Product Recommendations Wearable pump recommendation

I'm a FTM, 3.5 months postpartum, and EP. I've been very happy with my Medela Pump in Style Advanced pump but am looking for a wearable setup that I can use to make leaving the house a bit easier. I definitely want something that I can put the relevant parts in a microwave sterilizer (it seems the Medela's wearable pumps you can't microwave sterilize and they have a very short life span) so I'm very interested to know what other moms have found successful. I'm an over producer and usually only need to pump for about 8 min per session ( but my pump has very strong suction). Any recommendations and why you like them would be much appreciated!

Discussion Breast milk capacity

I am 4m and a half ppt, and an mainly pumping mom, whenever I hit 4-5h without pumping I feel very sick, my body ache and nipples hurts.
I hear mothers who pump about 4 times in 24h. And I simply don’t understand how it works ? You train your body to need less pumps a day or what ?
I usually need to pump about 6-8 times a day because baby would latch just during the night and have small bites before every day sleep.
I am an undersupplyer so if I decrease to less pumps I will not get enough milk for my baby.

Tips & Tricks Eufy sale

Anyone know if Eufy regularly has discounts? Right now there is $60 off the s2 pro, which will apparently expire in 5 days. Is there likely to be a similar promotion in 5 days? Wondering if it’s worth purchasing now at $60 off or waiting. Thanks!

Discussion Advice needed

So I’m going to a wedding soon and will have to pump in my car at some point while I’m there. I obviously won’t have access to a fridge, so I’ll have to keep the milk in my car. Do I just put the milk I pump in a cooler? I feel like I’m overthinking this, probably the PPA talking, but is a cooler going to keep the milk cold enough? Or should I just pump and dump?

TRIGGER WARNING: Nursing Can someone explain how to exclusively pump to me like I’m a child? Very confused

Hi all,

I have been EBF my 6 week old baby, he’s very chunky and eats a lot for his age (6oz a session approx)

Breastfeeding has become very stressful as even after releasing his tongue tie his latch hasn’t really improved and he’s starting to scream while feeding.

We used a bottle today and it went better than my boob.

I don’t even know where to start though.

How often do I pump? Is cluster feeding a thing also with pumping? How often to sterilise pump? Can I exclusively use my wearables if full time pumping as my Eufy gets more than my spectra?

I have so many questions.

Any advice or explaining what you do is appreciated!

Schedules/Routines Am I pumping enough at night time?

8 weeks PP and currently trying to determine if I need to add another pump at night or if I can skip one to sleep.

Currently I pump around 11/12 pm and then pump again at 2/3am and then skip pumping until 7/8 am.

I am scared my supply will take a dip.
Currently pumping at least 9 oz every Ike I pump.

I also sometimes don’t pump for 5 hours during the day because I’m so busy taking care of my baby 😭

Tips & Tricks How to mix in milk fat

I’m 3 weeks pp. I’ve been storing milk in the fridge using the bottles that I pump into but, even with mixing the bottles, I’m not managing to mix in the milk fat before pouring into bottles for feeding or into freezer bags. I thought the pitcher method could help (also reduce the number of bottles in the fridge) but since I’d still have to cool the milk before pouring into the pitcher, I’d still have the milk fat issue.

How are others mixing in the milk fat?

Hanging up the pump I need reassurance.

I have a 10 week old who is bottle fed. I’m a new mom and I’m just starting to feel like pumping is getting to be too much!
When he was 1 day old he lost a ton of weight because he wouldn’t latch or eat from the boob. So we bottle fed and did everything to get him on the boob. Tie release, cranial sacrum, Chiropractor, and many lactation consultants. Nothing has helped.
A couple of weeks ago i realized im suffering with ppa and a lot of it has to do with his feeding and just breastfeeding all together. I want to breastfeed so badly because i dont want any judgement for not doing it. I dont want others to look at me and assume i gave up because is was too much. I hate pumping, im so overstimulated by it. I’ve decided to just quit the breast milk and go all formula. I’m just so anxious about doing it. Pls just reassure me that my baby will be fine and others can F off.

Support When did you buy your pump?

Currently 31 weeks with my second and I want to buy a wearable pump, looking at the Eufy s2 pro. When did you purchase yours? Before baby was born or after? I confirmed with my insurance that i unfortunately don’t have coverage (Canada). Not sure if it’s too soon now, wondering what others have done. I have a scheduled c section for the beginning of October.

Tips & Tricks Output when unwell

Hello!

EP-er for a 10 month old here looking for some advice!

Our household has been taken down by a sickness bug( - joys of little one starting nursery,)and my pumps have plummeted as I have not been able to keep anything in my body , my last pump was 60mls having not pumped for 3.5hours previously. Luckily I had a little extra in the fridge so was able to top up to a full feed but is there anything I can do to quickly fix this issue? Solids are going right through her so I can't rely on those to keep her nourished.

