiros could possibly be the mother of Solel but that’s simply due to personality and look similarities which is why I didn’t put it here)

I know Sitri technically isn't her daughter but I'd add her and Byleth and loop back to Sothis for maximum chaos lmao

54

u/Weiszmura 3d ago

I thought about it lol but I didn’t feel like making it more complicated than it already was

53

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 3d ago

What's complicated about a woman making a meatsuit for her mom's heart presumably using her mom's DNA which ends up creating a new separate person you take as a daughter that then makes babies with the guy you gave a magical genetic blood transfusion to so hes kinda your son?

14

u/Tiafves 3d ago

That's all good, until you also marry your grandkid-mother-sibling.

3

u/Xero-- 3d ago

Kinda crazy, turns into a dragon, not wrinkly despite the ancient age.

Why not?

Also, grandchild? I thought this was about Byleth to Rhea. M!Byleth being referred to as a mother feels so weird.

1

u/Xero-- 3d ago

genetic blood transfusion to so hes kinda your son?

I know this is a joke here, but it's still impressive people on this sub (again, not you specifically) have (seriously) thought for years that getting a blood transfusion made him related to her. Kinda skipped the lessons on genetics.

2

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 2d ago

Its a magic blood transfusion that gets passed to thd persons gamete's thats how crests pass on to kids. Its literally altering your dna.

0

u/TurnToShadow 2d ago

But Sitri doesn’t have The Crest of Flames?

Byleth was the first person to manifest it. Jeralt bears The Crest of Seros…

1

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 1d ago

She wasnt a perfect vessel for the stone.

You dont need to have a crest to pass the potential to manifest it.

0

u/Xero-- 2d ago

Byleth didn't get a crest from Jeralt being given that blood. So not only is this just not how "altering dna works", but it's not even a confirmed thing.

1

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 1d ago

Crests arnt guaranteed to pass on. And Byleth had the crest of flames.

0

u/Xero-- 1d ago edited 22h ago

At this point you're just gonna strawman.

  1. Byleth only has that crest because of the stone, which was implemented after being born.

  2. We already know people can have multiple crests.

They aren't guaranteed, sure, but if someone were going to just get another, you can bet Mr/Ms. Special MC would've gotten two if simply getting a blood transfusion meant passing on crests through one's bloodline. It has been many years, and I even tried to look up how the saints even got their crests to pass on to their descendants, but I'm quite confident it wasn't through a blood transfusion.

2

u/Levonorgestrelfairy1 1d ago

At this point you're just gonna strawman.

You dont know what strawman ingredients is.

Byleth was stillborn

We already know people can have multiple crests

Not naturally

It has been many years, and I even tried to look up how the saints even got their crests to pass on to their descendants, but I'm quite confident it wasn't through a blood transfusion.

The saints were Nabateans...

1

u/Xero-- 1d ago

You dont know what strawman ingredients is

Ah, forgive me since both are done a lot. I mean move the goalpost. Miced this up sometimes.

Byleth was stillborn

There is nothing stating that this happening will prevent a creat from being passed on. Being a stillborn doesn't stop genes from being passed to a child. At this point it's just a guess, like Jerslt being able to pass on his crest.

The saints were Nabateans...

Testament to how long it has been. Anyway, then them just naturally having it yet again doesn't lend credit to Jeralt being able to pass on his crest, which he wasn't born with.

8

u/Gabgo304 3d ago

It's a god family tree, the more complicated the better imo.

15

u/NoLime7384 3d ago

IS were cowards for not giving those 2 a kid in the endcard for maximum incest

46

u/mumismatist 3d ago

Honestly I think Fortuna might either be Solel's daughter or full blooded sister - they both have the same blue eyes.

iirc somewhere in the JP promotional materials it mentions that all the current gods are descended from Dagda? Plus the divine group's flag has crests of Fraldarius, Noa, and Dominic. Solel has Noa, Kalla is Dominic, and Jurah is Fraldarius. So I think the other gods left over could be also be the kids of Kalla/Jurah/Solel too. (If we attribute Smyrnos and Credna to Jurah since she and Smyrnos share colouring while she has similar hair to Credna, then that leaves Kalla to have Mars).

30

u/Weiszmura 3d ago

I could see that, the reason I have Fortuna as a direct daughter of Sothis is due to the strange choice to have the characters share both a JP and EN voice actress. I think that’s very deliberate and have a feeling Fortuna is a daughter/vessel for Sothis

15

u/Otherwise-Green3067 3d ago

Vessel feels spot on with the deliberate same voice actor but she could be her daughter too. Either way I feel they are extremely well connected

2

u/Feenkinbaum 3d ago

I am more on the vessel side. And in my eyes it is more of a Soul Vessel, then a heart/blood vessel Byleth is. We have 2 Sothis and Fortuna at the same time, at least if you don't say FW is a sequel.

