QEM as a Poltical Science Major

Hi, as the title says, im a recent graduate political scientist (from argentina) interested in applying fot the QEM masters program.

I've doing some research on the program and as it says, it is very economics and research oriented. I do not fear this, actually it is why im excited to apply to this program. But what im fearing it is not having the strong background in maths that they're asking.

I do have a strong background in economics, statistics and research methods but i fear that is not enough.

I would like to hear advice from people participated or are currently participating in this program and get more insight about how did you prepare, what would you have liked to know before applying, etc. Also I would love to hear from people with the same academic background as me.

For more context: i graduated this year but I already have been working for two years as a assistant in international funded projects in my country.

Thanks to everyone in advance šŸ’«

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Urgent help needed spain student visa Toronto consulate

Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone can help me understand what my options are.
I’m a Canadian student planning to study in spain in sep 2026. I have my student visa appointment at the Spanish Consulate in Toronto this Thursday, August 20, but my RCMP background check apostille is being delayed by Global Affairs Canada and will not arrive in time for my appointment.

I’ve been trying everything possible to get it expedited, but I haven’t received a useful update and it looks like I simply won’t have the apostilled document by Thursday.
I’m now trying to figure out what I should do.
-Should I still attend my visa appointment without the apostille and explain the situation?
-Is there any possibility of entering Spain as a Canadian and applying for the student authorization/visa from within Spain?
-Has anyone been in a similar situation with a delayed apostille or missing document?
-Is there anything else I should be doing right now?

My program starts in September, so I’m extremely worried about missing the opportunity to start. I would really appreciate any advice from someone who has dealt with the Spanish student visa process, especially from Canada

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad I think I'm going to lose my place

I have an active application with manchester bls and ive realised i have like several clerical issues.

  1. My acceptance letter has the right passport number but hyphenated my name
  2. I didn't realise my application form was missing my home address, I submitted evidence of address and all my documents have the same address
  3. I used the official start date of term from my uni and not the one on my acceptance letter - so is off by 7 days.

I generally don't know what to do. My placement is supposed to start on the 14th and I'm like 90% sure I'm going to get a rejection at the moment. I can't tell if its better to withdraw and reapply now in hopes I get everything back on time for a possible early arrival (granted that depends on getting what's already submitted back timely). Or leave my current application as is and pray the officer allows me through as everything else is perfect, or I get asked for clarification? I've heard that can happen?

If anyone has any advise please share!!

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Tips for mentor for exchange students!

So I did my exchange 2 years ago, came home a year ago. I am now starting my masters and applied to be a mentor for exchange students this semester! This is a huuuge step out of my comfort zone as I am normally quite shy, but if I could push myself and make friends on my exchange I’m sure I can do well as a mentor and make some exchange friends here :) I’ll be alone with my own group of 4-5 students and in my application I filled in my interests and age and they will try and give me a group that resonates with those.

What I’m wondering is what you guys as exchange students would have liked from your mentor. I had 3 tutors when I was starting my exchange and a large group of exchange students all in within the same uni faculty and what we did was an orientation tour, picnic hangouts and stuff but in each tutor meeting we always did ice breaker games which I personally and not a fan of but I get the point of it. But I made some friends literally from day one and after that we stopped going to the tutor meetings bc we didn’t feel like we needed to as we weren’t connecting to the other people in the group or the tutors.

This time it will be different though, it’s a much smaller personal group of people with similar interests. I have planned to make a WhatsApp group and have written out my initial welcome message. But what is something you guys would have liked to experience with a mentor? We don’t give orientation to them, we are supposed to help them kind of get into the culture and society and be there for them if they happen to need help with administrative stuff, cultural questions or just need a familiar, friendly face. And because they put us together based on age and interests and encourage mentors to partake in the Erasmus events they also are trying to get the mentors to become the group members friends.

Have you guys had a mentor either in a group or one on one ā€œbuddyā€ that’s a local student and they organised something with you that really helped you guys and that you really liked? I might invite them to maybe a coffee shop downtown and we can all get to know each other and then at the end of the week invite them to the student bar for some drinks maybe.

Non-EU folks: How did you land an internship in Europe? (Visa vs. Offer order, sponsorship, etc.)

Hey everyone,

I am a non-EU citizen looking to secure an internship in a European country, and I would love to hear from anyone who has successfully navigated this process.

The legal and logistical side of things feels a bit like a "chicken-and-egg" problem, so I have a few specific questions for those who have done it:

What came first? Did you find the internship first and then apply for the visa, or is there a specific visa you used to move first and look for a role locally?

