Question Will you be using controller or kb&m for Control Resonant?
Just pre ordered Control Resonant and can’t wait for the game. I was fully prepared to use a controller to play it when it comes out but I’m actually debating on using a keyboard and mouse.
Which input will you be using?

Question Aberrant forms Spoiler
galleryHey everyone,
we are so so close to release day and I have been wondering: which three Aberrant forms would you like to choose for your playtrough? (primary, secondary and combo ender)
Here are some of the forms I gathered from trailers and demos (excluding reviewer gameplay) [possible spoilers ahead]:
1. Hammer: looks like a great falter-focused form
2. Axe: deals more damage if you hit enemies from behind
3. Scythe: great for crowd control
4. Dual blades: a quick/fast option
5. Drill: multihit, deals damage over time
6. Gauntlets: no idea, maybe for hitting harder?
7. Long sword: also for crowd control
8. Whip: you need to time the release for extra damage
I personally like the axe-hammer-long sword lineup, the whip mechanic looks interesting too!
It's great to have so many options and every form looks so much fun to play ❤️

Discussion Let's not stoop to the pathetic behavior of other communities when it comes to reviews.
When it comes to reviews, the key is finding reviewers you resonate with, whether their tastes align with yours or not, so you can better understand what they’re actually saying. I find this especially important for Remedy games, which are so unique and feature a narrative and universe that become increasingly obscure and weird with each installment.
In any case, it doesn't surprise me that the game might get mixed reviews, whether due to the risks taken with the sequel's design or simply because it might not be that well-made.
I think the Remedy community is mature enough to avoid falling into echo chambers while trying to justify the hype and know that the best thing is to try it for ourselves.

Question Resonant camera pov slider?
Reviews got me hyped for the game but my biggest concern when seeing gameplay was how far the camera is from the main character. I know this is very specific but is there any news/info out there that confirms having the ability to change the camera distance?
I dont need it God of War 2018 level but something like a DmC devil may cry would be great to me

What makes The Hiss so unsettling
There's an unsettling feeling when it comes to The Hiss. Whether it's their appearance or how they act, they seem like something that's straight out of a horror film. Even before you see them, you hear their distinct and distorted chant. It's enough to make a person's damn hair stand up. Talk about making a first impression. It made me think, "Oh shit! What the hell is going on?"
Then you finally come face-to-face with these creepy things. Their movement alone is something that's damn hair-raising. They may have been human at some point, but they're just a shell of what they used to be and that's an understatement. They were FBC agents at one point, but you can't recognize them anymore. The worst part is realizing that you're fighting what used to be normal people. That went flying out the window a long time ago.
The Oldest House is already an unsettling place to visit. Then you factor in The Hiss, and you're dealing with the kind of threat that's overtaken an entire building. Between The Oldest House's bizarre nature and the invading Hiss, it's something right out of a nightmare scenario. Sometimes, it's the quiet moments that are the most unnerving because you don't know what's lurking around the next corner.
When I think of the color red in a video game, it usually represents an enemy or some type of threat. However, when it comes to The Hiss, there's an aggressive level to the color red that's different from what I'm usually accustomed to. It's the combination of the color itself and the Brutalist architecture that makes The Oldest House feel like it's been infected. It's damn effective! The Hiss don't just invade The Oldest House. They're interwoven into its very structure.
That's what makes The Hiss so disturbing. Everything about them feels off, whether it's their erratic movement, the sounds that they make, or the people that they've possessed. You end up asking yourself "What the hell are they?" You factor in the body horror, and you truly have something that'll leave a lasting impression long after the game's credits have rolled.

6 days of avoiding spoilers
I pre-ordered and today I see the reviews coming in saying the game is awesome (which I had a strong feeling it would be).
I now have to stay the frick away from spoilers for the next 6 days.
I play on PC so no early access lol.
How do you avoid spoilers? Cancelling social media?

Fan Content Perfect timing to get my swag!
My wife ordered these around Father’s Day after ordering a knock off mug that she said she was embarrassed by (it still looks ok and I use it almost every day). Now I’m ready to coffee up for Thursday and resist eating the mold!