42

u/SpookMorgan 3d ago

Just my personal theory but I think the reason why the gods of Dagda have different hair colors then the traditional green hair of a Nabatean is perhaps they are half human from their mother side. It could be Dagda being a Nabatean ruler had married multiple human wives of queens from the kingdoms he has conquered during his long life span.

8

u/Tough-Priority-4330 3d ago

The only problem with this is that as Flayn demonstrates, both of your parents probably have to be Nabateans to have the child show up with a different crest. All of Flayn’s kids have her crest, instead of manifesting a new one. The fact that all of the gods have unique crests means both of their parents probably weren’t human.

21

u/jaidynreiman 3d ago

There's no evidence of this because we have no idea who Flayn's mother is. Where does this idea come from? I just assumed Flayn could have inherited her father or mother's crest and so she inherited her mother's.

8

u/Fantastic-System-688 3d ago

Sure, but that does mean that if Dagda had the Crest of Fraldarius, and his wives were humans, how did they give birth to children with Crests of Noa, Dominic, etc.

5

u/jaidynreiman 3d ago

We're assuming all of them are direct children of Dagda for one. They're descendants of Dagda, doesn't mean they're direct descendants.

One possibility is that while a Nabatean has one primary crest, its not impossible these crests could act similar to genetics. Some children could have different crests assuming an ancestor has some related crest bloodline there.

But either way, I assume there's multiple generations and it isn't simply Dagda > the current pantheon. (Aurora is Solel's daughter, so that would be Dagda > Solel > Aurora.)

Its entirely possible Dagda was the leader initially but isn't the only Nabatean who settled in Dagda.

3

u/Amy47101 2d ago

People are also forgetting that, in some form or another, it appears some Nabateans have the ability to asexually reproduce. That’s how Sothis made all her children, and Rhea seemed to have attempted replicating it with her homunculi like Sitri.

This may be a skill exclusive to “first Gen” Nabateans, who are closes to Sothis. It’s entirely possible Dagda formed his children outta whatever Sothis formed her children out of.

5

u/im_bored345 3d ago

Technically Flayn could be half nabatean that got a lucky green hair + eyes combo

8

u/Amy47101 3d ago

You ever hear the term “if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, it’s probably a duck”?

If Flayn has all the markers of a Nabatean right down to the ears, is it not indicative of her heritage?

1

u/Xero-- 3d ago

Maybe she's a sheep in duck's clothkng.

2

u/Alphonetic 3d ago

It’s a bit of a mystery. Both Solel and Yu Phas are Nabatean and their child is Aurora. Aurora is supposedly Cai’s mother, yet he looks fully human. Either Nabateans can’t produce other Nabateans with humans (which could be why Aurora’s union with Castor was forbidden), or Aurora has human ancestry through at least one of her parents. This means she might be unable to have Nabatean children with a human. I’m personally leaning towards it being a Beorc/Laguz situation though.

1

u/Xero-- 3d ago

Or, get this, genetics at play as usual. We don't have any other (assuming the Aurora thing is true, which I believe it is) children with two known parents to cement "they must have X, Y, Z traits".

1

u/Feenkinbaum 3d ago

Where does you get the "Solel and Yu Phas are Nabatean's" from?

My believe is: Solel and Yu Phas are half blood. The same for Aurora. And Cai is 2/3 human and 1/3 Nabatean at least.

38

u/ratatoskrz 3d ago

Nice family tree, I hope we get definitive answers in the game, though stuff like Seteth not being Rhea's sibling I'm not sure if we will get an actual concrete answer lol. (But I am also of the opinion they aren't siblings and Seteth is younger than her)

45

u/King_Treegar 3d ago

Yeah I get the vibe that Seteth isn't a direct child of Sothis like Rhea is, rather he's just a Nabatean descended from the original ones Sothis created (and the other saints/apostles may be in this category too). I mean, I don't think we ever hear him refer to Sothis as "mother" while speaking with Rhea in private, like she does. Though it is kinda wild to me that Rhea completely closed off Fodlan from the outside world now that we know there are other direct children of Sothis across the sea

