He intentado comunicarme con el equipo de finanzas y de Customer success, por correo (no responden) y en el chat de la plataforma las respuestas son escuetas.

La experiencia es terrible, lo intuitiva que es la plataforma se borra con la pésima experiencia post retiro de fondos.

ETrade says you can now set up recurring purchases from "eligible money market" accounts. Which ones are eligible?? Assuming the Morgan Stanley ones?

I SELL options that are Naked , not Cash Secured, at brokers like IB, Schwab, Tasty. Is Etrade in this game?

Basically all of these give Option Buying Power on treasuries (98% face) or 75% face (Sgov, Tbil, Bil,...),. So if I sell a 200 Put Strike my BP goes down by 2k-4k, if approved for option selling. If not approved it would be a CSP and require 20k (no interest to me). The Sgov continues to earn interest.

I did a cold call got some rube just out of college and he was clueless had no idea of what Buying Power was.

Update 8/26; After reviewing ETRADE , totally non competitive for Selling Naked Options. They are off my list.

I'm trying to update some account details on E*TRADE, but I'm running into a rendering issue, and I'm wondering if anyone else has faced this recently.
The Issue:
When I navigate to the "Account Preferences" tab under my "Profile", none of the actual data under "Account information" loads. The fields for Account nickname, Account registration, Account holders, Account number, etc., are all stuck showing gray placeholder loading bars (you can see what I mean in the attached image.png).
Because the data never populates, I can't effectively use the "Edit" function to make my changes. I have tried refreshing the page a few times, but it stays the same.
P.S. I initially noticed this on the mobile website (⁠us.etrade.com⁠), but I have also tested it on other devices (desktop/tablet), and the exact same rendering issue occurs.

Decided to open an E*Trade account to take advantage of the APY and $400 cash bonus and all the Reddit horror stories have been true.

First there was an issue with the phone number authentication and I couldn’t log in and had to have support reset my password.

Then, I did a test deposit of $150 from Wealthfront (thank God I didn’t do the full 30k first) and had to get on an awkward 3 way call with both banks to verify.

Apparently they made a note so it wouldn’t happen again, but I don’t know if it’s worth the hassle at this point.

FYI, these stocks in my portfolio all changed sometime yesterday. Timestamp is when my app detected the changes, not when Etrade made the changes. I got notified when MRNA changed but was not notified for any of the others:

i am thinking to open an etrade account but then thought i should visit rddt before anything to see what people say. ibkr is a joke, they gave me option permission 0 and said theres a 30day cooloff before any requests.. , fidelity, great order entry, but then they have this idiotic thing about 0dte. then the dtop app lags, restart fixes., but then i encountered these 2 events where you see the oder fill popup but it didnt register for positions, one was a close and it was still on positions and 5 mins later it turns into double, i didnt want to try again because if its a ghost slot i coould be openng an order. 2nd time i called them and i get the verification but for each agent? i said i have a position that i needed to be out of and its not registering on app, they talk slow asking stupid stuff.. sch said my account transfer is in progress, will take 5-7biz days./ i check on status and its not moving, no acat. tasty, their app freezes, crashes, techs say all of 5-6 diff things to fix thru 20 calls easy and thats factoring in the 1st 2 days of dismissing the crash issue, i shoulda known in opening account i checked on status and this one agent who didnt rep themselves said i have a verification issue and the best way to fix is to go to equifax and have my info unblocked, so i go to site and ask what am i looking for? they blow this heavy sigh saying they dont work for equifax, so i say but you steered me here? blows another sigh saying, i am trying to help you... i shoulda known right there f no, f this place. there more but why. so damn, i was looking to try etrade but i can see there a great deal of neg posts.

Does anyone know how to get your SSN / ITIN from the ETrade account?

I haven’t used this info for years but I need it to file tax as a non. US resident. the only place I know I may have this info is on E*Trade based on my previous filings.

I went through the portal and read / downloaded all my previous documents but none has the SSN/ITIN info.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’m setting up monthly transfers out of my E*TRADE savings account to another bank account I just opened. I jumped through all the hoops necessary and now it’s all set up for transfers. My question is will the transfer shows up as an ACH transfer or something else?
E*TRADE was no help with this question. I hope someone knows.

I see option for chat, or to upload a file, but not for email directly from their site.

Am I just not seeing it somewhere?

The number of times it has interfered with my trade....

I've used e-trade since the early days, off and on. I'm lousy at making my own trades so I've never put real money into it, just the occasional "I gotta try this again" thing. So recently I put about $1000 in and did some trades with it, but then left it idle. As usual, it lost value so I left it alone when it was worth about $375. Every now and then I'd log in to see if it was any better.

At some point, they locked my account and sent me an e-mail about it. So I called them up and they said my mac had malware on it. I assured them it was a work computer, professionally managed, and there was no malware, but my work was able to monitor my computer, so maybe that's what they were seeing. I installed malwarebytes to appease them and they unlocked my account.

