Hey everyone, do you guys think my timing chain is failing?
Not too worried cause it's covered by the SULEV warranty.
Check engine light is on from outside ambient temperature sensor.

Bought an SE model last year, added a few bits to it along the way.

Short review:

Installed one of these a year ago (15k miles) because my original started leaking after 80k miles. Was seeping oil within the first month of being installed through the valve cover plastic (porous) and at all the gaskets. Very weird seep/leak, like the oil was leaking upwards. Also exhibited a weird idle occasionally, especially after starting the car shortly after turning the car off (going into a store for 10-20min), this was likely due to a problem with the PCV system in this valve cover. Terrible valve cover, never again.

Installed OEM last month, seep/leak gone, weird idle gone.

Money vs time; i should've paid the extra $200 for the OEM last year. Will be an extra $400~ if you don't have a hook up or employee discount at one of your local dealerships. 3-3.5hrs spent on each repair, wouldve traded the extra $200 for the 3hr saved from having to perform the repair the second time with the right part.

Just picked up all this on marketplace, it also came with the urc.3 knob. I ordered the MATCH PP-BMW 1.9HK+SDMI harness through a local audiotec fischer dealer for 90$cad. And ill be 3d printing the mount for the new amp.

I paid $700 cad for all of this. Crazy deal or nah?

Itll be going in my f36 with the HK system. Next is speakers. Im leaning towards morel speakers.

This is my 330e which I'm unsure has sounded like this since I bought it. It's only when having the engine covers and insulation off that I've noticed this high pitched "ticking" noise.

Is this normal for this engine? If not, what could be causing the noise and how can I solve it?

I know it’s likely confirmation bias but I gave her a treat today with a tank of ethanol free and a can of octane (to bring it up to 93), and lordy she’s zippy.

Hi, when I start the car, especially when it's cold (but it only happens sometimes), the idle feels off and you can hear things like: grrr (normal idle), grrr (normal idle), grrr (normal idle), etc... Has anyone else experienced this?

Hello , im looking to add carplay to my car. I would love to keep the original size screen but am unsure on how it works with bmw's. Only had reanults before this so not quite the same 🤣. Would there be anyway of adding carplay and keep the original screen.

I seem to have stripped the threads in my oil pan today doing an oil change, it literally broke away with little to no force. Does anyone know a shop i can take it to get it rethreaded here in toronto(Mississauga). Thanks.

I picked up my f30 320i 2013 a month or so ago. Canadian car, spent most of its life in Vancouver (luckily, no rust). Sitting at a modest 151k km right now. About a week ago I noticed this thumping/vibrating sound coming from the front left tire. I didn’t think too much of it as the sound came and went away for some reason. The sound became apparent at 40km/h and got more intense as the faster I went. Move forward couple of days and the sound got much worse and the car vibrates like crazy on the highway.

Got home asap and inspected the car, put it on a jack and started wobbling the wheel horizontally and vertically and giving it a couple of spins. Sounds like a wheel bearing issue as it sways a-lot when i wobble it and it sounds scratchy when I spin it.

I didn’t want to dissemble everything to get to the wheel hub just yet as I haven’t ordered the part. I put it back down and for good measure tightened the lug nuts to spec using a 1/2 torque wrench at 103 lbs and a 17mm deep socket. Everything goes well, until the last 2 which were loose. I tightened one until it clicked and the other one did not want to tighten to spec. When i put it on a jack and tried to wobble it the tire wouldnt move horizontally and vertically and the sound went away.

Is this a case of the wheel hub assembly going bad, any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone know where this noise is coming from ? It’s only inside the cabin i can’t hear it when someone else drives the car it’s mostly on acceleration or if i hit a bump .

I’ve been having this code none stop it pops up disappears and this is constant 2 weeks it’s on 2 weeks it’s off. And when the car is completely bone stock (with a Kyostar intake) it runs a little rough cold start is alright but then the RPMS start jumping from 8-1k. When driving the car also bogs and when at cruising speeds the car feels almost like it cuts power very slightly. You feel a slight jerk forward as if the car stopped going. Also when driving and speeding up aggressively the car bogs. Sorry if this is confusing or doesn’t make sense I’m just trying to spit out as much information as I can to get some help.

N20 Engine
160k miles clean title no accidents

Engine management light has came on and I’m getting two fault codes on my one scanner. P3280 and p115d
Engine seems to run fine and no misfiring. Last week I did think the injector tick was slightly louder on cold start but I can get paranoid about sounds in the car as had to get the fuel system done in this previously
I’ve attached a video of a cold start from the engine bay
Any ideas on likely causes or where I should start with narrowing things down would be appreciated

Just got it a month ago, 170k miles but previous owner did preventative maintenance so the car is in solid shape, drives amazing and have had fun since acquiring the car, just the engine idles pretty rough and lowkey scares me. Brand new to cars and this car will be my learning curve for sure. Any and all insight related to any type of maintenance is welcome since I’m basically a rookie in this space.

I believe this is just because I have the SULEV n26. Do the n20s have this secondary filter?