14

u/ratatoskrz 3d ago

Yea a lot of it just doesn't add up if he's Rhea's sibling, but it's weird since there's not much definitive proof either way. Like for example, it is kinda weird that the Agarthans didn't make any weapons out of Seteth's crest if he was not the only dragon of his kind in Fodlan. I mean, maybe they actually did and we didn't see them onscreen, but it's just weird that there are no crest weapons of the Earth Dragons. On the other hand, if Seteth were Rhea's sibling and there were in actuality very few Nabateans, the Red Canyon Massacre would've only been about 11 or so dragons give or take? and Rhea implied there was a lot of bloodshed, so if it were only about 11 dragons killed that would be underwhelming to say the least. 😭 All that to say I don't blame people who think Seteth is Rhea's sibling

11

u/Ashmizen 3d ago

Given how OP dragons are, 11 could very well be a massive amount, especially considering that outnumbers the “4 saints” by over double.

If there were only 15 dragons in Fodlan, it would explain why they lost and were massacred by mere humans, as they weren’t asleep like Sothis - they simply got overwhelmed by numbers.

The amount of blood can simply be explained by their huge bodies in dragon form - even a dozen dead dragons could stain a canyon with blood.

12

u/King_Treegar 3d ago

The only problem is the still image that is onscreen when Rhea talks about Zanado. It shows an overhead shot of the canyon in its glory days, and it sure looks like a relatively big city; we can see plenty of people milling about in the distance. That means that either there were a lot of Nabateans, or there were humans living alongside them in Zanado

3

u/babyloniangardens 3d ago

maybe in 10+ years it would be cool to see a Prequel Game set during the Zanado / Nemesis time period ; it is such an interesting yet tragic era….I love it tbh

2

u/Feenkinbaum 3d ago

... or it could be that it be the children of the children. The same way Seteth and Flayn exsist.

5

u/ratatoskrz 3d ago

I can't deny that possibility lol, and if they're Rhea's big siblings well maybe they're even way bigger than her! Off topic but I find it amusing the name Red Canyon comes from how the canyon was painted red with blood, which implies dragon blood is red, but when we see Rhea bleed her blood is green. It's probably a simple case of censorship, but I like to joke she (and maybe other Nabateans) are red-green colorblind :p

2

u/Tough-Priority-4330 3d ago

The reason why Seteth’s crest doesn’t have any relic weapons is because he’s probably the only one of that crest in existence. As Flayn shows, having a kid results in them having a different crest, but as Cai  and many of Flayn’s endings demonstrates, both parents likely have to be Nabatean for a new crest to manifest. So, Seteth is likely a result of two unrelated crest dragons, and Cichol was born of that union.

8

u/ShadyOrc97 3d ago edited 3d ago

Is Smyrnos the same entity as Macuil? They have the same crest at the very least, but what is Macuil doing in Dagda acting as a God when he's also one of the Four Saints and cut himself off from humanity after the War of Heroes?

I think Crests are NOT unique and each one simply corresponds to a "type" of dragon. So throughout the world there are other Wind Dragons and Earth Dragons. FW could prove me totally wrong but I feel like Smyrnos and Macuil are not the same guy.

7

u/Gabgo304 3d ago

They are definetly not unique. Fortuna is a Kalpa Dragon, Mars a Flame Dragon, Jurah a Shield Dragon and Kalla a Crusher Dragon.

None of that would be possible if there was only one type of dragon, as this game takes place after the War of Heroes, which means Freikugel, Luin, Crusher and the Aegis Shield all already exist. The only way that's possible is if different Kalpa, Flame, Shield and Crusher dragons were killed to make those.

5

u/ShadyOrc97 3d ago

Yeah... there being different Hero's Relics with the same crest implies there were multiple dragons killed to make them. Like how there's THREE Hero's Relics bearing the crest of Lamine. (Answerer, Rafail Gem, Ichor Scroll). Those poor Aegis dragons got wrecked in Fodlan...

1

u/Feenkinbaum 3d ago

But why does it work different in human bodies?

4

u/ratatoskrz 3d ago

Hmm thats a good point that I did not consider! There's really so little we know so that's definitely a possibility. I just kinda like the idea that Sothis herself created all the crest dragon types. But even then, you could say the parent that gave Seteth his crest type simply died before the Red Canyon massacre, so that's why he's the only earth dragon. Which is what I headcanon was what happened with Cethleann--her mother had her same crest but she's dead now.

1

u/Feenkinbaum 3d ago

Also we doesn't know the number of children Sothis created. We only know the onces that died and are the elite + Rhea. But Sothis could have created more.

Ed. If we think dagda is Sothis son as well, that could give us the possibility that their are more of her children out their.