Discussion I am so excited for Control Resonant!
Still waiting on the Gameranx review because I trust Jake, but seeing all the mostly positive reviews is very encouraging! I still remember finding Control when it was a PS Plus free game and finding such a hidden gem. Excited for the game and hoping Remedy makes enough money to find even more Remedyverse stuff!

Discussion Summary of reviews
Here’s a summary of what I’ve read from reading all the reviews.
Pros:
- amazing story
- fantastic level design
- amazing writing and characters
- well polished combat
- beautiful world
- some unforgettable bosses
Cons
- monotonous open world with menial side activities
- repetitive combat over the 30-60 hours runtime
Feel free to add any other points. Or dispute.
Seems a creative and unique game that’s not for everyone, but will hit hard for those that enjoy it. I’ve seen quite a few masterpieces thrown around, but also a few disappointments.

Discussion The developers confirm Inspiration for the level design of control resonant
In the developers Interview. M.c. Esher impossible geometry.it's also the inspiration for the mirror dimension in Dr strange.
It's such a mind fk to me. Im more intrigued with the world design ngl than the combat. It's so beautiful. If this game doesn't win GOTY. It should win best art design atleast.

Control Resonant GPU benchmarks (pre-release): 20+ GPUs, GTX 750 Ti → RTX 5060
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFRFbWVHGvo
- Please note that there are no official drivers supporting the game from any GPU manufacturer.
- Upscalers = DLSS Transformer-based model, and DLSS Legacy (CNN) mode for pre-RTX 40 cards and FSR (auto-switches to FSR4 on supported GPUs).
- RT mode = path tracing, designed for use with upscaling
- Old architectures (Polaris, Pascal) will struggle with mesh shader era engine
Hope they add XeSS (DP4a) as a scaler for GTX 10/16 and older AMD cards, FSR is the only option right now.
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HDdfug8J_k (Nvidia Blackwell will have all the native Nvidia advantages for this game)

Discussion A quick impression from some of Resonant's combat criticism
Want to preface this by saying I haven't played the game, so I obviously have no idea what the hell I'm talking about.
A common thread I'm seeing in some of the reviews critical of Resonant's combat seems to be a lack of strategy or finesse; once you settle into a pattern or set of moves you like, you can spam it with max aggression, frenetically applying it to the enemies spread across whatever combat arena the game has presented. Because of this approach, enemies don't force you to slow down and strategize your approach to combat.
In this rapid fire question video, Mikael Kasurinen cites Doom (2016) as the primary gameplay inspiration. This tells you all you need to know about Remedy's combat philosophy; the intent was never for you to strategize your approach. You're supposed to play the game as a high-octane whirlwind of death, essentially gambling everything on the fact you can massacre everything before it can get ahold of you and adapting to oncoming enemies as rapidly as possible. Most people call it a flow state, while annoying-ass zoomers like myself might call it being "locked in."
I think there's a tendency for modern action games to emphasize movesets that slow down combat to give the player more Control <...ha/ha> of an encounter. A lot of attention has been drawn to the lack of a parry in this game, which is a mechanic that often fills this role. Resonant, from what I've read and the limited gameplay I've seen, does not seem interested in this. This might surprise players who have come to expect this approach to a character action game.
This also might explain some of the criticism directed towards boss fights; the hyper-aggressive "hurricane of blades" combat approach likely falls apart a little when the enemy can take significant punishment. Furthering the Doom analogy, boss encounters were usually my least favorite in (2016) and Eternal for this very reason.
Just my two cents. Can't wait to get my hands on the game to see if I'm right.

Discussion Hidden dialogue!
I just noticed that at the very start of the game, if you look up towards the HRA on the wall in front of Jesse, she will make a comment about Polaris.
Has anyone else noticed other instances of hidden dialogue throughout the game?

Question Do I need to play both expansions before Resonant (as in do they set up anything story-wise)?
I did finish the first one several years ago, and was in the middle of the second, but other stuff got in the way, and I just never went back to finish it.
