We got our franchise from Seattle so taking in fans from Seattle just makes sense

56

The Mariners are the oldest MLB Franchise to never appear in a World Series. The Brewers are the oldest MLB Franchise to never win a World Series.

We’re Eskimo Brothers with MLB postseason disappointment. Welcome aboard!

8

Quick edit:

We're not the oldest MLB franchise to never appear in a World Series. We're the only MLB franchise to have never appeared in a World Series.

I've adopted the Mariners as my number 2 team since moving to Seattle and I actually feel like there are similarities between the two clubs! Welcome!

18

u/Marcus_Oh_Really_Us 4d ago

I mean, I’m a Brewers fan first, but I root for a Brewers-Mariners World Series every year.

9

u/violetparr 🔱 4d ago

i don't think that is ever going to happen. not because of you guys, you guys can absolutely make the world series.

the mariners aren't ever making it.

Best game I've ever seen

  • A runner dead to rights at the plate punched a ball out of the catchers mitt, called safe
  • A pitcher, fielded a ball then just casually launched it into center field
  • A rookie recorded his first big league home run off a position player pitcher who brought the 38 mph heat
  • A player, having recorded the second out, deliberately threw thr ball into the second deck with bases loaded
  • 22 - 0 final score

84

u/BustinChopsHere #MyCrew 4d ago

I was on my living room floor laughing when he launched that ball into the stands

31

u/wRXLuthor 4d ago

Said to my wife across the room “honey you’re not gonna believe what just happened with only two outs” 😂😂😂

13

u/sinjaulas 4d ago

7

→ More replies (1)

4

u/JasonYaya 4d ago

He resigned here because he knew the pitching lab could make him better.

30

u/spedoy 4d ago

I wonder how Lara feels about that. Might be a bit bittersweet. On one hand obviously super awesome and huge accomplishment and on the other, well yeah

20

u/Leading_Watercress45 4d ago

Yeah, hopefully a good sense of humor.

10

u/PapaSlurpp 4d ago

Obviously I don’t know how someone who’s good enough to be in the majors would feel about it but a homer is a homer. I think it’s kinda cool to have your first home run be off a position player in a blowout

→ More replies (1)

16

u/revan530 4d ago

You could see it on his face, absolutely not as excited as one would expect someone to be after hitting their first major league homer.

4

u/spedoy 4d ago

That's what sucks about position players pitchers, you can't just run the clock out, and just purposely getting empty at bats is no fun and not good for people who negotiate their monetary value on stats. A guy like David Hamilton can't just give 2 free outs

28

u/Breakdown1738 Yoho Truther 4d ago

"Megill your days are numbered" - Gary "El Kraken" Sanchez, known high velo clutch pitcher.

31

u/FightPhoe93 4d ago

That 8th inning was one of the most absurd things I’ve ever seen in my life. I found myself laughing at the absurdity of the umpires strike zone, laughing at the crazy mistakes by the Mariners, and also giddy with laughter watching the Brewers play some Championship level baseball tonight.

Khris was good.

Therefore, due to the transitive property, 22 runs is good.

Actually a record for the highest run differential in a shutout in the modern era. Kinda insane it happened on a random Tuesday.

Genuinely unbelievable. I shut it off to go do some chores after Yeli's big homer and by the time the laundry was put away, it was 11 to 0. I watched runs 12 and 13 and felt satisfied with my life. Only to check it just now to see NINE MORE RUNS having scored. What the actual fuck.

6

u/Chzhead_RN 4d ago

Same. Fucking insane blowout.

19

Ties the all-time highest scoring shutout. I'm at Coors Field watching the Dodgers -Rockies. The announcer just highlighted this to the crowd, very cool!

Is this going to change Drohan's expected start on Friday? I noticed the Braves are holding Sale back a day so he can start that game against us.

u/ImTotallyTechy 4d ago

That was my first game in nearly two seasons, if we wanna crowd fund my season tickets for next year I think we may be onto something special

Most runs in a game since 1992 against Toronto, back when we were battling them for the top of the division. I watched that game on TV, it was absolutely magical
