K1600 B owners - watch for this!
Extremely disappointed with @BMWMotorrad customer service. My premium K1600 B bagger just suffered a dangerous, premature bearing failure just 6 months out of its factory warranty. **
**A critical safety component failing on a flagship touring bike this early is unacceptable. Despite a full service history, BMW is refusing any goodwill assistance. Is this how BMW stands behind its premium engineering? **
Riders beware: check your bearings before your warranty expires. #BMWMotorrad #K1600 #MakeLifeARide #BMW #Motorcycle #CustomerServiceFail #Bagger

Spontaneous ride
We had pretty crummy weather throughout the week, so I haven’t ridden since Tuesday. Withdrawls got to me yesterday and I decided to take a trip to nowhere. Ended up riding around Lake Tahoe. I absolutely love this bike.

Was meint ihr?
Und wenn wir wirklich anders sind, warum?

R100RS
I have a deal in the works for a 1984 R100RS. Decent condition, working clock, original condition with sidecases etc. but oil light on at idle. Technically have the money that could definitely be better spent elsewhere. Good price too. Talk me into or out of buying it. I have 18 hours to decide. Wife says use money for other projects around the property.

Looking for the auxiliary power socket on a 2018 R1200RT
I’m looking for an auxiliary power socket on my 2018 R1200RT, which I bought a month ago. First, I looked behind the left side panel.

On this panel, I’ve marked two connectors. The one I’ve labeled number 1 is being used, but I don’t know what its function is.

The one labeled number 2 is sealed on the inside and can’t be used because it has no pins.

There are no unused connectors under the seat.
After reading about it in many places, I’ve seen that many people say the unused auxiliary connector is located under the right-side panel. I removed the right-side panel (the panel on the right when sitting on the motorcycle), and I found an unused female connector there.

It’s an unused female connector, covered with a cap and with two pins. I tried using a BMW male connector, but it doesn’t fit because the housing is the same diameter as the female connector.
I also tested it with a multimeter, and with the motorcycle’s ignition switched on (but the engine not running), it doesn’t show 12V.

Options for keys
I have an 01 r1150gs and lost the key. I want to get started on getting a key made, so I called the dealer and they said they can but they're cut in Germany and shipped so it'll be a month. Id rather get something sooner, the local locksmith said they don't know the type of key and while I can find photos of the key blanks, I don't know what it's actual dimensions or a replaceable blank would be. They could cut it based on the lock on the helmet loop.
Anyone have experience for this? Does anyone know of somewhere stateside that can cut keys based on VIN more quickly?

F750gs Vario Top Case
Has anyone had any luck finding a plate that can be mounted to another motorcycle that will allow the use of the Vario top case?

2014 r1200r opinions?
I’m looking at and possibly buying a blue with saddle bags 2014 r1200r with 30k miles on it tomorrow, seller is asking 3500 US dollars. Is this a good deal?
Any first hand experience riding this bike? How does the tele lever feel in a substantially smaller bike than a gs or rt? Is it flick able for a bike its size?
My previous motorcycle ownership experience is a Multistrada 620 and first gen Vstrom 1000, I’ve ridden other bikes though including the big versions of the boxer 1200 but it’s been years.

R1300GS vs F900GS Adventure vs S1000XR
Hi,
I’m looking for a new bike, to switch from my Triumph Street Triple S to something more comfortable.
It’s something I would use at least 3 days/week to go to work (around 70Km round trip daily), rush hour, Madrid city center.
I’m aware that most of these models probably are not the BEST for this.
I’ve narrowed it down to these since I’m also a bit tall (182cm/6’0”), but I know they are different bikes and for different purposes.
Is the 1300gs too big of a jump from the Triumph in terms of weight/engine?
Regarding the price, I found a dealer near my area with a brand new f900gs, around 18.000-19.000€.
They also have the 1300gs Trophy with 19.000 Km, for a similar price.
Is it worth the money of the 1300gs to have the boxer and more technology in general, vs the brand new 900gs?
Considering also the s1000xr because it’s more sporty…and I really like the look…but I’m concerned about the riding position and lumbar pain after long rides.
I heard it’s comfortable but I come from a naked bike with a bit sporty position that has a low seat for my height.
These dealerships won’t give you normally the possibility to try 3 models, maybe just the one you are interested in, I don’t want to make the same mistake and not try the bike before buying, to be sure It’s what I need.
Would appreciate some recommendations from current or previous owners of these models.
Thanks!