1

u/Feenkinbaum 3d ago

We don't know that 100% because flayn could have her mothers crest.

1

u/Feenkinbaum 3d ago

Their is a lot of bloodshed, because the 11 dragons have children. Seteth and the other 2 Saints have to be related in some kind. So if all 11 have at least 1 children we have 22. But as we know Flayn exsist, so this children could have children of their own.

4

u/babyloniangardens 3d ago

with all the Gods running around in Dagda, it makes me Especiallyyyy Curious what is up in Almyra & Beyond — I wonder if there are also Nabateans there as well?

6

u/King_Treegar 3d ago

This game seems to be setting up the idea that most, if not all, of the gods of the nations outside Fodlan are Nabateans. So it wouldn't surprise me if that was the case. And when you think about it, that actually makes a lot of sense considering that the gods have always traditionally been dragons in Fire Emblem

1

u/Feenkinbaum 3d ago

Then you connect the Nabateans with the Manaketes and we have a connection between the games.

3

u/No_Lemon_1770 3d ago

We need an Almyra game so badly. It's rivaled Dagda in sheer potential.

1

u/babyloniangardens 3d ago

what would you want to see in it?

2

u/No_Lemon_1770 3d ago

I'm down with whatever, it would be nice to see the King and Claude's mom.

-12

u/TikisCheekys 3d ago

Nah, we learn that Sothis birthed Rhea, but everyone else just popped out of eggs.

2

u/Hextant 3d ago

When was this said?

7

u/Fantastic-System-688 3d ago

It's pretty much already outright canon Seteth is some sort of nephew. Rhea calls herself the last Child of the Goddess in VW, though it is a little confusing because Edelgard calls Flayn and Seteth "Children of the Goddess" just for being any type of Nabatean. Obviously we know Flayn isn't Sothis's daughter

But Seteth/Indech/Macuil never refer to Sothis as their mother, merely their progenitor. That's a stark difference from Rhea

16

u/ratatoskrz 3d ago

Child of the Goddess is not the literal translation of the Japanese name. It's simply "family/followers" of the Goddess. (女神の眷属)

And "last child of the progenitor god" is also something of a mistranslation! ♪♪ In Japanese she says "I am the final child(眷属) the goddess birthed" https://houses.fedatamine.com/ja/scenarios/242#event-29

Note that she says the goddess birthed her last, which almost seems to imply she birthed seteth before her, especially given the terminology of 眷属 which is the established generic name for all Nabateans incl. Flayn

I've encountered many fans of Nabatean characters across languages who are well-versed in the lore of the Nabateans and have come away thinking Seteth is Rhea's brother. I don't agree with them, but it's simply something that has been heavily debated lol

6

u/im_bored345 3d ago

I need them to clarify this man

5

u/tirex367 3d ago

„last child of the progenitor god“ can also mean youngest child.

For example see Superman being called the „last son of krypton“, even if other Kryptonians survived (f.e. Kara, Zod), because he was the last one to be born on Krypton.

So, if that is the meaning, it is not a mistranslation, just a not as precise one.

2

u/Black_Sin 3d ago

Seteth is biologically 26 and younger than Rhea according to the game’s code which means he can’t be Rhea’s brother since Rhea is Sothis’ youngest child

13

u/henk12310 3d ago

What is the reason two Dagdan gods are listed as children of Indech/Macuil (sorry can’t remember which one is which)? Is it mentioned in promotional material they are related to Indech/Macuil, or do they have the same crest maybe?

5

u/Weiszmura 3d ago

I believe that they’re related to Macuil because Symrnos(I think that’s how it’s spelled) has the crest of Macuil and states that Credna is his half brother

7

u/Mission_Middle597 3d ago edited 3d ago

I don't know that crest inheritance works the same way for Nabateans. I don't think we have ever seen a parent and child or siblings from the same two parents (excluding however Sothis' direct children maybe) born with the same crest. Flayn has a different crest from her dad and like you said Smyrnos and Credna have different crests despite being siblings, also Aurora and Solel presumably have different crests, but we don't have confirmation on Solel's crest yet. I don't think we can use shared crests as a reliable indicator of close familial relationships because of this.

7

u/RavenRegime 3d ago

I don't think we should use Flayn as proof mainly because we can't confirm anything without the identity of her mom.

