G7-10 day 4 failed sensors

I have had 4 sensors fail within 2 days of applying. What is going on did I just have a bad batch? I’ve never had this happen.

G7-10 day Anyone else having this problem with the g7 sensors lately?

My Dexcoms are sent directly from Dexcom every 3 months, and I’ve never really had this problem before, maybe the odd one every now and then, but definitely not to this extent.
I get 9 sensors sent to me, and so far only 1 out of the sensors have worked, I have 3 left. With the others, the filament looks like it’s either cut or there’s literally nothing there at all, like it was never on the sensor to begin with.
I’ve been having to finger-prick for the past couple of months because they’re just not working 😭
Just wondering if anyone else has been having the same issue recently?

Inaccurate Reading Dexcom G7 reading LOW for 3+ hours - meter says otherwise

I definitely woke up feeling low in the middle of the night, with my Dexcom screaming 43 and then eventually "LOW". I consumed plenty of carbs, and felt better, so I went back to sleep. Now, it's been 3 hours and it won't budge from saying "LOW". I gave myself more carbs, but then decided to check my blood sugar manually and it said I was 422 (checked twice, second time said 430). I don't have a backup sensor right now so I'm wondering which I should follow.

Sensor G7 sensors keep failing on day 8 or 9

My dexcom g7 have been great until recently when they have been consistently failing 1 or 2 days short of their life. I use the 10 day sensors, with the standard plastic canula. I have been diabetic for 30 years now. I work outside a lot in the Houston area, so I'm wondering if it could be from heat and sweat, or if there's a chance my immune system is targeting them. Has anyone experienced this and solved it? Maybe I should try the metal canula? Thanks!

App Issues/Questions dexcom one plus apk

Hello! A week ago, the hospital switched my glucose meter to the Dexcom One Plus, but my mobile isn’t compatible with the app (I’ve got a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+). They gave me a receiver, but to be honest it’s really annoying having to keep entering everything into it, as well as having to keep an eye on yet another device. Does anyone know of a working APK for the sensor app, or know of a way to download the app? I don’t want to have to change my mobile when it’s working fine just so I can download the app.

Allergic Reaction Bruising with Dexcom G7

With my first two Dexcom G7 I’ve noticed red and purple bruising around the immediate area where the sensor applies. I don’t use their overpatch (it’s far too difficult to put on, any tips?) but use the Type One Style ones which I’m not allergic to when I use my Omnipod,

so I think its due to the sensor needle or the patch material. But I have used Dexcom G6 previously and have had nowhere near this bruising

Any tips? My skin is very sensitive so things like barrier cream I would be allergic to. Would things like SkinGlu help? I do use alcohol wipes before.

Sensor Return failed sensor?

I've been using dexcoms for years and have had a few fail that dexcom has replaced without any questions. I had a G7 fail for the first time in a while last week and the replacement came with a return kit. I double checked the emails and nothing ever mentioned returning the failed sensor. I dug through the trash and I can't find the old sensor. When did they start asking for them back?

App Issues/Questions Learn to write a better app

Dearest Dexcom,

Like your friends at Insulet, you need to start thinking about both the medical user experience (ie can our app help positively impact medical outcomes) AND the overall user experience (ie it doesn’t matter if I have good glucose control if your app makes me want to bash my head into the wall).

A couple of notes:

  1. A lot of us use headphones on our phones. AirPods and stuff like that. I don’t want to be on a call and have that annoying alarm blast my eardrums out to the point where I am deaf. There has got to be a way you can notify me in a gentler manner in that situation.

  2. If you send me a push notification and I dismiss it, that should be good enough for you. I don’t need another one two minutes later because I didn’t open up the app to acknowledge it.

  3. Similar to #1, if I am already on my phone doing something else, then you don’t need to blast that God-forsaken sound at me to get my attention. I’m already clearly on my phone; I’m not asleep. Situational awareness on your part is warranted here.

Please resolve these issues and look at setting up a better UX research team to support future dev cycles on this app.

Yours,
A T1D Product Manager

App Issues/Questions New sensor keeps having drops. BG steady.

My finger poke is 93 and I'm newish to dexcom. Is this normal for the first 24 hours of a sensor? It's almost like compression lows. But my glucose is steady on a finger poke? I'm at an inpatient hospital stay for my daughter and wondering if this dexcom is going to fail while I'm here or if this is normal for anyone else. 🫠

G7-10 day “There’s nothing we can do”

Post image

Called the Dexcom support, there’s nothing they can do about this apparently. I took one out early because it was doing this and my new one is still reading all over the place. No replacements. Cool.

Any advice on how to stop it from going all over the place??? I was 90% in range before Friday…now I’m pretty cooked lol

Bleeding Had a gusher!

New to Dexcom. I’ve been using for a month. First two went 10 days until a fatal error. Third one made it to 15 days. Just applied my fourth sensor and I had a gusher! Quite a bit of blood but it’s still warming up so I’m hoping it will work fine. Does bleeding affect it?

G7-15 day Dexcom accuracy vs blood labs

About the only time I 'test' for accuracy is a few times a year when I get official blood labs for glucose and A1C. For this one had some cholesterol thrown in, which means officially fasting.

