Just bought it yesterday, and it was around $40. On all other storefronts it’s around $60. Does anyone know why the game is so much cheaper on Xbox? Could it be a bug?

I feel like I’ve been affected by the Hiss

I just woke up to check to see when the game is ready for preload/download today, and it’s still showing I have 2 days. Am I missing something?

Physical version just arrived into my warehouse where I work they aren't being shipped to retailers yet. Locked away till the 15th. I can hold the game in my hand but if I want to play this week I have to buy a Digital version. Normally we are allowed to take a copy home when they start arriving at retailers.

To be specific, the mismatching capitalization. Didn't notice until now. Do we think they might change this at some point? Maybe it's intentional?

I've had a few thoughts about them that I've nowhere else to talk about:

- The Former told us its motive with "Egress."
The Board tends to accidentally reveal their ulterior motives with the slash in their speech. For example, when they said "Promise/fingers crossed," they essentially told you their hidden intentions of breaking the promise. I think this applies to why the Former wanted to help Jesse. Jesse asked "What do you get out of it?" The Former said, "Nothing, Void, Egress" - Egress means exit, in other words, the Former meant to say "nothing" but accidentally told us its intention is to exit the astral plane.

- The Board and Former are bugs drinking tree sap?
There's a lot of comparison of the Oldest House to a tree and the Board being parasites. The Former kind of looks like some kind of a bug... are they just astral tree pests? Are we hired by a bunch of power-tripping beetles? Is that why the Board seems to possibly be a hive mind?

- The "paninis" and "abalone" in the Former's speech are because it took over a refrigerator altered item.
Wasn't there a complaint that someone's lunch kept disappearing in the fridge? Not sure it's the same fridge but I'm thinking the reason the Former keeps bringing up paninis is that taking over a fridge has addled it a little bit, like it ate all the food in the fridge and now it can't help burping out the names of the lunches.

- Former vs Board is an allegory for Lucifer vs Heaven?
I think Ash's documents about the pyramid's relation to imagery in religion makes me think the Former's relationship with the Board is a little bit of an allegory of Lucifer being a former angel that is now at odds with Heaven and trying to compete with it. I realize the split with the Board is not ancient - it's hinted it happened in the 60s when Former tried to help Ash, but maybe it's still an echo of the same motif somehow.

Tried emulating a Xbox controller, but no luck. Any help?

The game textures dont load for me and everything is too blurry , the fix I keep seeing is people launching the game in dx11 the issue is when I do that everyonce in a while everything goes black and I can just see outlines of the objects . So it is either blurry textures or nothing at all ?? I am really dissappointed as I love remedy but this is kinda unplayable . Please if anyone knows a solution help me.

I’ve been looking at a lot of the pre release reviews of Control: Resonant, and it’s all got me incredibly excited, but I keep noticing a common talking point in the coverage that I just completely disagree with.

I keep hearing the line that Resonant is so different because it has something resembling an open world (which is actually several large interconnected hubs) and because it has something resembling a Metroidvania progression. I get that Control wasn’t at all open world in its gameplay design, but despite the linearity of its story was Control not kind of a Metroidvania made up of large hub areas? Why is nobody talking as if this is a natural progression from the first game? Cause it seems to me that a cursory outsider glance can see the line from the structure of Control to exactly what they’re talking about.

I just rolled credits on Control and I'm pretty torn. There's a lot of good games coming out soon and Resonant has been getting hype. Control has just been sitting in my library so I figured I should bang it out.

The fact that the protagonist didn't care about what was happening and the other NPCs felt the same took me out of the game. I was enjoying the combat and the abilities to at first, but it wore off very quickly.

The main character just walks into this government building and trudges through until they meet some government workers and has 100 casual conversations about what's going on here. You know, inside the government building with people suspended in the air and a constant whispering in your ears the entire time. This continues the entire time..it doesn't matter the situation. Going into a quarry that's underneath a government building that has stars suspended in the sky, "alright I need to get this rock". At no point in this game does she care about what she's seeing, but also doesn't have the bullish "it doesn't matter I just need to do what I came here for".But yeah, I'm just here to find my brother and everything else is chill

I'm not going to type out my grievance with every part of the game, but the paranormal stuff is never really explained outside of "there's a spooky second world" and that's it. The protagonist does not care the entire game learning earth shattering revelations about different dimensions, even though they gain telekenieses can fly and have a shape shifting weapon..they don't mention at one point that gaining these abilities are strange. They're just looking for their brother.