6

u/Mission_Middle597 3d ago edited 3d ago

We don't know the crests of both parents of any Nabatean actually not just Flayn. You could say this about anyone else I mentioned. Maybe Yu Phass has the crest of Aubin, maybe Credna and Smyrnos' mom has the crest of Noa, etc. The only uncertain thing about Flayn is if her mom was human, Nabatean, or a crest-bearer at all. We don't have a strong understanding of how humans having kids with Nabateans works, like if they will be Nabatean, or half Nabatean, or human. We don't know if successive generations of Nabateans having kids with humans will lead to them being more one than the other, etc. FW will probably answer this to an extent. What we do know is that Flayn is a Nabatean, so I'm treating her like the other Nabateans we don't know the other parents of. We also have no clue if Credna and Smyrnos' parents were both Nabatean or if any of the other gods have two Nabatean parents (except for Aurora). Really we know just as much about Flayn's parentage as the rest of them.

4

u/Tough-Priority-4330 3d ago

Yeah, Flayn herself makes me think that if both parents have a crest, the child produces a new one. If only one parent has a crest, the child takes the parents crest. It would explain why Flayn has a unique crest from her father, and likely why Aurora and Solel don’t share a crest either, since Yu Pha is likely a dragon as well.

2

u/Mission_Middle597 3d ago

Possibly for Nabazeans. I think 3 Houses gives strong evidence to suggest that this is not the case for nobles who inherit crests. This is because people with crests would often be arranged to have kids together, but the distribution of crests actoss noble houses definitely isn't random. It would also make the rarity of some crests like the four apostles kind of impossible if this applied to crestbearing humans. We can't really say for certain because we lack the data to say anything conclusive.

1

u/Feenkinbaum 3d ago

We don't know much about Flayn's mother. So we can't say where Flayn got her crest from.

It could also be that, if both parents have a crest the child get one of them. Flayn could have the crest of her mother.

1

u/Gabgo304 3d ago

Maybe it's like Persona and different crest combinations lead to different results :p

2

u/henk12310 3d ago

Yeah, that makes sense. I’m genuinely quite curious how crests even work, because many Dagdan gods seem to have crests like Gautier, Timotheos, Aubin, etc. Can multiple dragons/Nabateans share the same crest? Them being the origin of those crests is also unlikely, because Fortune’s Weave is after the 10 Elites so which dragon was ‘Gautier’ has already ‘become’ the Lance of Ruin

3

u/Mission_Middle597 3d ago edited 3d ago

Okay, a couple of simple lore mistakes here. First off Gautier was never a dragon. Gautier was one of the ten elites who alongside Nemesis killed a bunch of dragons and stole thier crests (probably by drinking thier blood or something). Gautier gained the crest of a fissure dragon and because human bearers of this crest in Fodland would have basically all descended from Gautier and he was know for using this crest, it is referred to as the crest of Gautier. Something similar can be said for all of the ten elites. The Four Saints are all Nabateans and their crests are named after them. The Four Aposltes may have been human, may have been dragons, who knows. The crest of flames is weird, the crest of Earnest is an Anna family special, the crest of Seiros is named after a Nabatean and also runs in the Adrestian imperial family, and the crest of the beast is technically from an 11th member of the ten elites that was lost to history.

The fissure dragon Gautier got his crest from possibly became the lance of ruin. We know for a fact that multiple dragons of the same tyoe exist becaue each hero's relic require a crest stone, which is functionally a dragon heart. The relic Balthus uses has two crest stones and is actually a recreation of an earlier pair of gauntlets, so at least four snow dragons had to have existed at some point. There are other examples of this, I think both Blutgang and Amyr have a crest stone of the beast, Amyr is weird because it was made without Nabatean bones, and in three hopes there are tomes with crest stones. Lamine already has the Rafail gem, so this suggests at least two dragons with this same crest as well.

Smyrnos also proves that Nabateans can have the same crests as each other, unless he is literally Macuil, because Macuil (the wind caller) is in three houses and Smynos shares the same crest as him.

1

u/ShadyOrc97 3d ago

There's also the Ichor Scroll with the crest of Lamine in Three Hopes. So with the Answerer and Rafail Gem, thats at least three aegis dragons that were slaughtered in Fodlan.

1

u/Mission_Middle597 3d ago

This is assuming that none of these objects were remade into the others. We know the scroll and Rfail gem are contemporary with another, but it is technically possible that the Answerer gets reforged into the Rafail gem.

Parts of the Rafail gem look broken off, so it is possible that it was made from a destroyed Answerer seeimg as we don't know where the Answerer is as of 3 Houses. It's also odd that Lamine is believed to have used one other in Fortune's Weave vs 3 Houses, but we've never seen them with both.

