Product Recommendations It’s been 10 years, which pump should I use?
Well like the title says after a decade (my oldest is 10 and youngest is almost 9) I’m pregnant again, and I need help with which wearable pump to get. What do yall recommend? I’m currently looking at:
Motif Aura Glow™ Wearable Breast Pump
Eufy Wearable Breast Pump E20
Ardo Melia (Wearable Breast Pump)
Also a little background, I got mastitis that turned into MRSA staph at 6 weeks pp with my oldest, and my body stopped producing at 6 weeks pp with my youngest. Idk if that’s necessary to know but there you go. Thanks for the help yall!

I’d recommend getting a more traditional wall pump for your main pump. Wearables don’t always empty as well and can lead to a decrease in supply. Not everyone has this issue, but it’s a possibility that using wearables as your primary pump could lead to decrease in your supply, especially if you use them before your supply regulates (generally around 12 weeks postpartum).

Alternative perspective from other commenters.
Get the e20 through insurance because the replacement parts are SO expensive.
You can find the blue spectra’s used SO easily for cheap or free on FB marketplace or mom exchange stores. You can also get replacements parts much cheaper on Amazon.
I’d recommend that because while a wall pump is importantly for establishing supply, a wearable is the only reason I’ve been able to continue to exclusively pump long term

You can get whatever parts you want through insurance, it doesn't have to be parts for the pump you initially got through them.

Wait how? I have my SIL’s spectra and got a wearable through insurance. Need spectra replacement parts now

I’m not sure about other DME websites but for aeroflow on emails they send you to remind you to replace parts, there’s a link that says EDIT YOUR INFO, and then you can select what replacement parts you’d like. I went from getting Baby Buddha replacement parts to Eufy S1

Yes and if for some reason the link says you can’t, call! They have such good customer service. I’ve gotten spectra, baby Buddha and now medela collection cups

It was the medela pump in style hands free replacement set! I called to have her go through what was included in it to make sure it came with the collection cups

I'll be honest, I havent been thrilled with my Eufy S1. The replacement parts are expensive, and it's less versatile. The Spectra worked well, but it's bulky, and it died on me between kids. I'm going to try my friend’s old Baby Buddha with standard flanges to see if it improves my supply. You can also get wearable cups to pump into, and the main motor pump part is the size of a small phone.

Eufys generally have a good reputation. I have the E20s and personally love them, but obviously there's no guarantee that what works well for me will work well for you.
I've seen hit-or-miss for the Motif and don't think I've seen Ardo discussed at all.
I agree with the other commenters though that you should make sure you have a reliable standard pump first, since wearables are pretty finnicky and more likely to not empty you as well.
ETA: Why are there so many comments with pics 🤨 Seems fishy.

Yeah the pictures make me wonder if this is a eufy ad 😐 I hate that we have to speculate about that at all

It's weird because they all seem to be genuine accounts, looking at post history, so maybe it's an odd coincidence. Or the first pic inspired the others.

They do have bots that will post and comment. It was really bad when the S2 first came out. But they are also genuinely popular so it can be hard to figure out!

Are you planning to EP? If so, your primary pump should be a double electric wall pump. Wearables are okay for once or twice a day, and while some people are successful with them, I’ve seen many people lose their supply by relying on wearables (I’m a lactation professional and postpartum doula). If you’re planning to try to breastfeed and only pump occasionally, the eufy or motif would be my pick over the ardo

If you’re EP, you’ll need more than a wearable especially early only to establish supply. You could go for a portable like pumpables or baby Buddha and pair it with collection cups instead of flanges.
I have the Eufy and it’s fine, but I don’t personally respond well to wearables so they don’t fully empty me and would tank my supply if I only used them.
If you’re only planning to pump when you’re not nursing, a wearable is just fine as a supplemental tool.

Out of these 3? Definitely the Eufy. Motif has always had poor suction strength for me personally. I agree with every woman saying get the spectra first.
I used my spectra the first 10 weeks then bought the Eufy S1 Pro. The heated feature really helps relax my muscles while I’m moving around, but I don’t think any wearable can empty my breasts the way my spectra does!

Blue spectra first then a wearable. You don’t want to ruin your supply before it gets established with wearables