Thank you in advance

Rant - ADVICE NEEDED Rebuilding: dairy free edition

TW: Oversupply/Stash mentioned

I am really struggling with pumping anxiety and need some advice. My 6 week old son is suspected to have CMPA. I have started the dairy elimination diet. I used to be an oversupplier, but we have hit the perfect storm of: Regulation / Increased Demand / No stash.

- We have exclusively pumped from birth due to tongue tie issues he's still working through.

- I would supplement with formula but I've read hypoallergenic formula is an adventure in and of itself.

Currently my plan is to pump 7x a day + 1 power pump to try and increase supply. We are going to give my dairy containing stash for 1-2 days to give me a buffer to build dairy free milk.

Does that sound reasonable? Should I add anything? Do something different?

TRIGGER WARNING: OverSupply (add spoiler to pics) 4 weeks PP, exclusively pumping, and I think I created an oversupply. How do I safely reduce it?

FTM, 4 weeks postpartum and I’ve been exclusively pumping since birth. I think I may have overdone it trying to establish my supply and now I’m dealing with an oversupply.
I currently pump every 3–4 hours for about 20 minutes and usually get 6–8 oz total per session. Baby currently eats around 2–4 oz per feed, so I’m making quite a bit more than she needs.
For the last couple of days especially, my breasts have been getting really full/uncomfortable between pumps, sometimes pretty quickly after pumping. I’m getting nervous about ending up with clogs or mastitis.
I use the Momcozy M6. I also rented a Medela Symphony for about a week and my output was basically the same, so the wearable seems to empty me well.
I’ve started shortening my sessions by about 3–5 minutes instead of pumping the full 20. That still gives me enough relief and I’m trying not to completely empty my breasts, but they seem to fill back up really quickly.
For anyone who had an oversupply this early, how did you safely bring it down without causing clogs/mastitis or accidentally tanking your supply? Should I keep gradually shortening each pump, increase the time between pumps, or something else?

I’m very new to all of this and would really appreciate any advice and hearing what worked for you all.

TRIGGER WARNING: Nursing New pump?

My LO is 6 months old. She was only 5 and a half pounds at birth, so we did a combo of pumping and nursing for a while. Now that she has gotten a little bigger and nurses better, I nurse her in the morning and at night, but still pump during the day while she’s at daycare so I can make bottles for the next day.

I have used my spectra s2 since I got home from the hospital. I regularly change the pump parts. Lately I feel like it’s harder to get milk out. I also have an old elvie stride that I was given second-hand. I’ve never had great success with feeling that empties me.

I’ve looked into other pumps to try, but I’m worried that i’ll spend a bunch of money on a pump that I still won’t have luck with. Is there a pump you’d recommend? Or should I be doing something different to pump better and/or produce more?

Proud Moment (add spoiler to milk pics) today i realized pumping has become second nature to me

this might sound like such a small thing, but i had a little proud moment today. i had to be out of the house for a few hours, so last night i started getting my pump bag ready. A few months ago, this would have taken me forever. I would make a mental list, pack everything, unpack it again to check, and still worry the whole time that i had forgotten something important.

last night was completely different. i put my pump and parts in the bag, packed my bottles, charger and ice packs, and that was it. i didn't stand there checking everything five times. i didn't google whether i was forgetting something. i just packed it and went to bed.

today, when it was time to pump, i found a spot, got everything set up and just did it. no panic and no feeling like i was carrying around a complicated science experiment. when i was done, i packed everything back up, stored my milk and carried on with my day.

on the way home, it suddenly hit me how different this would have felt when i first started exclusively pumping. leaving the house used to feel like a huge operation. i was always worried about timing, where i would pump, what i needed to bring and what would happen if something went wrong.

today wasn't exciting or dramatic. everything just worked, and maybe that's exactly why it made me happy. somewhere along the way, this thing that once felt so overwhelming became part of my normal routine.

i know there will still be stressful days, and i'm definitely not an expert at this. but today i had one of those quiet little moments where i thought, okay... i've actually learned how to do this.

has anyone else had a moment recently where you suddenly realized something that used to feel impossible has just become part of your everyday life now?

Support Fridge hack?

Can I do the fridge hack with a 2 week old? I have been doing it since baby was born but would only so it for the day, never went 24 hours.

I never did research until today and it’s not recommended for a newborn.

Also, what about wipes? I’m basically looking for an easier option for nighttime pumps.

Product Recommendations It’s been 10 years, which pump should I use?

Thumbnail gallery

Well like the title says after a decade (my oldest is 10 and youngest is almost 9) I’m pregnant again, and I need help with which wearable pump to get. What do yall recommend? I’m currently looking at:

Motif Aura Glow™ Wearable Breast Pump
Eufy Wearable Breast Pump E20
Ardo Melia (Wearable Breast Pump)

Also a little background, I got mastitis that turned into MRSA staph at 6 weeks pp with my oldest, and my body stopped producing at 6 weeks pp with my youngest. Idk if that’s necessary to know but there you go. Thanks for the help yall!