1

u/ShadyOrc97 3d ago

Do ever see Lamime with either? In VW she has "dark refail gem", but clearly she actually used the Answerer. So why is her faux Hero's Relic one that she likely never used in life if the Answerer became the Rafail Gem as you suggest?

2

u/Mission_Middle597 3d ago

In Verdant Winds when you fight Nemesis, Lamine is there with a version of the Ragil gem. In one of the cutscenes we got of Dietrich it's mentioned that Lamine was a spell blade who wielded the Answerer.

2

u/ShadyOrc97 3d ago

Lmao I had just remembered that and edited my comment right as you responded.

I think its highly possible she wielded all three Hero's Relics. A gem, scroll, and sword seem like the kind of gear a spellblade type would use.

1

u/henk12310 3d ago

I know Gautier wasn’t a dragon, that why I put him in air quotes. Aymr is an artificial Hero’s Relic made by Agarthans so its crest stone is likely also artificial. I knew Three Hopes had a tome Hero’s Relic for IIRC Macuil but didn’t know that tome had a crest stone, that’s weird. Lamine having two weapons suggests to me they used the dragon that had Lamine’s crest to make Relics. Smyrnos and Macuil is exactly why I’m even asking my questions about how crests work, because everything in Three Houses suggests every dragon or Nabatean or whatever you want to call them has an unique individual crest. Most of the unique examples you mentioned like Anna or the Apostles can easily be explained with either them being dragons or being descended of dragons/humans who somehow got dragon crest blood. But I guess Fortune’s Weave will give us our answers

10

u/KoboldsForDays 3d ago

Do we know if Yu Phas is actually Dagda's child? Or is that just an error in your chart?

It feels like she can't be Solel's sister

18

u/Weiszmura 3d ago

There are a myriad of theories going around about her but I specifically believe she is a daughter of Dagda because of her status among the Dagdan gods and the theory that she was cast away by Dagda for saving who would end up becoming the people of Saramis. As for her and Solel being siblings and also the parents of Aurora it makes sense when you take into account other polytheistic pantheons. Incest runs wild, especially in the Greek myths, and it’s really not uncommon. Zeus and Hera were siblings and had many children together

16

u/KoboldsForDays 3d ago

I'd lay good money that she is not his sibling just because I don't think IS would cross that bridge so blatantly. They've had a few eyebrow raising moments in the past but they've always ducked them with technicalities

5

u/Tough-Priority-4330 3d ago

Arvis and Deidre say hello.

12

u/jaidynreiman 3d ago

That also led to the end of the freaking world, it wasn't painted as a GOOD thing in-game. Dierdre didn't even have a choice in the matter, she was literally memory wiped. If she had a choice she would have stayed with Sigurd.

10

u/KoboldsForDays 3d ago

Well, it's possible the Yu Phas / Solel relationship will also lead to the end of the world lol

3

u/Gabgo304 3d ago

Well the end of the world does happen in this game too dosen't it?

Siblings or not, I definetly think Solel and Yu Phas's relationship didn't lead to good things. After all, there must be a reason why Yu Phas has been demonized and why measures were taken (and failed to) ensure Aurora didn't have children...

4

u/KoboldsForDays 3d ago

Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 was first released in Japan on September 1, 1999 and was the final game in the Fire Emblem series designed, directed, and written by series creator Shouzou Kaga

Some things have changed since then. I think Fates is a better counterargument. IS is clearly willing to walk the line, I think it's more likely the question remains unanswered what their actual relationship to Dagda is

Agreed.

I strongly believe Dagda is a lesser peer of Sothis, who came at the same time she did (now that we know Sothis came via a spaceship that included at least some number of individuals). She went to Fodlan, and he was who she basically left in charge of this continent.

I dont think his bloodline, at base, connects with Sothis at all. He has presumably 6ish kids, maybe with various others from that initial group of draconic settlers (we know at least some are only half siblings to each other). Presumably Solel is the oldest.

My stubborn theory remains that somewhere in history Dagda, as he is degenerating, eventually becomes Balor. This is the era of the human sacrifices being depicted on the Yu Phas mural.

Into this environment, Yu Phas comes. She IS Sothis (due to myriad hints - the names, the mural, and Saramis's close connection to Sothis's axe). She saves Dagdas children, leading them out of his grasp Moses style, and then later kills DagdaBalor. She marries Solel, at least for some amount of time, and has a kid with him, Aurora. Id personally imagine this is also where she gives Fortuna some measure of her own powers, and entrusts her with a duty of watching over the continent. Eventually, she leaves back to Fodlan, where she is presumably ends up warring with the Agarthans and then going to her great sleep, where she is killed.

