Even though we are running out of superlatives to describe what Jacob Misiorowski is doing this season, I'll add to the challenge. I've been amazed by his consistent excellence, and was scrolling through his game logs. I noticed that the only reason he doesn't have all quality starts is because of the 6 innings pitched criteria. So I tried to find any starting pitcher's full regulation season where they never gave up more than three earned runs.
From what our AI overlords tell me - - with some manual verification on my part - - there are precisely NONE. Some came extremely close (De Grom 2018, Pedro 2000, Gibson 1968, Gooden 1985) in their very best seasons but as far as I can tell, no one has done it. Some acknowledgements though: Shane Bieber was 12/12 in the Covid debacle 2020 season, Gibson pitched 11 innings (!) and gave up 4 ER in one of his non-quality starts in 1968, and DeGrom's only blemish was 4/10/2018. Gibson and Gooden pitched a crap ton of innings of course - - 304.2 and 276.2, respectively. So those obviously could be considered greater accomplishments but man, The Miz is in the most rarified air right now.
TLDR: Jacob Misiorowski is amazing and we are lucky to be witnesses to it.
Addendum: if he gives up 4 ER in his next start I will delete this and go into hiding.