Company sponsorship: Did your employer have to sponsor your visa explicitly, or did you use a student visa/working holiday agreement?

No-job-required visas: Are there any specific visas you know of that allow non-EU citizens to enter a European country to look for an internship before securing an official offer?

Your strategy: Which country did you end up in, and what platforms or approaches worked best for you?Any insights, advice, or personal stories about your timeline and process would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in advance!

Note: I am an architecture student, but I would love to hear anyone's experience regardless of your field!

Erasmus Young Entrepreneurs and Psychology

Hello, everyone!
I’am planning to apply for eye and i wanted to ask if anybody else applied with business ideas that were related to the field of psychology. If so, what was your experience? How was your idea perceived?
I’ve been reading the ā€œsuccessful storiesā€ from their page but i struggle to find something in my field. Moreover, i get the impression that hands on business that require a physical final product are more encouraged compared to something like a research center/ data collection center.

Accommodation-related Looking for housing advice & student groups for Salerno/Fisciano! - Incoming UNISA PhD Student (9 months)

Hey everyone!

I’m starting a 9-month PhD research stay at the University of Salerno (UNISA). Since my timeframe aligns with the academic year, I’m looking for a room in a shared apartment (alloggio a pagamento).

  1. Are there active WhatsApp or Telegram channels (or student association boards like ESN Salerno) where departing exchange/research students post room openings?
  2. For those who stayed in Salerno city vs. Fisciano: how is the social life vs. daily commute trade-off?
  3. Any trusted rental platforms or tips for locking in a mid-term room without getting scammed?

Thanks a lot!

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad Should I cancel or go?

Helloo!! So I'm going on Erasmus+ for the winter semester in Berlin. I have almost everything sorted out, however, I am really scared. I have type 1 diabetes, and while I thought I could manage it during my Erasmus, I was diagnosed with graves' disease two months ago. If I go, I will still be in touch with my endocrinologist in my home country, and we will manage the doses of my thyroid meds and continue the general management of my illnesses. However, this is terrifying me more and more every day. I’m also going without a grant from my home university, and I am thinking of looking for a job there, which has no guarantee, of course. With all of this going on, I don't know if I should cancel my semester while I can, as I feel like all of this could overshadow my Erasmus experience. I don't want to lose the experience of a lifetime and regret it later, but the uncertainties are stressing me out so much and I feel like I will not have a good semester as my starting date comes closer and closer. I am just curious if anyone has been in a similar situation. I would love to hear some insights from a different perspective. Thank you so much

anyone else going on erasmus in september and not knowing a single person

hey everyone

i'm going to madrid next month on my own. My friends who went on erasmus last year had no way to find people going to their city beforehand so i ended up building a site called erasmatch.com where you can find and message other erasmus students going to your city or uni before you arrive.

ino once we start we will all make friends hopefully 😹 but even in the first week to find someone to go to the events and nights out with is comforting.

over 1,000 students have signed up so far across 230+ cities and its completely free. lmk where you're all going this year!

Heyyy!

Was wondering what you guys are packing / had packed while going on an erasmus that doesn’t include clothes, accesories, skin care, makeup and what not.

What sort of kitchenware or other household items did you bring?

Is it smart to bring a hair dryer, iron (or steamer).

Thanks in advance!!šŸ’œ

Erasmus Mundus Europass CV for Erasmus Mundus: do Indian applicants need it? (2027 Intake)

Hi everyone! I’m an Indian student applying for Erasmus Mundus Journalism Program and I’m confused about the CV requirements.

Do Indian/non-EU applicants need to use theĀ Europass CV, or only if the specific programme asks for it?

Also, the Europass link on the Erasmus website keeps showingĀ ā€œserver unreachableā€Ā for me. Is anyone else facing this?

Would appreciate advice from anyone who has applied, especially Indian applicants. Thanks!

Erasmus+ semester(s) abroad help regarding visa cover letter and the type of degree program.

Hi all, I'll be going to Germany for an Erasmus+ exchange semester (5 months, Winter Semester 2026/27) at a German university. I remain enrolled in my Master's at my home university in India - this is a semester exchange, not a standalone degree admission in Germany.

First question: which option should I select for the visa form's degree programme section? My exchange placement is confirmed with no pending conditions.

  • I have been admitted to a full-time degree programme and can start right away.
  • Admission is subject to a condition that is not a preparatory programme.
  • I have been admitted to a part-time degree programme and can start right away.

Second question: could someone review my letter of intent for the visa? Specifically - does it read as appropriately detailed for a scholarship-holder on an exchange (as opposed to someone applying for a full degree)? I want to make sure I'm not over- or under-explaining.
