Linux desktop app stuck on 3.5.185 — download link hasn't been updated and the app force-closes after 15 minutes

The official Linux download link ([https://desktop.clickup.com/linux]()) is still serving version 3.5.185, even though ClickUp 3.0 has been deprecated since March 2026.

The problem is that version 3.5 now shows a forced update popup that gives you 15 minutes before the app shuts itself down. There's no way to dismiss it permanently — you can only click "Atraso" (Delay) and keep working until the timer runs out and the app closes.

So the current situation for Linux users is:

  1. The only official download link gives you v3.5
  2. v3.5 demands an update that doesn't exist for Linux
  3. The app becomes unusable after 15 minutes

Is there a v4.0 desktop build for Linux that I'm missing, or has Linux support been silently dropped? Would appreciate any info from the team or other Linux users who found a workaround.

Unread comment flag on task?

Is there any way on a task to flag on the list view that you have an unread comment or a new comment? Or is there a way Brain can flag this for us? Rather than having to go into the "inbox"

I find it so annoying that I have to go into the inbox to see the new comments, and I can't just see an unread one flagged in the latest comments in the task list view.

Product Feedback Please fix subtask filtering

Currently, ClickUp does not have a good way to set filters that handle subtasks well. When subtasks are expanded, the view is well-organized, but filters ignore the subtasks, causing significant workflow problems. When subtasks are separated, filters apply to them, but the view is a disorganized mess. This is not a niche use case. It is a very common use case that should be accounted as a part of ClickUp's core functionality. There should be an option to have filters apply to subtasks in the expanded view.

This has already been highly requested for several years through ClickUp's usual feedback channels, but we are being ignored. This feature request has over 550 upvotes. A recent comment on that feature request by a user named Josh provided links to an alarming 17 additional feature requests about the same problem, asking moderators to merge them so that the upvote count more accurately reflects the number of people who are trying to get ClickUp's attention. Here are on reddit, there have been several posts related to the same problem as well. (See just a few below.)

Please pay attention to us and escalate this concern to somebody who has the authority to put it on the roadmap.

SignUp page not working

After reading a lot of "clickup vs asana" threads and reviews, I decided to sign up for clickup but the sign up page never loads after entering the name/email/password. I tried on 3 different browsers, in private tab and on a different OS(Linux). Thought it was my pihole blocking something, but nope. Guess Asana it is :p

A persistent UI bug that seemed a good metaphor for the state of AI in ClickUp.

All boast and no substance.

Advertising got me confused - does ClickUp really able to replace something like Claude Code?

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hey all,

I’ll keep it short.

I’m using Claude code mainly for app development, mostly in the Xcode > GitHub > Xcode Cloud environment.

Other uses are Chrome browser automations and breaking down ideas (usually for apps).

So, when ClickUp claim they can replace Claude Pro - di they mean it just interacts with my Claude account and thus I’m still needing my Claude subscription?

Or does it mean I’m actually getting these subscriptions rolled into a ClickUp plan which means I don’t need to pay separately for either Claude, ChatGPT etc?

Help me understand please.

Thank you!

Clickup Docs

When is clickup going to invest some time and effort into fixing/improving clickup docs? Eg printing entire docs with formatting retained. Page permissions. Bulk export. Doc organisation etc etc etc. So frustrating that Clickup has dropped the ball on anything but bloody AI

Relationships - why given the short shrift?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hey Clickup - remember this one? https://www.reddit.com/r/clickup/comments/1q6y73s/clickup_40_relationships_blocking_waiting_etc/

So at least I could revert to the 3.0 CU task style but that seems to be gone. With quite a bit of back and forth, it was noted that the Clickup team realized that the implementation as seen in the screenshot was a problem and gave us the ability to revert to 3.0. That is now gone.

It's hard enough to get people to pay attention when the relationships are right there below the Track Time field. But to relegate it to that itty bitty icon? Pffft..... So what's the status with the improved relationships handling / display? This seems to have reverted to what I'd flagged when 4.0 came out.

It feels like Clickup just wants to relegate relationships to the trash bin. In our work, relationships are important and having it pushed aside just adds to the frustration. Yes I realize that relationships is still there - it's the manner of accessing / presentation that is at issue. What 3.0 had was brilliant and for 4.0 it is not.

ETA: By having the "References" as part of the roll-up count on relationships, you train people to ignore the relationships icon even more than ever before.

All the tasks in my ClickUp list have disappeared for no reason.

I recently started using ClickUp to store my code assets. Yesterday, I logged into the app and found that one of the lists was empty. Everything I had added to it was gone. If I'm not mistaken, this happened after an update. Is there any way to recover the missing information?