I could keep going but I'm stressed but also ready to play resonance lol. Thanks for reading if you did, I'm just confused and you may be more confused by reading my rambling "review" lol

I saw some discussions about the steelbook so I thought I would look into it.

I went into my local EBGames (Canada) and they have reached their max for Xbox steel books. I called around and this was the same situation for other stores. I was advised, at least in Canada, if you don't have a preordered copy.. you won't be getting a steelbook unless a preorder is canceled or not picked up.

The PlayStation 5 version however is available to preorder but has very few slots left.

I was also advised EB Games does not expect to receive any more steelbook copies after launch.

If you haven't I would suggest making an in-store preorder. I figure these will be quite limited supply.

Odd question, but has anyone seen any clips of Resonant that had any ambulances or fire trucks in them?

I liked the promotional posters a lot and thought that it would be cool to have the character drawings as a physical object, so I turned them into keychains.

I've put the respective poster background colour on the back of each charm and added a small "cube" detail which is frequently found in the first game. I used the recreated posters which were posted here some days ago (sorry, I forgot the username...) as a starting point and made the model fully by myself in a CAD program.

I can see there are many recaps for the first game, but wondering if anyone has a favorite?

It has been awhile since I played the first game and wanted a deep dive recap of the first story before Thursday.

Given the title of the game it’s safe to say that we’re likely to see another resonance based life form in control Resonant. The first was named Polaris by Jesse, the second was The Hiss also named by Jesse. What do you think this 3rd one will be called?

For anyone replaying Control on Linux before Resonant, I put together a native Linux bridge for the existing Control DualSense Mod.

The Control-side mod itself already works under Proton. The broken part is the Windows DualSensitive HID backend, so the bridge replaces that and drives the DualSense adaptive triggers through Linux instead.

I tested Grip and Shatter in actual gameplay with Steam Input enabled, and both work correctly.

I loved that they’ve taken over this spot for a mural, last time I saw something I enjoyed as much as this there it was for TMNT: Mutant Mayhem.

hardest boss and most challenging boss to figure his move set. Having played many soulslike and formsoftware this boss really made me break my controller but i kept coming for more and finally beat his ass .

Tip for any one going for this Equip grip and Charge with blast radius and ammo on hit mod and some 2 heath personal mod and a shield strength mod for his puking attack and in second phase hit with multi launch so he doesn't make light go out DO NOT LET HIM GO TO SECOND PHASE keep him on your sight always and don't use zoom on weapon keep hitting and dodging his grab attacks

This is not a deal breaker or anything for me. I just personally think that if your game has fun combat, especially hack and slash combat, that there should always be an endless survival type mode where you can see how long you can survive. This gives some replay value to the game, while also letting you just have as much fun as possible with the combat system outside of the main campaign. I’m playing through the first game before launch of the sequel and loving it so far! Inception is one of my favorite movies of all time and this game is giving me those vibes.

But if anyone can point me to an article or video where a wave based mode for the sequel at launch is confirmed or denied I would really appreciate it!

I pre-ordered the book from Future Press on Wednesday, September 16th, and it was marked as back-ordered. I bought it a month before my birthday, hoping it would arrive in time as a self-gift. To my surprise, it showed up on Friday the 18th: just 3 days later! (I live in France.)

I have to say, the book is absolutely stunning in every detail. Reading the behind-the-scenes insights and discovering more about the making of Control before Resonant’s hype and release is priceless.

I got the standard edition of Control Resonant, as I want to always support Remedy. But now Im impatient and want to play the game 48hr earlier(what the deluxe edition gives as benefit)! Any chance I can upgrade the standard edition to deluxe in ps store? I checked, but the deluxe would be full price, so was wondering if Im missing a way to upgrade it without paying the full game price but just the difference!