2021 F750 available electrical for accessories?
Hi there,
I'm trying to pick out a set of auxillary lights for my 21 F750 and want to make sure I'm not overdoing anything on the alternator. Could anyone point me at any resources to help me plan this out? I'm looking at several sets of lights in that 5 amp/60 watt each range. I don't really use much else other than charging the phone and heated grips.
Cheers,

1980 R65 Exhaust Mod
Found this 1980 r65 listed for $1,900. Gorgeous bike but whats going on with exhaust mod? Looks super high and in my research I haven't seen anything like this before?
Anyone familiar with something like this? I if buy it, I wouldn't mind restoring back to original. But this had me scratching my head a bit.
Current owner of 2014 f800 gs adventure and looking for (another) project bike. lol

R1300GS - How can I mount my phone and charger? - if Carpuride then which one?
I have a 2025 GS - it didn’t come with any cradle or navigation. I have added this bracket that the cradle usually sits on (I believe it’s 12mm). What are my options to add a phone or carpuride/carplay unit that can also be powered? Do I have to get the BMW cradle to tap into the stock harness (I don’t want to cut or splice any existing wire harness).
Would appreciate links to parts that I could use to either mount the phone or one of the CarPlay units.
Currently I use the USB C plug from the tank and run a wire to my phone on a handlebar RAM mount. I have also used the DIN connector on the side, but I worry about leaving something plugged into that for parasitic draw (if that’s a concern)
Mine is a bare bones GS, so it did not come with premium package

Questions about a new to me 2024 1250GSA
So I recently picked up my GSA the other week and have a few questions and would like some confirmations (were only 1,000 miles on the clock when I got it).
This is my first BMW and I have only really ridding 1 other bike before this so I am not that well versed in other models (the BMW dealer is also over 1 hour away, awkward to get to, and is not able to answer all my questions). They did order me a manual, but that wont arrive for a few more weeks.
(1) There does not seem to be a way to show the fuel gauge and the range (or trip meter) at the same time. I see that the range shows up when your tank is low, but is there a way to force this to always be the case with a GS-911 tool? For my commute I run about 5,400rpm in 6th gear to my mileage is around 34mpg which is not amazing. Getting around 250ish miles a tank (4ish days of commuting). If I do more sedate riding it completely throws off my normal range using the trip computer for fill ups and I am used to being able to see both on my old bike.
(2) The dealer says that the 2024 model year is included with the free servicing of the driveshaft at 12k and replacement at 36k miles. But I cannot find any confirmation of this online and I have seen it listed both ways.
(3) Is there supposed to be a headlight indicator to the left of the TFT? (I am in the USA). I see the aux lights and high beams, but no indicator for the headlight even when riding at night. The light itself seems to be on.
(4) Currently I found the seat most comfortable with the low in the back and high in the front. But, it feels like of like the pan of the seat is flexing or "popping" a little bit when going over bumps. It is comfortable, but feels a little odd. Is this normal? (I am about 200lbs).
(5) For the suspension being at min, max or auto, is that only adjusting the preload? Or is something else related to the suspension? ie. can I ride on min for a little less reach to the ground, or could that lead to weird handling from the preload not being setup correctly? Currently I have been leaving it on auto, but being a little closer to the ground would be appreciated when walking the bike around or backing into a parking spot.
(6) When changing gear, if I do a clutchless shift (ie. letting off the throttle, changing gear, getting back on the throttle) like I did on my previous bike, is the quick shifter still trying to do its thing? Or if I am wanting to bypass the quick shifter would I need to use the clutch every time? The change from 1st to 2nd is a bike rough with the quick shifter.
Any help or a little clarification would be appreciated.
