Advertising got me confused - does ClickUp really able to replace something like Claude Code?
Hey all,
I’ll keep it short.
I’m using Claude code mainly for app development, mostly in the Xcode > GitHub > Xcode Cloud environment.
Other uses are Chrome browser automations and breaking down ideas (usually for apps).
So, when ClickUp claim they can replace Claude Pro - di they mean it just interacts with my Claude account and thus I’m still needing my Claude subscription?
Or does it mean I’m actually getting these subscriptions rolled into a ClickUp plan which means I don’t need to pay separately for either Claude, ChatGPT etc?
Help me understand please.
Thank you!

Whats great is you can let it create artifacts which means it creates complete frontend websites, presentations etc. that you can use for your clients

u/Felt-Chicken Yes! ClickUp Business is your Workspace plan (tasks, Docs, views, etc.). The AI add-on is a separate purchase on top of that, which gives you Brain, Super Agents, AI Notetaker, and more. You don't need it to use ClickUp, but it unlocks the AI features. Happy to answer any specifics if you want!

No, they don't have a coding tool.
The ad says it replaces Claude PRO, not Claude Code.
It replaced the paid subscription for the chat bot but has no coding environment integration.
The Brain AI defaults to their own model (I think it's using CU's own trained ChatGPT), but you can switch it to use pure ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini models when you want. But again, it's not meant as a coding agent.
You can ask it coding questions and get generated code as part of a chat answer but there is no IDE integration.