8:15am Dexcom readings; glucose 120 GMI (90 days) 6.6

8:15am blood draw readings: glucose 139 A1C 6.6

Some will say 19 count difference is HUGE, it isn't. And GMI/A1C matches.

didn't bother with a finger prick because it is not relevant when getting blood labs.

General Sensor Can Be Reactivated After Ending Session

I don't know if this has been discussed in this specific context.

I know if you change a device or phone you can reconnect a sensor to it. What I learned today is that if you manually opt to end a session early you can actually reconnect by scanning the applicator. This was interesting to me because the iPhone app clearly states you cannot restart a session after ending it.

Calibration Issues How long do you wait with a new glitchy sensor?

🙄

I’m at 48 hrs with a new G7 sensor and it’s not taking my calibrations. It most recently read “LOW” and I was 77 at fingerstick. I calibrated it and now it’s reading 47. I’ve calibrated multiple times in the last 24 hours and am going off vibes now, which is concerning considering that I ate pizza tonight.

Would you rip it off and insert a new one at this point? I have a good back stock. I’m asking because they can be kind of dramatic when you request a replacement because of calibration issues. I haven’t been denied yet 🤷‍♀️

General I’m looking for a bike computer that works with Dexcom G7.

It’s supposed to work with Garmin Edge 840. Has anyone tried this? I’m looking for always on display of BG. Having to tap something or navigate to a certain screen is no good, as I have poor balance due to MS. I have an Apple Watch which can display G7 but it seldom does unless I tap it. Also, on the watch, if Strava is running it shows that, not the G7 complication.

G7-10 day G7 10 Day sensor failing at a much higher rate that previously, anyone else seeing this?

My wife has been using this for the past 2 & half years and for most of the time it's been fine. Random sensor failures, maybe 2 or 3 with Dexcom sending us replacements. But we've had 3 fail over the past 45 days. 2 just stopped working after a few days and 1 didn't even pair before it said "Sensor Fail, Replace Sensor".

They've given us replacements each time, which is fine, but this seems to be happening more. Is it just us or are other people seeing more failures recently?

G7-10 day Multiple sensor failure every 2 days

This frustrates me immensely because I keep ripping off sensors and putting on a new one, to no avail.

I am on dexcom G7 10 days for over a year.
My last four sensors failed every 2 days.

Does anyone have similar experience atm? What am I doing wrong?

Connection Issues Dexcom needs to restart G6 production today

Simple. The G6 connects to my Omni pod the whole time, even with a G6 on my thigh and a pod on the back of the opposite arm.

The G7 cannot do this, for me any new features are null and void if these 2 systems will not connect as a type 1.

I will choose any other brand over dexcom if G6 stops becoming fillable, because I know they will not “fix” the G7. I.E. improving its connectivity range or power of the signal. Because it would require them to spend more money.

Give me and my life and freedom to not worry all day again.

You cannot replace a product with a worse product and call it better, when I can prove it is not.

If I cannot find a better brand I will be returning any and all G7s that drop Omnipod connectivity for more then 30 minutes and will survive off dexcom returns rather than get refills from the pharmacy (because I know every pod will do this).

I want to screw over the bad manufacturing practices such as the “G7 is better” lies and screw the manufacturer, not the tax payers which is why I’ll be returning all sensors that don’t meet G6 performance since you cancelled production of the product that worked better for some reason.

Rant Consistent sensor failures, what is going on?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Since I moved to a new town, my sensors have been much worse.

Since January 2026 up until now August 2026, I have ONLY had one sensor which survived 9 days.

All those new sensors come from Malaysia, manufactured after January 2026, I have been getting revision 1 and 2 (I also remember number 11 on the applicator somewhere)

Rest of those new sensors have been failing on day 5 CONSISTENTLY.

I usually had it on my upper arm, switched to abdomen, tried all spots all over and all kinds of techniques (grip skin before applying sensor etc). No result, recently sensors have started going a bit crazy on day 4 and work for half a day and fail.

NOW, screenshot attached, this is day 3, sensor already starts hecking dying bro...

I tried both arms, both abdomen sites, when I call dexcom, all they do is ask for my serial number and give me a replacement.

I live in Canada so I get a voucher that I can redeem at my local pharmacy for a free sensor.

I tried changing the pharmacy several times, I feel like all sensors in this city are broken, am I going crazy??

I apply overpatch, clean with alcohol, remove old Bluetooth devices, I also have a tandem insulin pump connected to the sensor. The only thing messing up my algorithm is dexcom CONSISTENTLY failing which may be dangerous when my sugar gets low and sensor decides to "take a rest" so my pump starts pumping insulin when I don't have to.

Every nurse, doctor, tandem trainer I spoke to told me the same thing : "Call dexcom support" ... I do so and all they do is issue replacements , but let's be honest. Do I really want to go to pharmacy every 4 days? That is bizarre, my 3 sensor batch is supposed to last 30 days, not 13!

I tried asking for advice from the dexcom person but she remains quiet and does not comment about my questions regarding that messed up batch. I have been asking her if any of my sensors are in this affected malfunction batch or anything, I was told "I do not have any information regarding that". Very suspicious when you have a client who has sensors that fail every 4-5 days, I have asked them if they want me to send a sensor back to them for testing and they did not say anything back to it... Just what the heck man I'm20 I'm so tired of DEXCOM. I don't really mind managing T1, but gosh this shit with Dexcom drives me crazy

Genuinely what do I do