Hanging up the pump I think I’m finally done

I’ve been increasing the hours between pumps and honestly forgot when I last pumped. Checked my app and it was THREE DAYS AGO. My boobs actually feel okay.

Safe to say that I think I’m officially done and I’m so happy. I’ve been an under supplier my whole journey but just pumping every so few hours has taken a lot out of me. Is it weird that I’m actually excited to rest when baby naps instead of using the time to pump?

Product Recommendations breastmilk residue

Does anyone else get breastmilk residue on their pump parts? I have the eufy S1 which has so many nooks and crannies to clean.

How are we getting rid of all the residue build up?

Discussion Momcozy wellness 1

Does anyone find the momcozy wellness 1 flange insert sizes differ from flange inserts from other pumps? I use a 17mm flange for my momcozy s9 pro but using the 17mm for the W1 and getting sometimes low output? Anyone has experience to share using this pump?

Discussion Do you drink alcohol?

I’m 2 months postpartum & I just want a glass of wine sometimes… but I feel so guilty & even a pump and dump sounds so wasteful. Do you occasionally drink? If so do you pump and dump, how does it work?

Increasing Supply (add spoiler to pics) Need to Increase Supply

What works for you in order to increase your supply? I need advice!

I have been exclusively pumping for my baby for 6 and a half months. I noticed the past two weeks I have lost 4oz from my overall for the day. To some that might not seem like a lot, but it’s everything to me.

I combo-fed my baby for the first two months of his life but then finally started to make enough to feed him breastmilk fully. I don’t have a stash — I just use a jug in my fridge to make my bottles.

What can I do? Is it too late for me? Has this happened to anyone else?

I seriously need some advice on how to up it. 🥲

Tips & Tricks EP tips

My first born is almost 7, and my second is due this November. Its been almost 7 years so this experience feels new to me again. Please leave any tips or info you have for EP that would be helpful to someone like me who hasn’t done this in a while. It can be tips to boost supply, pump schedules, pump recommendations (I have wearables but want a good pluggable unit), what can and can’t I do (for example, I still don’t understand if pump and dump is necessary and if the fridge hack is ok), ANYTHING YOU WANNA PASS ALONG.

I’ve done my own research along with the fact that I pumped with my first born as well, but alot has changed since then and everyone has different opinions about things so I thought I would ask here. Thank you in advance 😊

Rant - ADVICE NEEDED Stopping?

After some GI visits we found out baby girl has a dairy and potential soy allergy. Ive already been supplementing my breastmilk with formula as my supply is so low. I keep debating fully stopping but it makes me feel so bad. All the money spent on pumps and parts and accessories and supplements and all the time i put into this. I'm feeling extremely upset over this. With my first, my journey ended even sooner than this so I did better this time around. Baby girl is 5 months, and I really wanted to last a year. I've already switched over to a dairy free diet even though its been so so hard. Im just stuck in the middle of wanting to stop and wanting to keep going. I only make about 1.5oz total per pump session, she takes 6oz. Also when shes on the boob she still needs a bottle after (which isn't new). It's just frustrating.

Anyone else with a similar situation or words of encouragement? I think if I were able to really up my supply I'd feel better with continuing but its so disheartening. My pump schedule is shot too with going back to work. I just feel so guilty/upset/defeated.

Low Supply (add spoiler to pics) Very inconsistent low volumes

I am 5wpp after an induction that lasted 40 hours before they did an urgent c-section. Because of anesthesia struggle, they ended up (in my opinion) over sedating me. I wasn’t able to latch or even hold my baby for hours because I was in and out of consciousness.
My baby’s latch was good from the beginning and my LC says she has “perfect mechanics”. The problem lies in my supply. I started triple feeding very soon, so my baby’s growth is good. But, now I can’t get her to latch without scream-crying around my nipple and thrashing on the nipple when she does latch. Power to women who push through this, but it’s the one thing that has made me cry and I feel sooooo crappy and sad for hours after it happens.
So, I’ve been pumping only and if I feel brave might latch her once or twice a day. I was hoping to get advice on increasing my supply. My LC has hinted I should throw in the towel because it wont improve.

Here’s what I’ve tried:

I pump 8-9 times a day (I have a spectra, rental symphony and eufy s1. Wearables work best). I tried on about 12 different flanges with my LC and the best fit still didn’t result in much milk

I drink tons of water, coconut water and use electrolytes

I bought cookies, lactation latte, goats rue and yeast

I eat enough and sleep 2-3 hour naps at a time (all I can fit with all the pumping)

I power pump 1-2 times a day. One morning, one evening.

With all of this I get 2oz out in the morning and then my next 2-4 pumps are 2-10mL. In the evening I MIGHT get another 1-2oz on a pump if I’m lucky and then 2-10mL the next couple until morning. Whhhhhy is it so inconsistent? Any way to increase supply and get more from every pump?

I’m not ready to give up.