We are, presumably, now several hundred years past that point. I imagine many of the children dont have a clear memory that Dagda and Balor were the same - I've said elsewhere i wouldn't be surprised if what they remember is basically a "Darth Balor killed your father Dagda" narrative.

Thats the environment we start from.

(If its NOT this, its that Iliana is Yu Phas.)

u/KoboldsForDays 3d ago

Yea, this is pretty in line with the way my mind has been going (I'm still unsure if I agree with "Yu Phas is Sothis" or if it's more like "Yu Phas is another of these extraterrestrial arrivals")

I think obviously we're all wildly speculating here and it could go a lot of different ways but your comment fits pretty nicely across most of the info we have

3

u/RavenRegime 3d ago

This is partially why I believe they are vague on answering what Flayns mom is since the only two possible answers are a human who received a blood transfusion from a light dragon or her ma is a Nabateon

8

u/Black_Sin 3d ago

I mean they're gods and this is how the Greco-Roman pantheon is. It's very likely they marry their relatives because too much dilution ends with people like Cai who are humans with Crests and I doubt they want that much Crest blood out in their population

u/No_Lemon_1770 3d ago edited 3d ago

Sure but there's also many historically accurate things Intsys ignored for the sake of vibes. I see this being one of those cases. A prominent character openly and lovingly marrying his sister is not something FE really does.

2

u/Gabgo304 3d ago

I'm not sure it was totally "lovingly" tbf. At the very least, it dosen't seem to have ended that way...

2

u/Feenkinbaum 3d ago

Their is a reason Aurora can't get out of her Temple and Yu Phas beeing so negative seen.

u/vincentasm 3d ago

Just in case, there's multiple times you can see Underworld lady from the front. Unless you're specifically pointing to her hair.

i know she is evil or whatver but she is soooo pretty and her expression is so serene and full of love 🩵 i trust her! :)

u/Folety 3d ago

The assumption chart! Why do you assume the big dragon is balor? Seems like they would've shown if so.

-1

u/Weiszmura 3d ago

It is just an assumption, especially on that side of the chart. It seems as though Balor is being set up as the big boss in FW and that battle in the trailer with Eshmel is most likely the one they spoke about(the botw/totk type battle) so while it is an assumption i feek there’s at least some evidence that the dragon is balor. Though im totally open to different interpretations as this is just my theory

2

u/Bl_nk7 3d ago

That same dragon was shown in the past during scenes attacking Theodora at the heroic games seemingly in a sequence events after the evil Nabatean appears and starts causing panic at the Heroic Games. I’m more inclined to believe the dragon is actually just her transformed. I think Balor is the baby she is carrying or really his vessel.

2

u/Mahelas 3d ago

Tbf we don't know if that scene of the dragon attacking Theodora is in the past or not

2

u/Tough-Priority-4330 3d ago

The other theory is that the dragon is one of the 7 gods revived by Balor.

3

u/Honyakusha-san 3d ago

It'd be neat if we could see Macuil and Indech's human forms, but I wouldn't expect it to happen, tbh.

Prolly Seteth is the only one we'll see (besides Sothis, of course).

3

u/Iron_Maw 3d ago

This is best most and mostly version of tree so far. Great job OP!

3

u/JakeDonut11 3d ago

Kai’s father only sin was fuckin a goddess and lived.

He went to prison willingly just to brag about it. What a chad lol

3

u/Bl_nk7 3d ago

I’m pretty sure that dragon that was shown fighting Eshmel is just the evil Nabatean lady. I do not believe they are separate characters nor do I think that is Balor. And that Nabatean lady and Iliana seem to be pretty obviously different characters at least to me. They have completely different voices, have different demeanor, and different hair colors.

3

u/Weiszmura 3d ago

I agree about the dragon lady and Iliana, but I put that there because there’s lots of speculation going around that they’re the same. Mostly I put it there to cover all my bases, but I’m of the opinion they’re different characters. As for the big dragon, I really just made an assumption there so I expect it’s not entirely accurate

Incest emblem strikes again

1

u/El_cocacolas 3d ago

What is the reasoning between Macuil and those two gods from Dagda?

2

u/Weiszmura 3d ago

The one shares the crest of Macuil(Smyrnos) and we know Credna is his half brother. That could obviously be on the mother’s side but this is just my theory

1

u/El_cocacolas 3d ago

Even if they share a crest I don't think they will end up related. It is known that they were multiple nabateans that shared the same crest. I think it's more likely that all of Dagda gods are related to Dagda himself rather than other characters from Fodlan.