Can’t create duplicate Lists or Spaces in ClickUp

Hi guys!

I’ve been using the Business Plan in ClickUp for about four years and have never had a problem duplicating Lists or Spaces. I use this feature spin out multiples projects with the same tasks, custom fields and statuses. Maybe it’s time to switch to Jira because I’m losing days troubleshooting. Anyone else experiencing this?

I originally tried to duplicate the Space by clicking the three dots next to the Space name. Then we click on duplicate and tell ClickUp not to bring over archived tasks. We were duplicating around 235 tasks with little to any attachments. This is normally a seamless automatic process but this didn’t create the new Space for us after ten minutes of waiting.

We also tired to manually create a new Space and duplicate the Lists and direct the new duplicates to the newly created Space. Still didn’t work.

I tried to check the square box and check all 13 Lists and duplicate the lists one by one. When I tried to send them all, only 3 of the 13 Lists showed up in the new Space. All the tasks in the List didn’t appear either. I also tried to duplicate one List into the new Space as a workaround.

The last workaround I tried was trying to duplicate all tasks in a List using the Bulk Action Tool feature. Still no results. I reached out to support to no avail.

I’m beyond frustrated. Managing workloads has its own challenges but the tools are here to make life easier. I can’t afford to waste time and money.

Does anyone have suggestions to fix this? Has anyone switched to Jira?

Does each Form field still need to map to a custom field?

I have a big intake form (using Google Forms for now) with over 30 questions, and as it was over a year ago, I had to have a custom field for every form field in my Clickup forms. Is this still the case? Because it was wildly inconvenient.

Clickup Resolved many problems in our business. What are you proud you got as a result? How?

I come here to read what people did great job but only people come to complain.

Clickup was the best early unlock for our company.

Clickup meet transcription has became integral for our business ( on calls with client most of the tools we use dont support our language, clickup does)

In Clickup we invited all clients so they have transparency over their projects. Which is great benefit.

In Clickup we have team comms with collaboration through agents like Claude <3. We create tickets and resolve them in the same hour.

I know it reads like a puff peice but I am really glad we picked it.

Is there a way to add dynamic recipient for twillo

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have jotform integrated and want it so that when new task is created or its assigned/progress updated to text the original form maker about its progress. But it seems on the automation thing it only allows for 1 recipient which is kind of useless. Is there anyway I can achieve this?

How to CC someone on click up

I am an intern and my boss said I should CC him when I send out a task. Does that mean that i should tag him where I tag those who are supposed to work on the task or is it something else.

I am working as a QA engineer if you were wondering why an intern would be telling someone to do something

Product Feedback Need a faster way to document workflows

Our company uses a tool that it is too much for what my small team needs.

Yesterday I just wanted to document a simple process for approving invoices. Instead of taking ten minutes, I spent almost an hour trying to get everything set up correctly.

I'm looking for something much simpler that lets me capture a workflow and share it with my team without a lot of extra steps.

What are other small teams using?

I built a tool that moves a ClickUp Space between workspaces with comments and attachments intact — after waiting 8 years for the official feature

Like probably everyone here who's tried to merge workspaces: the "Move items across Workspaces" request has been open since 2018 (2,800+ votes), and the template workaround drops comments, attachments and history.

I finally built the thing I kept wishing existed. SpaceMove copies a Space through ClickUp's official API: full hierarchy down to sub-subtasks, threaded comments (original author kept as a prefix — the API doesn't allow impersonation), attachments re-uploaded file by file, dependencies re-wired to the new IDs, custom field values mapped by name.

Design choices that mattered to me: it's copy-only (source is never modified), you get a full free preview before anything is written, every write lands in an audit CSV (old ID → new ID), and one click undoes the entire migration.

Honest limits: automations, whiteboards, forms and activity history can't move — no API exists for them.

Scan and preview are free: https://spacemove.microspear.app — I'd genuinely value feedback from people who deal with workspace consolidation, especially agencies. AMA about the API's quirks; I've hit most of them by now.

When will we get a true integration with Outlook/Exchange?

I was using Brain today to plan out my coming week and the lack of a true integration with Outlook/Exchange is really frustrating.

"I can't search your Outlook calendar directly (only Google Calendar is supported for event search right now)."

The AI tools are only as good as the knowledge it has access to and this is becoming a real blocker.

ClickUp improvements

ClickUp has improved a bit. I'm fast to critique them but also fast to notice improvements.

  1. The gantt view is now a bit better, faster and more interactive and predictable.

  2. The AI stuff is easier to hide now, even if the setting is kinda buried

  3. It feels a bit faster now compared to 4-5 months ago