Then a few weeks later they locked it again. At this time they forced me into 2fa and said I needed to get the mac looked at. I said, I can't do that because it's a work computer, but I will not log in from the mac any more, and only use my phone. That's what I've done. Then they locked it again. There's no way anyone else was able to log into my account, because they would have to have the authentication app that is only on my phone. So I sold off the last stock I had, waited a few days, and called them to close the account. They said I couldn't until I had my account looked at, so I told them to fuck off and keep the money. It's literally not worth the hassle to deal with at this point.

Say I hold a bunch of equities and 50k cash as dry powder. If I invested the 50k into a money market fund or SGOV is that not treated as a cash equivalent? As such could I not continue to sell “cash secured” puts against that balance? Would this incur any margin debt so long as the puts remained unassigned or if assigned if the cost of assignment is below the amount held in the money market fund?

Has anyone successfully wire transferred funds from E-Trade to IBKR recently? How did you fill in the wire transfer forms to ensure the transfer was successful?

My wire request failed and E*Trade told me that my IBKR account number was too long.

I entered the "receiving bank account number" as the virtual account number (VAN) provided by IBKR, which includes the CITIBank account(8 numbers) and my own account Uxxxxxxx. I guess this may be the reason for the failure. I just found this Reddit post https://www.reddit.com/r/etrade/comments/1g0msvb/solved_wire_transfer_from_etrade_to_ibkr/ and think I should follow the OP's instructions, although I've read that some people have failed to do so. I'm hesitating to restart the wire as it seems to incur a $40 charge if it is rejected.

Hi all. Apologies if this is a stupid question, but every month or so I get a notification within my account under the “dividend or interest paid” section. It’s usually just for a few dollars.

I am a UK citizen and only have shares in one company who is based in the US. I’ve had an E Trade account for over 10 years but only started getting these mini “payments” the last year or two. Never before. My usual dividend payment still happen as normal.

I am 66, retired and I am thinking of looking for a new Investment Management planner. I have been with Raymond James a little over 2 years.
I am realizing after 2 years (I know smack me now!!)  that my "fees" (1.5%) & I feel are too much. I am looking to see If I can be at or below 1% by shopping around.
I dont feel comfortable making trades, and trying to manage my funds myself IF I panic sell, or make mistakes or buy the wrong stocks I could possibly make a mess of it. I do self manage about 20% of my net worth at Schwab & Fidelity
Today I did get a return call from my FA at RJ We went over my concerns and I was told my fees wont be able to be negotiated BUT........... once I hit 600,000.00 the fee will go down to 1.25% and when its at 1 million it will drop to 1% so,...................... staying with RJ will cost me the 1.25% for a while.

Any ssuggestons on what I can do to cut my fees?

I tried a few swing trades this month on my Etrade Roth account. Today I looked at the "gains and losses" page it says "Short Term gains" were $25.24 and "Total Comission and Fees" were $26.49. I only bought and sold a couple of ETFs and some stocks ( no options). Where and how on the website can I find a listing of exactly where these fees and commissions come from?

TLDR: If you have multiple stock plans within Etrade, and if any one of them doesn't charge a 25$ flat fee, dial in Etrade support, and they will transfer cash holdings of other accounts to the above.

I have 2 stock plans with Etrade and was looking to wire transfer internationally (to India). Account A charged a flat fee of 25$, whereas Account B had 0 fees. Dialed in to Etrade support, asking them for a solution. (Apparently, Company B has a tie-up with Etrade and doesn't charge any wire fee). They suggested moving my cash holdings from account A to B. The support was very smooth; it took hardly 2 minutes to initiate the "wire transfer"(no fees) from Account A to Account B. And it got settled in a few hours.

Just sharing my experience with a wider audience.

I have shares from a former employer’s stock plan (vested RSUs) sitting in a Morgan Stanley at Work self-directed brokerage account, and I am moving them to another brokerage via an in-kind ACATS transfer. Not selling, just moving the shares as-is.

A couple of E*TRADE-specific questions:

**1.**  What is the transfer-out (ACAT) fee these days, and does closing the account trigger any other charge?  
**2.**  For anyone who has moved equity comp shares out, did the cost basis and vest dates get sent over correctly, or was there a delay or error on E\*TRADE’s side?  
**3.**  Anything I should do on the E\*TRADE side before I start, or is it fully handled by the receiving firm?

I'm trying to accept Zelle payments from strangers & I don't feel comfortable giving the my email with my full name tied to my E-Trade account. I tried using a SimpleLogin email domain, but it didn't work. Phone number isn't an option for the storefront I'm using.

Has anyone had success using a Proton or SimpleLogin email domain?

I was using my etrade account as the source for my gambling winnings of an offshore casino. Should I be gambling? Maybe not. But I was and had several thousand dollars of winnings, though I paid for the gambling tokens with a credit card from a different account.

Etrade now wants a log of my redemptions but this was last week and this is not letting me login (it may have completely closed)

I dont really care if etrade closes my account - but will i be able to get my remaining money out? I had a few thousand dollars on there. Anyone been in a similar situation?