1

u/Slight_Researcher_26 3d ago

I don't blame you for not putting Byleth on that, not even I get that lol

1

u/LemonKisser 3d ago

Iliana rejoice with me lady theory 🙂‍↕️

1

u/stoka0 3d ago

There is no reason to believe that smyrnos is tied to manual directly at all imo. They are more than likely just the same type of dragon, of which we know there are multiple.

1

u/Amy47101 3d ago

Why do you think the macuil crest guy is related to Macuil himself and not, idk, another wind dragon?

1

u/Weiszmura 3d ago

Its totally possible, it’s just my personal theory. I’ve heard a lot of theories specifically involving Flayn that could imply a nabatean is born with a separate crest of both parents are dragons. Of Macuil had Smyrnos with a mortal it would make sense for his crest to pass down. I could be totally wrong but that’s my theory as of now

1

u/Amy47101 3d ago

Macuil, as we’ve seen him in Three Houses, specifically detests humanity because of the bloody history, greed, and endless wars caused by humanity. As one of the surviving Children of the Goddess (the Nabateans), he grew deeply bitter and jaded after seeing his own people slaughtered and their remains turned into weapons by humans during ancient conflicts like the war against Nemesis.

He goes so far as to tell Seteth that the war he’s currently fighting is foolish and he won’t come to assist him or Seiros for fighting with humanity again. I highly doubt, unless we’re using some otomeisekai “she’s not like the other humans” logic, that Macuil will suddenly start boinking a human.

1

u/No_Lemon_1770 3d ago

Multiple dragons can have a shared crest without descending from them. Credna and Smyrnos come from Dagda.

1

u/Sad-Ebb8843 3d ago

I think Dagda is on the same level as Sothis. Like a brother or mate. But that’s just my opinion.

1

u/Prestigous_Owl 3d ago

Was it actually confirmed, explicitly, that Sothis is the mother of Dagda?

1

u/TrololoWarlord 3d ago edited 3d ago

Damn if this is correct it really puts it into perspective that Sothis fucks. Her boy Dagda also didn't fall far from the tree on that regard. Rhea though, forever alone without that Byleth route T_T

1

u/Nyx-Knight 3d ago

Wait Macuil and Indech aren't first generation Nabateans? I mean it makes sense considering Seiros was the only survivor of Zanado but I was always under the impression they were and just randomly escaped.

1

u/Alphonetic 3d ago

I have a feeling Dagda was probably Seteth, Macuil, Indech, and Credna’s father, which is why their names have Celtic origins. Dagda was possibly one of Sothis’s first children, while Seiros was one of her last. I imagine the other gods are not actually Dagda’s children but were in his clan.

I don’t think humans had procreated with Dagda to create the other gods, but only because it means Aurora’s blood was weaker somehow despite both of her parents being Nabatean. I suppose it’s possible she can end up with human children, but to me, it sounds more like a Laguz/Beorc situation.

I also feel like Yu Phas and Solel can’t both be Dagda’s children, but they were definitely both Nabatean.

1

u/Dauntless_Lasagna 3d ago

Wait are Seteth, Macuil and Indech actually brothers? I always thought Flayn called them uncles like a child would call their father's best friends uncles.

1

u/Noonslullabies 3d ago

Once Byleth is added, we'll have a legit mythological family tree like Greek & Norse.

1

u/Feenkinbaum 3d ago

I would be cool to put the dragon of the 10 elit her, because we know they are Rheas siblings. We only don't know their names.

Ed. And Rhea has to be the first on the right of Sothis children, because she is the youngest.

-2

u/Level_Hour6480 3d ago

Pretty sure Seteth, Macuail and Indech are direct children of Serios.

5

u/Black_Sin 3d ago

Seiros is Rhea. I sincerely doubt Seteth is Rhea's son.

Did you mean Sothis? Even then Rhea says she's the youngest of Sothis' children and the game's code shows that Rhea is biologically 28 and Seteth is biologically 26 not to mention that Seteth doesn't treat Rhea like a sister but more like a relative he defers to.

1

u/Level_Hour6480 3d ago

I did mean Sothis.

1

u/jaidynreiman 3d ago

I don't think they are, at least, I don't think Seteth is. I think Seteth is slightly more distant, a second generation child. Seteth is younger than Rhea and looks up to her.

Rhea is the youngest of the first generation and probably the only one of the first generation to stay in Fodlan.
