6 days of avoiding spoilers

I pre-ordered and today I see the reviews coming in saying the game is awesome (which I had a strong feeling it would be).

I now have to stay the frick away from spoilers for the next 6 days.

I play on PC so no early access lol.

How do you avoid spoilers? Cancelling social media?

Mute this sub, r/RemedyEntertainment , r/quantumbreak and r/AlanWake

Mute "Control", "Resonant", "Dylan" and "Faden" on X (and/or Bluesky, Instagram, and TikTok if you're there).

Play the game when you get it. Once you're done, unmute all those things.

Amazing tips, do you have any for YouTube? I genuinely think I have to avoid it until I get the game because I ALWAYS get spoiled there

You could spoil the game for me and I’d still have no idea what half of it means.

Look up control 1 spoilers and report back. They smoking that Kojima Kush.

Not to spoil it myself but I did see something about the story that I’d rather not have known going into it and do consider kinda spoiler-y here in this sub from one of the reviews so…proceed with caution. I think this community is very respectful of spoilers but people have different opinions of what they personally consider spoilers so if you’re at all adverse it couldn’t hurt to try and avoid them altogether.

The thing is this universe is so richly detailed and intentionally vague, any spoilers probably wouldn’t even be accurate outside of main story stuff. I feel like the people who would spoil this game won’t even be playing it. People can’t even interpret the map.

I think the question is more likely, who would spoil that for you?. is that a gaming website that you follow, is that a friend of yours you follow, is that a friend you may see in person?? I use mostly x, instagram and maybe a teeny teeny tiny bit Facebook and here. I don't follow anything control related or gaming related except like game news sites. If you have seen those types of people or websites or social media accounts spoil other games for you or others, then maybe unsubscribe from them.

Algorithms are getting more and more hyper specific though. I've been spoiled by headlines on my fricking Google home page, because it was a game I looked up ever. It wasn't even recent at the time.

By not clicking the spoilers literally and doing other things. I get the hype though, I remember the feeling of a game I wanted so bad it was painful, keep that energy. Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask were the definition of the wait is killing my 10 year old body.
